Things I think I think
I think Ill stay here a while.
I think this thread has been entirely too positive. Therefore:
THE OP IS A NEWB TROLL FANBOI FLAMEFLAMEFIREFLAME!!!1111
K now that that's out of the way...
I think the OP's post is one of the best I've read on these forums in a long while.
I think people should chill and let others play the game the way they want, as long as it doesn't hurt their OWN game experience.
I think virtually any AT has a place in any team, if said team is willing to work with them.
I think these boards are entirely too entertaining sometimes, and I think there is some GREAT information to be had here if you can filter out the garbage.
I think this is the longest I've ever played any game in my life (including DAoC and AC).
I think beer should be considered a food group.
i like everything so far everything except one thing, super speed animation over water. i think since ur running that fast it should be displayed as running atop of water instead of swimming fast. thats the only real problem. nothing big it would be great if that were changed in the near future.
Just have to say what a great post TheChef.
I think the bosses are too hard at the moment.
I think you're right about all of that stuff TheChef. I am indeed guilty of the same complaining, yet growing to like. Issue 3 has made me realize that yes, the developers know what the heck they're doing.
I think this should be a sticky!
[ QUOTE ]
I think that crafting or item gathering would ruin this game.
[/ QUOTE ]
And I think that's almost impossible....
I think it's very improbable that content will continue to be added to the game without any of it it ending up being item/crafting.
I also think they WILL keep it as much a utility as the "item/crafting" we already have is. ...which is very simplistic I think.
I think Enhancements are an actual "item" to be collected.
I think a currently minor and potentially enormous economy exists in this game and it's future
I think Combining Enhancements is a kind of crafting already.
I think the slotting of our powers is a form of crafting granting us customization over each individual "skill".
I think that we're gauranteed to see some kind of additional crafting of Temporary Powers or Enhancements as one of the activities in the Non-Combat system....
...I think the Dev's own admission that "This system is going to be more involved than we first expected" points directly to this.
I even think that allowing us to customize our personal Auras, and later, Weapon graphic details, could also be considered crafting because it costs a resource, allows detailed combination, and can even win us more resources in costume contests.
I also think that SG Bases will be another "money sink" and will likely be built and crafted to Spec and could have further effects of their own on the game economy and/or it's distribution of resources.
....so I think, if you think, that "crafting" could ruin this game, then I think I'd pitty you for giving up prematurely on what could be the most interesting additions still to come.
I think I should have defined crafting to mean UO crafting. What you listed does sound entertaining.
I think threads like this are important.
I think this game makes me feel like a kid again.
I think that the people who develope this game know more about it than those who just play it.
I think Stealth is a vastly under-rated tool.
I think the new fear changes rule.
I think the Freak Show are my favorite villains.
I think I need to log in now!
5 stars for the original poster for his articulate and well thought out post.

I think that I am going to get flamed for this post.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think you haven't gotten flamed enough for this post so here's my try:
OMG U R TEH SUXX0RZ FANBOI!!!!!1111!!!!!1!!1!ONE!1!
UR GONA MAEK THIS GAME LAME!!!!1!!111!!
GONE TO THE AMERICANS!!!
I also think you're right on the money.
I think I gave the OP 5 stars.

Oh i think I'm gonna barf.
I think if I were not charged ongoing fees to play a game for which I already have paid, I wouldn't feel the right to complain so much.
I think that I wouldn't complain so much if i didn't already love the game. I'd just quit.
I think the complainers have a lot of valid points.
I think kissing States' booty makes you look like a teacher's pet.
I think you are FINALLY getting flamed.
And i think your brown nose deserves it.

[/ QUOTE ]I think negative on the last point.

[/ QUOTE ]
Oh, I do stand corrected then. And thank you, I think the subdued nature of "l00t" in this game is one of its most refreshing qualities, so let's both cross our fingers and hope the devs keep it from being an obsessive pursuit or a tedious click-fest better suited for Macro/BOT programs.
Most of us afterall can agree that resources in any game should be readily available to all, versatile yet purposeful, and bring people together -- not segregate them like beggars under an elitist l00t-camping Aristocracy. ...If we didn't, we'd all be playing WoW or EQ right now.
I think there's a lot more to this game than we can even imagine. (Yes, I hear Han's quote too: "I don't know; I can imagine quite a bit!")
I think we're going to see some really cool stuff in the near future. Dare I say, soon?
I think I really like this game, warts and all.
I think ... it's almost time for bed, so I should go.
I think this is a great thread.
I think I3 is fantastic.
I think CoH has amazing potential.
I think Statesman has made a lot of posts today.
I think I just got auto-logged for reading the forums for too long while flying across IP.
So I think it's almost time to re-log, but I think I'll read a few more threads first.
I think the original post was entertaining and outstanding even if I don't agree with every part of it.
I think that despite my two posts on the I3 boss-buff issue that CoH is the best MMOG running. If I didn't, I wouldn't care enough to post.
I think that a whole lot of reasons come together to make CoH the best MMOG running.
I think I got a piece of my childhood back when my first character hit the Outbreak zone.
I think the character tool is a piece of inspired gaming genius and Marvel be damned.
I think Marvel's claim that Cryptic doesn't own a comic is dead wrong. Part of CoH's appeal is that due to the updates and new material, the whole game is an ongoing comic book and we get to be characters in it.
I think the lack of uber-loot, the ability to be effective against something other than bunnies from the get-go, the variety of bad guys, make CoH easy to get into and stay in from the get-go.
I think that one fellow's guide described it best when he referred to it as the City of Hybrids. This game gives you characters that have an emphasis, but if managed the right way, have a touch of several classes. Gives you lots of tactical options if you can adapt to that and not look for narrow classifications that many other games use. I have a dark defender that has evolved to part blaster, part debuffer, part healer, part controller and a blast to play with.
I think some people who complain about one class or another haven't yet understood the City of Hybrids.
Oh, and I also think I would probably have a handful of Kheldians if I wasn't such an altoholic (28 toons strung out from lvl 5 to 26 across five servers).
I think I was wrong about the Council and apologize for being so caustic about it.
I think the upgrades to the Tanker Invulnerability line are wonderful and am enjoying them immensely.
[ QUOTE ]
I think that crafting or item gathering would ruin this game.
[/ QUOTE ]
By the classical definition of these words in a MMO context, yeah probably. But I think crafting-esque functionality can be implemented into the game without causing the sky to fall, and it'll look something like how the existing Temporary Powers work, probably 1-time-transferable, probably to teammates or SGers only.
[ QUOTE ]
I think that sonic-based powers will be better in support than on offense.
[/ QUOTE ]
We've already been told that its a controller/defender powerset, so yeah its likely to fit that support role. Judging from the behavior of Maestro, the set "feels" alot like Mind Control.

Umber's Hall of Heroes & Villains
I think I need to find an at that is as fun to play as my Katana/Regen so I can solo without worrying about outlevelingmy fiance and getting her angry.
I think I really want to skip out of work to use the free respec to fix the errors I made with my Illusion controller.
I think that this game will be the focal point of my gaming life for a long time to come.
I think that all other games will only be a passing fad for me.
I think I'll be happy when I'm not so busy so I can play for more than an hour or two every couple nights.
I think that this is by far the best MMO I've ever played.
I think I will play Devil's Advocate.*
(Read: Because so far you were right about everything in your list except one thing, here's the flame. )
[ QUOTE ]
I think that saying "I have been here since beta" gives you perspective on changes, but not more weight in your arguement.
[/ QUOTE ]
Unless your argument is, "Why did this take so long?"
[ QUOTE ]
I think that changing powers (lowering some and raising others) happens in all games regardless of genre or platform. Magic: The Gathering regularly banned cards to make players come up with new strategies. It keeps the game fresh and exciting.
[/ QUOTE ]
It took me about 5 minutes to make another deck when they changed banned/restricted cards. It would take me about 5 weeks of heavy play to get, say, a new 40th level Tanker.
"Fresh and exciting" powers changes would be customizable graphics and new powers (a la Epic Power Pools) but not unpublished numbers tweaks that appear in software code and hidden formulas.
[ QUOTE ]
I think that Jack Emmert is a great person for finally bringing a different genre into the MMO arena (I dislike fantasy RPGs unless they have a sci-fi element).
[/ QUOTE ]
Thank Rick Dakan and Michael Lewis. Especially Rick if you followed the game's development journal prior to testing.
[ QUOTE ]
I think that the developers are very friendly and I would gladly say "Hi" to them if I met them and not start with, "You nerfed my character!"
[/ QUOTE ]
If you said "Hi, Jack, you nerfed my character," that would be technically correct.
[ QUOTE ]
I think that the term "nerf" is annoying.
[/ QUOTE ]
It is a good term but annoyingly, inaccurately, and overly misused in these forums.
When an intruder breaks into your home and you find that your bat/gun/sword/rocket launcher has secretly been replaced with a nerf versoin--that would be annoying.
[ QUOTE ]
I think that different characters appeal to different people and that "altoholics" are rampant.
[/ QUOTE ]
The glass is half empty: Character creation is more fun than the content.
[ QUOTE ]
I think that City of Heroes will be around for a long time.
[/ QUOTE ]
Maybe every issue should just expand the Character Creator (see above)?
[ QUOTE ]
I think that forum whiners would complain regardless of the issue.
[/ QUOTE ]
There shouldn't be any issues.
[ QUOTE ]
I think that I am going to get flamed for this post.
[/ QUOTE ]
D00d, you really suxx0r!
[ QUOTE ]
I think that the developers care what people say, but do not necessary say, "We heard you, but decided against it."
[/ QUOTE ]
Next time you are at the bank/post office/store counter/customer service department, I sincerely hope that they can't/won't help you, but that they "care" about your problem.
Remember, the politicians "care" what you think, too. What they do is another matter, entirely.
[ QUOTE ]
I think that some developers post more infrequently because of their workload and not the fact that they are afraid of the forum lurkers (or, maybe, they are too busy trying a TaskForce).
[/ QUOTE ]
They probably have a high workload because of all the mistakes they make doing their jobs and the ones that do post a lot should spend more time doing their jobs.
(Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Also, please don't hurt me, Statesman.)
[ QUOTE ]
I think the developers, especially Jack, are a great deal smarter than I am.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ah, that finally explains why they don't take what we say seriously.
[ QUOTE ]
I think that the deployment of new Issues will always cause glitches such as increased Map Server Disconnects and this will calm down about a week or so after each Issue comes out.
[/ QUOTE ]
Then we should get a 25% discount for any month where we lose a week of quality play.
[ QUOTE ]
I think that City of Villians will be a letdown for many people ... For many others, it will be like playing City of Heroes for the first time.
[/ QUOTE ]
Just like the first time, but with more griefing.
[ QUOTE ]
I think that many players who have left simply became bored of the game and did not leave because of nerfs or lack of level 50 content.
[/ QUOTE ]
1) Lack of content = lack of things to do = boredom.
2) "CoH is boring" is a good thing?
[ QUOTE ]
I think that powerleveling will happen and there is nothing that can stop it. They can make it more difficult, but in the end the powerlevelers will just find another way.
[/ QUOTE ]
Right, just like crime. We should really stop concerning ourselves with laws, law enforcement, and courts.
[ QUOTE ]
I think that all the Archetypes have a defined role except for the new Kheldians. Sometime soon this role in a team will become more clear.
[/ QUOTE ]
They have a role...to wait for my rez to recharge or a TP from the hospital.
[ QUOTE ]
I think the Character Creation screen is simply the greatest piece of any game I have played.
[/ QUOTE ]
Play more games.
[ QUOTE ]
I think that crafting or item gathering would ruin this game.
[/ QUOTE ]
/agreed
We should collect non-material goods like badges so my 40th level character can run around PP agroing huge groups of mobs and training them on to unsuspecting parties of level 8's because I only wanted to kill the Bone Daddy, Damned, Mage, Abberrant, Prince, etc.
[ QUOTE ]
I think that at least one new zone will be added with each issue.
[/ QUOTE ]
But you will still have to run to do missions in KR and PP, even when you are playing in a zone made for level 50.
[ QUOTE ]
I think that right after City of Villians is released (or shortly before) there will be an announcement of the next for-pay standalone/expansion and it will either be a Space or a Time based expansion.
[/ QUOTE ]
So that our heroes can go into outerspace or back in time where we can't be griefed and stopped getting pwned by the l33t PvPers?
[ QUOTE ]
I think that water-based zones/powers/events will rock.
[/ QUOTE ]
Finally, the powers we've all been waiting for--water breathing and talking to fish!
It's not a good sign when your name is Ariel and even you think that sounds lame...
[ QUOTE ]
I think that sonic-based powers will be better in support than on offense.
[/ QUOTE ]
You mean just like Superstrength?
[ QUOTE ]
I think that archery will be a nifty set to see.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think I'll definitely be seeing it because I'll have eight 50th level characters I won't want to delete by then...7 of them Kheldians.
[ QUOTE ]
I think that one of the Issues will focus on new art for characters.
[/ QUOTE ]
You heard it here, first, folks. Bet you can't wait to get your hands on Issue 37, now, huh?
[ QUOTE ]
I think that the Super Secret Out of Combat System has an interesting acronym and will also be very fun to play.
[/ QUOTE ]
You mean, the
So-far
Skills are
Out of the
City of heroes
System?
[ QUOTE ]
I think that people need to calm down about bugs right after a release (even though a number were seen in test). I would rather the developers fix the crash bugs and the network bugs before the other stuff.
[/ QUOTE ]
So as long as the devs can keep the game crashing, they won't have to work on "other stuff?"
[ QUOTE ]
I think grammar is important and spelling is also important.
[/ QUOTE ]
u r n idiote & wut u sey iz stoopid
[ QUOTE ]
Please feel free to add to this list with your thoughts.
[/ QUOTE ]
Done.

And is a pessimist whose arguments are completely speculation just like everyone else's.
I think this is the first time I've read a multi-page thread from beginning to end before posting in it...
...and therefore I think I should post something more meaningful than the first sentence..
I think CoH is one of the best games I've played in years.
I think the long wait while zoning and occaisional lag caused by my aging PC are worth it. I enjoy Paragon City that much.
I think my $15/month is well spent.
I think I can't think of any other compliments at the moment, but I'll come back when I think about something that I can think about.
I think I have no idea what that last sentence is supposed to say.
