Unfortunately something we forget....those street slime are superpowered as well....so as super heros we are taking on hordes of super powered street slime.
So POST-ED....it's not like you die to some wuss with a handgun...you die to super powered villains...which are still pretty big wusses if you ask me.
We are just used to being mega mega stronger and now at worst we will be mega stronger.
I think every power set combo in this game can still solo herioc....provided they arn't a build that shuns solo powers.
With all due respect, wouldn't it be better and simpler to just increase the bonus given by the To Hit/Damage Resist/Defense Buff enhancements?
STILL waiting for a response on Superior Invis. It's not listed in the group to get the "buff". Are you seriously going to give Group Invis a buff, but not SUPERIOR invis? More to the point, you're going to give the POOL POWER Invis the buff, but not the primary Illusion power pool SUPERIOR invis the same buff? Hell, it should get a BETTER buff...
Anyway. Would like to know one way or the other, please. Please don't make me spam PM's at you for it.

I don't know if anything has been changed... or if it was pointed out on this thread already... but my understanding of how defense works (as explained by States I believe a few issues ago) was that the damage type defenses apply to any attack with that damage type (though no longer cumulative for multitype attacks, was announced at that fix)
So... the Smash/Lethal extra defense will be granted against ANY attack that has a smashing/lethal component (nearly everything)

I'm so glad my Ice Tank is lvl 50 so I don't have to worry about debt anymore , now that My defenses are going to be even lower then what they were now that I6 is comming out. I already die numerous times fighting alongside my SG fighting the AV's and in FBZ. I've watched from the floor multiple times as my fellow SG tanks can stand toe to toe again them and even still tank 2 groups effectively. Ice tanks need Tough and weave just to stay alive a little longer. Although i'm still the best at fighting the malta w/ them damn sappers, that is my only +. And fighting the Soldiers of Rularuu, the Big eyeballs give me a - defense making me even more worthless, The only thing that saves me against these guys are having a wisp overlord put me in a detention field (that saves my behind) If I survive the initial aggro.
So would it be too much to ask if we can have back some of our much needed defenses now that Issue 6 will only let me put in 3 SO's in there, I mean wth? I guess I can now put extra slots in my damage so I can now maximize that even though I have rage and I'm already hitting the max on my attacks, hasten will now be useless w/out it being perma, and stamina being reduced, now I have to wait even longer for Hibernate to come up before I can use it
Please fix this problem instead of keep making it worse!!!!!
Don't get me wrong, I love my Ice tank, Since we are few in numbers I feel special but come on. I don't want to shelf my Ice tank.

Honestly, I do not see sufficient benefit to this overzealous micro-compartmentalization of defense.
DEFENSE should be simply ranged or melee. Period.
RESISTANCE should be typed by category (energy, smashing, etc.)

Though many people are upset because they feel this doesn't fix all the 'problems' they feel are present. I did want to thank you for giving these defenses back. Someone did ask about Shadow Fall and Steamy Mist. Will this change make it over to those powers?
Also does this mean that once we attack that our defense bonus is still negated? That was a previous change, I just didn't know if this meant that it was being repealed or not.

If you don't believe me, try similar builds yourself and look at the damage numbers you take. ED made already pitiful defenses completely useless now.

Really? They are? I mean aside from the times when my disoient attacks give them super speed and super jump abilities. If they are so super why is their first instinct to run right up beside me and cycle through using brawl? I mean heores have all sorts of amazing abilities we use, but the foes we fight rely on brawl, pistols, and the occasional debuff.
Maybe part of the problem people have in accepting the one hero = three minion rule is the fact that the mobs are not the least bit imposing. For the most part their superpowers are non existant, the enitre way mobs are presented shows no sign that they should be a threat to a super hero.
Now if the mobs were all hovering around firing blasts of energy or hitting KO Blow or something like that it would be a bit easier to accept. But when 90% of the mobs default to brawl the instant combat is started I don't really perceive them as being super powered.
Paragon Protectors and Rularru are good examples of the type of power selection all mobs should have. It is very easy to suspend your disbelief into thinking you are actually fighting another super powered foe. A Malta operative or nemesis minion running up beside me and trying to brawl my tanker to death though isn't exactly what I would imagine super powered combat to be.

I just want to know why stealth/greater Invis/cloaking device stop working once you attack??? Statesman if you took a blindfold and put it on your eyes so that you could see nothing and asked positron to punch you, would you be able to see him after the punch??( The blindfold would simulate invisibility ) Unless you took it off you would be at a huge disadvantage.hmmmmm guess your going to fix it, right?? Im not saying you would never get hit ,but you should keep the bonus unless it turns off.
I have always heard that stealth/greater Invis/cloaking device loose the 'hide' effect when you attack but that you keep the defense bonus they provide.
Why do you think you lose this defense bonus? If it is that you get hit a lot - these powers do not provide a great defense but only a small one.
the defense bonuses are negligible at best, and the endurance drain is far too high.
Weave. Totally not worth it now even with this. Even six slotted it's not worth the end to get what...about 10% (if that)...defense. And with ED...a totally useless power.
