Here are a few screen shot I got from the Beta ending. How do you get the labels and everything else to capture?
[/ QUOTE ]
The command is /screenshotui 1 to make the trays and names show up in screenshots. Use 0 instead of 1 to turn it off again.

Or do what I do, do it both ways at once:
/bind F1 "screenshotui 1 $$ screenshot $$ screenshotui 0 $$ screenshot"
This binds my F1 key to take 2 screenshots rapidly, one with the UI and one without. Good for times when you're not sure if you wnt the UI on or not. Yeah, it takes up more space, but I prefer it this way.
[/ QUOTE ]
Should have thought of that. Thank you for mentioning it. It is going into my bind file now.

There is also a "Toggle Screenshot UI" key bind under the keymapping tab (down at the bottom with the other screenshot options). I have mine set to the number pad '+' for example. One key to toggle it on and off again. Just don't forget which you have it set at, as there's no way to tell otherwise. -

Hey, regen Scrapper! *brawl* *toggle drop* *UNRESISTED CRITICAL!*

Thankfully, Moment of Glory is a click power.
A for effort! -

Playing against another player is just about always different. No-one buys beat em ups to play them on their own, at least not for any great length of time, the online scene is designed to play with and against other people. otherwise it'd be an offline game with downloadable patches for content updates. I try and try not to come back to the whole "it's an online multiplayer game" arguement but every time i try and offer up something to the solo and storyline based community, it just seems to feel like it's in a wasted genre.
[/ QUOTE ]
I have been playing these game largely (90% of my in-game time) solo since 1999. Seems a fair length of time to me. But I do see the other side of the argument. Shame more people can't or won't see the solo side of the argument too. Kinda petty in a live and let live way really. At least in my opinion.

Like we should create an entirely different genre for that type of game. Because everytime a new MMO comes out, the reaction is the same, people want more solo content, people want more pvp content etc etc. And in all fairness it's just about business suicide to create a game entirely devoted to one of these genres.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, in a pay-for MMO model the only real suicide is not listening to you players. You know, the people with the money? And in a related topic, I'd like to point out that I am so far seeing more 'disappointed' posts than those happy that Arena's are coming out before the SSOCS. I realise the boards don't speak for all players but the ratio seems really high. In short, I'm not saying; I'm just saying is all.
[ QUOTE ]
Odd, the first time I recall hearing about CoV I recall hearing mention of putting out the areanas beforehand to allow limited PVP.

The first time I recall hearing about Arenas (specifically by name even) and PvP in COH was at E3...2002. Granted, I don't work for Cryptic. I don't know if that feature was ever more than a design document. Just saying again.
If the above sounds bitter I assure you, that's not the spirit in which it was written. But I think it's clear that I am a bit disappointed as well to see the SSOCS bumped for inconsequential PvP but like I said, I don't work for Cryptic. I'm sure there are very good reasons for Arenas to take precedence over the SSOCS besides some kind of beta test for COV.
Right? -
I must say I am very happy at the prospects these changes hold for missions, a feature which I never really jived with in this game. I am far too fond of street sweeping and invariably out-level my contacts and miss vast swaths of story content as a result. The "Flashback" improvement is the feature that I am most looking forward to and will be waiting patiently for.
Next to only one other game studio out there Cryptic is the king (prince?) at communicating to and with, it's players and not 'Biting the Hand' that feeds them (hint, hint). Something that I think will become increasingly important in MMO's in the years to come. Kudos, and again, thanks. -
I think threads like this are important.
I think this game makes me feel like a kid again.
I think that the people who develope this game know more about it than those who just play it.
I think Stealth is a vastly under-rated tool.
I think the new fear changes rule.
I think the Freak Show are my favorite villains.
I think I need to log in now! -
I almost jumped right to posting a link to Nick Yee's site but decided to read the rest of the posts first (well, most of them). Glad to see that someone beat me to it as his site is not only fascinating but astoundingly thorough.
As a side note; if you ever actually say "lol" to somebody while talking face to face with them, it's time to un-plug.
