Test is for discovering bugs, not for discovering if a system works.

It will go live from test with no changes to the core system.

Just like I3, I4, I5, and numerous other inbetween changes did.

Test is a relative word with this game. They might put it ont he test servers to let us see what its like, but it will still hit live.

Due note that this info abuot ED was only brought up on the CoV beta. Originally they had no intention of telling CoH untill it actually hit with the cov launch.

EvilGeko I think we need your expert in calculating now.

Oh and regen is getting an extra kick as usual. Most of our healing is unenhanceable. No other powerset gets an unenhanceable portion.

Not completely true. NDA would lift before CoV went live, and it would get out then, if not sooner.

Yes, because this got such good results the last three times. Please consider that: The last three times. This is out of hand.

Also, [censored] testing. I'm sick of it. I'm tired of the devs saying "We're changing your character drastically. Again. Please go test these numbers so we can make a few token changes. If you're really good, we might lie to you about the likelihood of future changes."

Numbers are posted on the CoV forums. Do a search for posts by me over there during the last two days. You'll find the post.

If it reduces you, it's a nerf.
If it buffs the mobs, it's challenge.
They are not the same.

As Londo would have said:

Anyone else find a bitter irony in the fact that each time we get screwed with, the change is even bigger than the last one? isn't this [censored] supposed to slow down and stop at some poiont?

so, if i've got this right, they set the i4 levels for regen where they did based on a max 6-so setup at the then-current 0.33 heal enhancement benefit. but wait, didn't posi say they've been testing changes to the game since mid-march using the new 'diminishing returns' values for enhancements? it's sort of confusing what happened then. did they change regen in i4 to match a 0.33*6 max or 0.33*6(scaled down for diminishing returns)?

that made me wonder about the internal scrapper test results that came a month later. what did they balance to then? if they balanced to the new lower enh-benefit #s the whole time then i guess we'd be relatively okay going into this enhancement change. but that's hard to believe (it means we've been relatively overpowered since i4, up until this enh change goes in). now if they didn't--if they balanced to the old values instead--then wouldn't they have had to reduce our potency even more? and if that's the case, then introducing the new benefit #s would mean we'll be balanced to higher benefit than we can actually achieve...unless they go back and change power potency again.

i'm not trying to raise a panic here, i'm just honestly confused. and i'm not really just talking about regen here of course, it applies to all of the changes since march.

and that makes me wonder about the i5 changes and what they were based on.

it'd be nice for them to come out and tell us a little more about how they've been testing.

I can't believe that either. Every barely plausible nerf we came up with they surpassed.


The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.

LOVE the new avatar. Love it. And your guide is right on point.

Here I was thinking about the changes, yet again, to my favorite character's healing powers. Then I clicked on this thread, and a sudden realization - Stamina isn't the only endurance recovery power affected by ED - smacked me right between the eyes.

It makes sense, now, why Defiance was introduced (though it hasn't worked for my blasters beyond level 15ish); why scrapper and controller damage output was increased; why Dark Armor toggles' endurance burn was decreased ... and some of us Regens were enjoying arguably the only good thing about IH being changed to a click power: no endurance burn over time, translating to less need for Stamina with some primaries.

Well. I guess we can kiss all of those positives goodbye.

One of my dearest friends plays an Empathy defender; I've teamed with him regularly, trying to help him reach L50, and happily benefitting from his buffs and heals. When my healing rate is decreased yet again, and his ability to heal is decreased, where does that leave us?
