As I said Test is for planning out bases not making a REAL SG just one by yourself without rent I wish we had double our current prestige and all SG badges on the test so we can REALLY try out bases

I'm not sure why this isn't so. What would be the harm if they gave us, say, 1 billion prestige? I think it would be nice also if there was some sort of salvage (other than tackling mobs) or maybe even no salvage requirement. It would be nice to see what the ultimate base would be like. I know that I'd have fun with it.

Had to bump the topic. Outside inspiration for new ideas always helps me in my own base designs, even the stuff that doesn't work.

Our base is still very much under construction. But, we do have our game room set up, with some neat wall art by our very own Stone of Amn

Game Room

[/ QUOTE ]

That is simply awesome. What items are those used to make the pictures?

I looked through most of the bases posted here, all very impressive. I can't imagine how long it must have taken to build some of them O_o

I agree, VERY impressive, props to whoever did that.

I can only assume that those are vents. The new ones for the brighter color and the "rusted" ones for the darker color. The round things are lights from the lighting menu.

The Do-Gooders base was supposed to be a pure RP base made of nothing but decorative rooms. Luckily, I managed to persuade the leaders that form and functing could be combined.

IC, the base is a wing of the Straum family manor. Some of the better-established Do-Gooders are designated "Roomies". Each of them gets one 1x1 square all to themselves. (OOC, we try to let each player have one "Roomie" character. The group is alt-heavy.)

Here is the layout of the base so far. As the one who fiddles with the base editor a lot, I've become a sort of unofficial Overall Theme Co-Ordinator - I often set up the wall textures in the new rooms to make sure the overal feel of the base is consistant. I'm also responsible for the minor "oddities" like the tiny Tech workshop and the Oranbegan-looking Power Crystal bit.

Sexy??? Below is the base of one of Guardian’s premiere supergroups – 31 Flavors

Main Entrance – If only we could have windows
Office Space – I caught one of our number sitting at his computer playing COV
Teleportation Facility – What I wouldn’t give for a set of two story steps
Training/Briefing Room – On Friday nights, we also watch home movies
Workshop – One expensive table to go, the rest off screen
Control Room – Ah the server room, we keep this room at 50 degrees
Power Room - Yes generators can be exciting
Med Unit – half way to 10 million points of healing…

Nice stuff, GHM. I especially liked the training room and the teleport room (and heck, even the entrance).

Thank you. We only have between 6-8 regular team members and already have 98% of what we need to call it a complete base (no raids in our future). Our current rent is at or around 32K a period (not sure if it is monthly or biweekly). Our only problem now is that we have a ton of salvage and nothing to use it on. Please Devs, give us a tool to make use of the junk.

Oh, because others find this of value, below is our overhead view. You can see we have used every square inch of our small 8X8 while getting the larger workshop and larger TP chamber.

I belive I7 is bringing with it storage canisters for the base. I am hoping we can place it in the workshop (the obvious choice) so that we can store all the salvage!

[/ QUOTE ]That's fine so long as it doesn't take up one of my workbench spaces. A room that big and we can only have 3 tables? Come on. Anyway, here's hoping they let it "fit" in the work room.

Actually, I'd prefer that they make some of these new items placable "anywhere" in the base. I don't have a permanent workroom, and would prefer not to be penalized for that.

As of right now, no one really has a permanant workroom unless they either want it for decoration or use it for repair items. The storage thing would give the workroom a reason to exist for longer than the 10 minutes it takes to craft something.

[/ QUOTE ]Umm, ours is VERY permanent. Oh before we could afford all the tables (and the control for them) we'd swap between the 3 sizes to make our items. While not required, a permanent workshop does add to the overall "niceness" (if that's a word) of the base. Still I wish there was an..."end game" for those of us building a base that will NOT be used for raids. You know, for people who want nothing to do with PVP.

Our workrooms are also permanent. At the moment we have two, one tech and one arcane, each shop holding the basic and advanced worktables of each type. As soon as we upgrade our power generator, we'll probably upgrade both workshops and add the expert tables for each. It seems like a waste of control and power to leave them running all the time, but for my SG, I can't keep up with collecting salvage from everyone. Since people play at odd times, they need a way to free up space in their salvage inventories when I'm not around. Thus our workshops are permanent features of our base. In fact, we're currently bringing in more salvage than we can do anything with at the moment.

That's Miyuki he's using. Were it arcane, everything would be made of stone.
