Things I think I think

I think that you may be smart about different things and in different ways, but you shouldn't sell yourself short. This was a remarkably well thought and well written posting.

I think my Family is ready to have me commited, I told them it was ok as long as I could play this wonderful game and I would.

I think the OP is right on most points. I think I like forum posts that elicit positive feedback.
I think the devs have an unenviable task.
I think, if I'm patient, I'll finally get to see the octopus, the ghostship and the paladin.
I think Marvel's law suit is going to backfire on them. I think CoH players have been their bread and butter for a LONG time, and they're biting the many, many hands that feed them.
I think the winter event will be fun, when it comes. And I think it will be worth the wait.
I think I finally have a hero that will make it to level 50.
I think I'm in love with the Nemesis Staff I found last night. (Can I keep it, Statesman? Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease?) I think five days just isn't long enough.
I think I agree that CoH brings out the kid in me. I think that's worth more than $15 a month. I think that's priceless.
I think the Halloween event was a creative stroke of genius.
I think the Bastion TF is a real bear.
I think the devs are human. I think the devs are fallible. I think the devs are doing their best. I think bugs are a reality of the computer age, and I think that, given the size of CoH as an application, it's a wonder it runs as smoothly as it does. I think we should give them a break.
I think Rubble is the cutest little thing.
I think Independence Port is a big place.
I think flying is the most amazing travel power, in spite of its speed. I think superspeed and flight should stack, if I'm willing to take both power pools.
I think of myself as a soloist, but I have the most fun when I team.
I think one of my superpowers should be Lesson Learned, which resurrects a fallen hero and negates any subsequent debt. I think I would be VERY popular.
I think badges should do more than look pretty.
I think I play CoH more than I should. I think I play CoH less than I want to.
I think the UI of CoH is amazingly simple and intuitive.
I think Nazi-types are evil and make wonderful targets for aspiring heroes. I think some people like to play the victim.
I think a time travel expansion would be cool. I think going back to the time when Paragon City's fallen heroes were alive would be fun. I think saving each of them from their impending doom would make good missions.
I think temporary powers make the game more fun and interesting. (Have I mentioned my Nemesis Staff?)
I think attacking a large group of lower level grays with an AoE and watching them all drop is a great power trip.
I think the 3D rendering and attention to detail in CoH is amazing. I think a lot of people take it for granted.
I think the skills system sounds interesting. I think it will add to the CoH experience, whatever form it eventually takes.
I think it's astounding that people from around the globe can meet in Paragon City without having to leave their homes.
I think animal, elemental, and crystaline bodies of various types would be a fun addition to the costume set.
I think altoholics should have a 12-step program.
I think I'm an altoholic.
I think CoV and PvP will add an interesting twist to CoH.
I think NCSoft deserves an accolade.
Don't mind Ariel, probably a disgruntled beta tester from back in the day. I hate those play by play posts anyway.
I think I'm going to miss my Nemesis Staff (yesterday was day 5).
I think I'll keep checking this thread for other good "I think"s.

I think this is the understatement of the year. I can think of another game that has perhaps the most outstanding and forthcoming game support staff I've ever seen (NeverWinter Nights) and yet they are regularly raked over the coals in their forums by players who didn't get what they wanted in the latest patch now, Now, NOW!!! regardless of whether or not what they wanted would have been good for the game or the effort in man hours it would take to provide it. Players who either forget that the continued development and support costs money and man hours, that a lot of TIME and effort goes into the nifty features that are taken for granted (do you have any idea of the clipping challenges that capes represent?), or else bemoan about how all the dev staff are concerned with is making money because they work for a money grubbing corporation (What? They should be providing this game and spending their time supporting all of us out of the goodness of their hearts?).
I think that the devs on any well made game do what they do more out of a passionate love for that game than just as a job to get paid. Not that there's anything wrong with getting paid. Eating, driving, having a roof and clothing, are all fun things to have and do.

I think the Fifth Column was doomed because the game was about to be released in Europe and Germany has very strict laws about what elements of the past can be portrayed or glorified in any fashion in a game or else the game is banned. (Market issue)

I think this is all too true. Like a CGI sequence in a movie, if it's more or less seamless you don't notice after a while but if it looks blocky or coarse it becomes annoying and a detraction. CoH has a VERY smooth 3D engine and some of the best and smoothest life-like animation I've seen in a game.

That's the first viable explanation I've heard on that issue. Thanks.
To our German (and other European) heroes to be . . . welcome to Paragon City.
I think I have met and teamed with some amazing people in this game.
I think that characters that make it to level 50 should have their names posted somewhere on this website.
I think that sometimes I hate it when real life interferes with CoH time (oops did I say that out loud?)
I think that the Flash would probably approve of Boombox emotes, but Batman definitely would NOT.
I think Supergroups were a great idea.
I think you should be able to be affiliated with more than one Supergroup.
I think this game has given my wife and I more enjoyment than any TV-watching or single player gaming ever could.
I think this game helped me introduce my 5-year old son to the idea of heroes and what that means in real life.
Ideally, the tank will die precisely as everyone else starts fighting, allowing aggro to be spread evenly among the blaster. -seebs, "How to Suck at CoH/CoV" Guide
I think I will add something.

I think without trying.
I think this is the last post (think about it! /grin).
I think I am done.

Well, at least you didn't send me a death threat in my PM mailbox or anything.

I think that the forums are the best casual reading I do everyday at work.
I think the Devs have the big picture that the rest of us lack and I will trust this big picture until the game no longer interests me.
I think that saying "I have been here since beta" gives you perspective on changes, but not more weight in your arguement.
I think that changing powers (lowering some and raising others) happens in all games regardless of genre or platform. Magic: The Gathering regularly banned cards to make players come up with new strategies. It keeps the game fresh and exciting.
I think some players would prefer that powers are buffed and not "nerfed", but this is not how the world works.
I think that Jack Emmert is a great person for finally bringing a different genre into the MMO arena (I dislike fantasy RPGs unless they have a sci-fi element).
I think that the developers are very friendly and I would gladly say "Hi" to them if I met them and not start with, "You nerfed my character!"
I think that the term "nerf" is annoying.
I think that different characters appeal to different people and that "altoholics" are rampant.
I think that City of Heroes will be around for a long time.
I think that forum whiners would complain regardless of the issue.
I think that I am going to get flamed for this post.
I think that the developers care what people say, but do not necessary say, "We heard you, but decided against it."
I think that some developers post more infrequently because of their workload and not the fact that they are afraid of the forum lurkers (or, maybe, they are too busy trying a TaskForce).
I think the developers, especially Jack, are a great deal smarter than I am.
I think that the deployment of new Issues will always cause glitches such as increased Map Server Disconnects and this will calm down about a week or so after each Issue comes out.
I think that City of Villians will be a letdown for many people only because everyone has grand ideas and many are exclusive to each other. For many others, it will be like playing City of Heroes for the first time.
I think that many players who have left simply became bored of the game and did not leave because of nerfs or lack of level 50 content.
I think that powerleveling will happen and there is nothing that can stop it. They can make it more difficult, but in the end the powerlevelers will just find another way.
I think that all the Archetypes have a defined role except for the new Kheldians. Sometime soon this role in a team will become more clear.
I think that I talk too much and say very little.
I think the Character Creation screen is simply the greatest piece of any game I have played.
I think that crafting or item gathering would ruin this game.
I think that at least one new zone will be added with each issue.
I think that right after City of Villians is released (or shortly before) there will be an announcement of the next for-pay standalone/expansion and it will either be a Space or a Time based expansion.
I think that water-based zones/powers/events will rock.
I think that sonic-based powers will be better in support than on offense.
I think that archery will be a nifty set to see.
I think that one of the Issues will focus on new art for characters.
I think that the Super Secret Out of Combat System has an interesting acronym and will also be very fun to play.
I think that people need to calm down about bugs right after a release (even though a number were seen in test). I would rather the developers fix the crash bugs and the network bugs before the other stuff.
I think grammar is important and spelling is also important.
I think I have gone on long enough.
Please feel free to add to this list with your thoughts.

Agreed, 99.9%, but I'll leave it to others to guess what little I don't agree with. Some of the things I greatly agree with are re-quoted below for emphasis, with a minor comment to clarify.

I have been here since Beta, and while I get a lot of perspective on the overall degree of changes made, I still haven't seen all of the content of the game. The only thing I can add when discussing changes in the game, or any part of the game, comes from that perspective, but it definitely carries no more weight than any other forum reader or poster, or even those that never come to the forums.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
Black Pebble is my new hero.
I think this is an incredible game.
I think this game can also be incredibly frustrating.
I think this game reminds me a lot of marriage.
I think I have figured out (seriously) the Kheldian's role!
I think I love playing a Kheldian, to the point that I have a knee-jerk reaction to quasi-racist "SQUID!" remarks.
I think people will complain no matter what...including that my invulnerability power got diluted.
I think the $15 a month is well-spent.
And, I think the developers deserve our thanks and a cup of hot cocoa.

I think that if PvP is half as much fun as pegging other heroes with snowballs, it'll be the best PvP system yet in a MMP.

I think I suck at playing blasters.
I think that my Phantasms have an IQ of 80 and my Phantom Army has an IQ of 5.
I think that Blasters and Controllers have a Klingon/Tribble Relationship.
I think that the ladies need long skirts and that you should have the option for multiple heads and arms.
I think I'll name my son Zaphod Beeblebrox.
I think I am too silly for this thread.
I think that its OK if people want to flame me.

Don't forget your towel
I think this would be a great idea, and I hope the Devs read this. This is from our SG forums. I think it's a spectacular idea!!!!
This is going to be long...but good, so treat yourself if you have time >
I guess this is technically spoilers for anyone that hasn't reached the end game, so if you like surprises I guess you should turn back now...
So I was thinking today: this game is meant to be open-ended. Right now what we call the "end game" is really just the top level you can get. Even then, a lot of people who have reached level 50 haven't reached the end game as far as I'm concerned because they were PLed like mofos and didn't experience the content that makes this a "game" and not a screen saver...
Anyway, back to the main topic. The two top villains in this game, I guess you would call them "end bosses" in another game, are Hamidon and Tyrant IMO. Hamidon is nearly impossible to beat and he really represents more of a monster than a villain, like Moleman's monster tearing out of the ground on the cover of Fantastic Four #1. Tyrant is a really cool idea, especially since Statesman isn't in the game while all the rest of the Praetorians we've kind of seen. But he's super easy to beat, teleports out at the end of the fight (very very comic book-y, thumbs up) and a lot of people I know have beaten him 10-12 times and junk.
I love fighting AVs. It's probably my favorite part of the game (next to trials and TFs). But a lot of the AV encounters are kind of vanilla and leave something to be desired. So here's a few ideas I came up with that I think are do-able and would really add to the comic book experience of the game.
1) Archvillains who are actually a players archenemy. Make a contact for each AT that gives them missions where they try to foil the plots of a specific new villain that is tailored (sort of) to the player. This could be as simple or as complicated to as the devs want. There could be one AV for each AT, one AV for each primary or one AV for each Primary/Secondary combo. We're talking anywhere from 5 to 100 and some odd villains here. They could make it even better if they had several different contacts throughout your career that each turn you on to the plots of your AE. "So and so is up to it again, Chromium Man, and we need you to stop him." Obviously there would be duplicate bad guys but how many of us team with people that have the exact same primary/secondary as us...not counting the DoA, LOL! Even better they could make the AEs on the level with Elite Bosses: hard to solo, but do-able. That way you get a really satisfying fight out of the guy and might even die a few times and have a reason to hate him as much as he is programmed to hate you...
Example: I'm Chromium Man, a level 15 Fire/Fire blaster. I talk to my contact Rich Johnson and he tells me that he just heard that there's a new villain in town and he's up to no good. I get a warehouse mission and I take out a bunch of thugs who are all yelling about how Coldsnap is going to kill them for this. I leave wondering who this Coldsnap is and what he's up to. The second part of the mission I hit the streets and take out some thugs hoping to hear more about Coldsnap and hit paydirt after 20 or 30 thugs. Coldsnap has been spotted robbing another warehouse in King's Row. I run a third part of the mission and encounter Coldsnap, a level 15 Ice/Ice tanker. We go at it and after a hard-fought battle he escapes while I am distracted by a large group of minions that spawns just as I'm about to arrest him.
Maybe around level 25 I talk to a new contact that says that Coldsnap is out to get me again and I get a new multipart mission where I encounter the increasingly dangerous Coldsnap. The next time I encounter him he's level 25 and has five new powers just like he was a hero and it's a whole new battle...Same at level 35, 45...maybe even every five levels...
"Coldsnap" could be the archenemy of every blaster, every fire blaster or every fire/fire blaster. Get it?
2) The outdoor instanced missions were a great addition to the game. Your contact tells you that they have erected an emergency forcefield and you have like your own little hunting area for as long as you want (unless it's timed, LOL!) But it's not really an "emergency". You can let your mission sit as long as you want. Here's my idea for random villain encounters that utilizes the emergency force field plot idea: A Broadcast goes out over the GM Channel: "Blue Phoenix is on the rampage in Peregrine Island, please be on the lookout." This is the first warning. Anyone who doesn't want to fight Blue Phoenix should evacuate the area and get to a "safe-zone". The next warning comes a few minutes later: "Blue Phoenix is on the rampage in [some PI neighborhood]" This is a second warning and when this goes out, Blue Phoenix attacks. He swoops/jumps/speeds/TPs into the neighborhood and starts aggressively attacking any heroes in the area. You're a level 6 blaster? You should have listened to the broadcast and gotten the Hell out of Dodge cause he's gonna one-shot you...He won't attack outside of the neighborhood that he "spawns" in so you can run from him if you see him and he may not kill you. The third broadcast, a few minutes after he spawns: "An Emergency forcefield has been erected in [PI neighborhood]." At this point, an emergency forcefield is erected in the neighborhood and you can only get through it by entering a police cordone. Any heroes can enter and but the kibosh on the villain but it's enter at your own risk...and maybe even make it so that you can't teleport out to the hospital if you die. Once the villain is defeated the emergency force field drops and a fourth and final broadcast goes out to announce that the villain has been defeated and the area is safe. Or if no heroes fight him after a given amount of time he grows tired of his rampage and retreats and the area is clear anyway. Obviously, there would be problems with not being able to reach your contacts and junk while the villain was active but I think it would be really cool and it would only be ten minutes so quit your belly aching.
So that's it. What do you guys think? Sorry it's so long but I have a lot to say. And I couldn't be bothered with paragraphs and junk cause I'm at work LOL!

I think I was starting to fall out of love with video games.
I think, even though so many wonderful titles were coming out, I was drifting... moving on.
I think City of Heroes has managed to incorporate some form of crack cocaine into the software, which is transmitted visually.
I think I had a life once... before City of Heroes.
