Good luck finding RPers on heroside Infinity. I am actually moving my 2 high levels from there to Triumph when and if server switch is ever implemented due to the utter lack of RPers.

The little interruption earned a raised eyebrow from Julian. He read the note with the same neutral/bored expression he usually sported.
"Interesting," he mumbled idley.

Ivy glanced at the note and then looked at her roomie. "Are you going to go?" She asked with a raised eyebrow. -

"My own incarceration was a bit more straight forward however. I am the son of Tobias Grace III, current head of Grace Industries. Under the direction of my grandfater, Tobias II, our company was one of the only direct competitors to Crey. Sadly my father, while a very clever inventor, is not a very good businessman. As a result the family business has fallen downhill in recent years. I decided to take steps to rectify this; steps that the judicial system did not view as entirely legal. I'm ashamed to admit that I made a mistake which allowed the authorities to trace my actions back to me, so here I am. A minor setback to be sure, but nothing too disastrous."
[/ QUOTE ]
Ivy listened with mild amusement as she soaked in the last rays of weak sunlight. "So you made a mistake, someone got hurt and/or killed or some property got damaged and they decided that you were a threat to society as we know it and sent you here. Fascinating." She got up slowly. "How much time do we have before they lock us evil children in our rooms?" She said. "If I'm going to spend the rest of my life in this place I want to know where things are." She looked at him. "You're welcome to come along if you can stand my company." -

After his brief examination, the boy seemed to remember where he was and held out a hand to the girl with a smile that was much too business-like for a child his age.
"How do you do," he greeted respectfully if a little coldly. "Julian Grace."
[/ QUOTE ]
Ivy glanced at the hand and then shook her head. "I wouldn't suggest shaking my hand. People tend to react badly to my skin oils." She said stroking the leaves on her fingernails. She smiled a bit. "So aside from being a mean nasty villain who would destroy the world if you were let roam the world unattended what got you in here? I accidentally poisoned several judges at a science fair and then didn't feel enough remorse." She knew she was going to have to tread carefully around this sense of humor-less kid.
OOC: (( Sorry about taking so long to reply. I have had some serious issues to take care of in that nasty thing they call real life.)) -
Ivy glanced around and then walked into the room found the cot near the window and sat down. She had so far seen nothing of her "Roomate" and didn't really know what to expect. So far the administrators had all been expecting her to be the same dim-witted hellions that inhabited the bottom floor of her old apartment building. She giggled to herself as she remembered what had happened after those hellions had beaten her up. It had been the first sign of things to come. She felt her leaves rustling in the weak sunlight coming through the shatter proof glass. "Well I wonder when this mysterious Julian Grace will show up." SHe muttered to herself.
-
Ivy waited patiently. The posturing of the guards didn't bother her nor did the prospect of no dinner. She amused herself by staring long and hard at a Longbow female. The look the guard gave her back was almost comical. Ivy started tittering a little. She caught herself before she started laughing out loud. She heard a couple of the students announce that they should go work in the garden. She stared at them wistfully..the garden should be her domain. No worries soon enough someone would get caught trying some foolish plan of escape and then the garden duty would be given to her. She waited her turn in line to go see this person.
-
Ivy watched as one of the longbow was attacked and then the attacker ran directly for the man named Meatwagon. The attack failed as she suspected it would. She winced in sympathy and then giggled as that goon Meatwagon told them all that the "Princess" had decreed that no one was going to eat. She decided that it might be a good idea NOT to let it be known that she could get her sustenance from the sunlight or that buffoon might lock her away. "I wonder who my roomate will be or cellmate for ths place." She said chuckling softly.
-
Ivy watched the varied reactions of the longbow with distaste. She had been called worse than the things the guard was saying so she didn't bother to say anything. Her wristband was too tight and she suspected that it was done on purpose. She almost said something but then decided that since she'd been told to shut up she may as well. She didn't want to risk getting thrown out and sent to...
Three weeks earlier
The fat longbow judge leered down at young Ivy. "You purposely murdered those judges. But since you are 14 we can't send you to the Ziggurat for life you abomination. Therefore we are sending you to a "school" run by Longbow. You will stay there until you are 21 and IF they decide that you are worthy you will stay there as a faculty member for the rest of your natural life."
Ivy nodded barely able to breathe. "I..I.."
"I didn't give you permission to speak. Listen Miss if it was up to me you would be locked in the 5th basement of the Ziggurat with the Devouring Earth because thats what I think you are." He thought a moment and then smiled. "In fact if you screw up once thats where you will be sent." he slammed his gavel down so hard it shattered.
present day
Ivy started to look around as they were "Led" into this place. She started observing her fellow students staring at each of them with her dark green eyes as if almost daring them to come say hi. -
Ivy stared at the others on the bus as she soaked up the delicious sunlight that was filtering through the window. She watched the leaves growing between her fingers again and was relieved that she wouldn't have to endure the painful existance of trying to live as a regular H.Sapiens anymore. True that she was supposed to be being punished for what she'd done to the judges at the science fair, but she looked at it a different way. What was so bad about this? I mean she could live off the sunlight and didn't have to keep pulling the leaves out of her body when they sprouted. "What do I care if I look like an overgrown shrub?" She asked herself. The sun was delicious as always. The bus creaked to a stop and she was forcibly removed. She looked at the school yard and a faint smile appeared on her face. "Home sweet home." She said. The Longbow looked at her.
"You're being punished because you were bad. Don't enjoy yourself or you won't be punished. Whats your name Plant girl or something?"
"Ivy Bramble is what I was called at school. My actual name is.." She said.
"I don't care what your name is Bramble. Behave yourself and we'll never have to see eachother. Try to escape and I'll lock you away so far you'll never see the sun and will live off..."
Ivy had already started ignoring him. She unbuttoned her jacket and let the leaves on her shoulders flutter in the breeze. "I don't care what that Longbow thinks or anything. I am going to enjoy it here more than among my parents and those normal humans." She whispered to herself.
((Ivy is basically human with a few exceptions. She has small vines intwining her hands that wrap around her fingers with very small leaves instead of fingernails. She also has leaves sprouting from her shoulders and her legs are a little woody. It doesn't affect how she walks. She CAN eat normally though she prefers photosynthesis and will always seek places out where she can get sunlight. The best way to punish her is to lock her away without access to the sun for a week. She tends to have a bit of contempt for humanity and was locked up for crossing a Jumping Cholla Cactus with poison Oak for a school science fair project and accidentally killing the judges.)) -

"Send in Ms. Morse."
"Yessir."
Once Mr. Creese had finally walked out of the office, Vanessa quickly stood up and straightened herself nervously. She had been watching the door in anticipation for when he would step out.
"Mr. Creese," Vanessa smiled, "If you will follow me, I can take you who you need to see."
And maybe what you want to see... Vanessa's eyes subtly surveyed Ryan's body as she slowly stepped from behind her desk. She approached the floor elevator and waited.
Monica phoned Security, "Hey, its Monica. Send up Ms. Morse if you haven't already. Mr. Thomas is ready to see her. Thanks."

Jen was almost done with her medical journal. The latest findings into attacking Cancer with genetically modified white blood cells was astounding. She was tapped on the shoulder by one of the guards. "Ms Morse, Mr Thomas is ready for you." He said.
Jen almost corrected him then thought, "Oh hell he won't remember anyway. I don't look like your typical doctor." She just smiled and got up putting her journal into her bag. She followed the guard up to a very fancy office. "Thank you." She said knocking on the door. It opened when she knocked and she looked in. "Mr Thomas, I'm Doctor Morse. I was told you wished to talk to me. -

Jason looked up, a little startled. Oh, yes, maam. Sorry. I was a little distracted. He swore inwardly. This was another reason he didnt like working the front desk. Screens of any kind distracted him from conversations and the people around him. If he wanted to hold a conversation, he had to turn completely away from any television screen or computer monitor.
Jason checked the logs, and then double checked them. Maam, I sorry, Im not finding anyone with your name on their schedule. Do you have any idea which department this might involve?

Jen pulled her pager out and looked at the message. "It only says that I'm supposed to meet someone here at this time for a meeting." She said.
Another guard walked over. "Oh yes Miss Morse, you are to meet Mr Thomas. I will call his office and let him know you are here."
"Thank you and its DOCTOR Morse." She said feeling rather annoyed.
"Well I'm sorry Miss high and mighty." The guard sniffed walking over to his phone. He dialed a number, waited a few minutes, got a voicemail and then said. "Mr Thomas, this is Joe Puna from security. I have a "Doctor" Morse here to see you at your convenience." He hung up and then walked over. "Well..." He made quote signs with his hands, "...Doctor, Mr Thomas is in a meeting right now and you can wait down here for him to be ready."
Jen was ready to punch this little slime weasel but she held her temper. She needed this job to support her daughter. "Alright Mr Puna, I can wait." She said pleasantly and walked over and pulled out a medical Journal and waited. -
(I think I made the mistake of being sort of Discontinuous, which is why I arranged for a "Meeting" with someone. If anyone cares to have a meeting with a naive young doctor feel free to call down at the desk. If not I'll try some other time to meet more people than Kara.)
-
Evening was falling and Jen was tired. All she really wanted to do was leave to pick her daughter up and go home and snuggle with Leenie and the Cats infront of the TV. But there was still stuff to be done. She'd gotten an email requesting her assistance on a young girl whose memory was being inexplicably erased. The case was in a small free clinic half way across town. The case intrigued her. The first thing to go was the short term memory. The asking for an extra glass of milk at lunch, things like that. In 2 days it had gone from short term memory loss to the beginnings of long term memory loss. The girls parents had panicked and had brought her to the free clinic. The doctor there had then called Jen in for a consult. Sighing and looking at the clock Jen noticed that it was 3:30 and already it was starting to snow harder. "Well the good news is that you won't have to contend with anyone on the roads." She laughed to herself. At that precise moment her pager went off. She looked at it and saw,
"Go to Tharomar Headquarters for a meeting."
She sighed. "Oh of all the times to do this. I'd better call and tell them I'll come in tomorrow for that consult." She got her phone out and called the clinic. "Yes this is Dr Morse, I had a consult with Dr Eberling scheduled for this afternoon. I am afraid I'm not going to make it. I just got a page for a mandatory meeting."
"Alright Doctor. Thanks for notifying us. We will let Dr Eberling know. What day would you like to re-schedule?"
"What days good for Dr Eberling. I can come by tomorrow after work." Jen said.
"That will be fine. We'll let her know." The nurse said and hung up. Jen grabbed her light coat and walked outside wishing once again for her boots as the snow melted into her stockings. She got into her car and started to drive. "I'm so glad that I got my license up in Fairbanks." She muttered watching another car slide into a lightpost. She waved and got the finger back. 15 minutes later she pulled into Tharomar headquarters. Parking in the guest parking area she got out, stepped in a puddle and gritted her teeth. "This better be worth it." She muttered walking inside. She walked up to the desk. "Yes my names Jen Morse. I'm a doctor over at the hospital. I was paged and asked to come here for a meeting but they didn't say who. Could you check for me and then inform them that I'm here?" -
Jen smiled a rather scary smile. "I think we need to look beyond the obvious. Something is wrong or she wouldn't be here. I won't have time today because I have to go over to Tharomar and fill out some financial paperwork and insurance forms of my own, but lets do it tomorrow after rounds. I'll meet you in her room say 11 AM?"
-
((Jen is not your typical stuffy doctor who thinks nurses are slaves. She thinks that most nurses have good insight AND she is new to this hospital and has no friends.))
Jen giggled, "Pizza..that sounds a lot more appetizing than that burger. If we didn't have to work this afternoon I'd be tempted to go run tests on it to see when it died." She grew serious. "I looked over the file of that patient in 2-14. Theres not a lot in it thats useful. I was wondering if you could provide any of your observations on it." -
Jen walked into the cafeteria after dealing with a particularly annoying patient who had thrown his food all over her. She sighed and then saw Kara staring at her meal with a sense of unappeal. She went and sat down and handed her one of her sandwiches. "You look like you could use some real food Kara." She said with a smile. "Hospital food has never been good. I should know I got someones lunch dumped down my shirt." She saw the uncomfort on the young nurses face and smiled again. "Hey I'm not here to grade you. I just want to be friends."
-
Jen nodded, "I'll help you. The sooner we find her file the sooner we can figure out whats wrong with her. I've already done my rounds so if you'd like me to get started with it you two can join me when you get a chance." She said eager to find a place to sit down and kick these annoying shoes off. Her pager went off and she looked down. "Damn it will have to wait for me. I've got a patient in my office with some unknown rash." She said. She could tell already that this was turning into her basic day except that this time she had to wear these dress shoes. She smiled at them. "I'll meet you in the office soon I hope." She said turning and heading for her own office.
OOC: More later right now I need to go to work before I get yelled at. -
Jen was returning to her office to get started on the paperwork that was still needed to be filled out when she saw another doctor and nurse conversing in the hall. She walked up anxious to introduce herself. "Its not nice to bust into others conversations." her concience told her. "Well if I never introduce myself to the staff they'll never know I'm here." She muttered and walked up. "Um excuse me, I just wanted to introduce myself. Dr Jen Morse. I'm the new Diagnostician here."

Dr Jennifer Ann Morse, known as Jen to her colleagues at Alaska Regional Hospital stared at the snow falling outside her new apartment in the city of Rockwell. Shed arrived 3 days ago and was still getting used to Eastern Standard time. She looked longingly at her jeans and boots in the corner and sighed. No more wearing those to work anymore. Now that she was attached to Tharomar Hospital, it was business attire and white coats again for her. She swung her legs out of bed and whipped the curtains open. The newly fallen snow was going to create traffic and delay and she didnt want to be late for her first day on the job. I dont see what the big deal is. Its 3 inches of snow. She muttered. Ive seen worse this time of year. She looked at the two kittens sleeping on her bed. You ladies be good now while Im at work. I had enough trouble convincing the landlady that you could be here. She went into the next bedroom and shook the child. Come on Missy, up and at em. Mom needs to go to work.
The child opened her eyes and groaned. Its still dark outside and its snowing. She said.
Yeah you should be used to that. At least its warm. Jen said with a smile. Go on downstairs and get Teazie and Jerrie their tuna. I need to shower and get into a monkey suit. Her daughter laughed and got up yelling at the kittens to hurry up. Jen jumped in the shower and quickly washed what little hair she had. She got out and got dressed once again looking longingly at her boots and jeans on the floor. She went downstairs and her daughter was ready with a bagel and cream cheese for her.
For you mommy. I used the butter knife like you told me. She said
Jen looked at the bagel with the wad of cream cheese on one side and nothing on the other. She smiled. Thank you sweetie. I am sure it will be delicious. She said herding the young child out the door. She started her car and backed down the driveway stopping just in time because someone came sliding sideways down the street with their brakes clearly pressed in totally. Hey let up on your brakes a little. She yelled through the window. The man gave her the finger as he careened into a snow bank. Jen laughed as she drove down the hill. She dropped Leenie off at the daycare and then drove over to the hospital. She knew that eventually shed have to stop by the headquarters of the hospitals namesake and fill some paperwork out but right now she had some files and an office to organize. She walked in and showed her ID to the guard at the door.
Dr Morse, you are requested to stop by Tharomar Enterprises headquarters at your earliest convenience. A nurse at the station said when he saw her walk in.
I know, but I have some stuff to get done here first. Besides its best to let the bigwigs get their daily dose of Caffeine poisoning before meetings new employees. Especially doctors. She said sipping her own cup of coffee. Anything happen while I was out?
The nurse was clearly shocked that this young doctor who had no right talking about her employer that way was. Well the patient in room 193 was having a lot of trouble sleeping. He kept demanding more pain medication. Ive been told to tell the first doctor that I saw that Dr Eggard is away and that he or she make themselves available to his patients if the nurses need them. Since youre the first one to make it through that treacherous weather you are volunteered. He said.
Jen could read the unspoken words too. The staff here clearly didnt trust her with her own patients and they wouldnt trust her with them until she had passed approval by the owners of the hospital. She nodded curtly. How do I go about doing that .Robert. She said reading the nurses nametag..
Find a nurse named Kara and let her know. He said. Ive got work to do. He turned and walked out leaving a stunned Jen staring at an empty nurses station. She turned and walked into room 193. The patient was asleep and Jen quietly checked his chart. Hed developed a cough during the night. She ordered increased fluids then went to find Kara to let her know that she was around in case anything happened. Ill have to get by Tharomar later and check in.
((Well there we have it. I am unsure as to where Jen would fit in. So Ill let the architects of this thread place her somewhere. Physical description is about 6 ft, slim but not scrawny. She has red hair which is kept short on purpose and bright green eyes with a mischievous twinkle in them. She is divorced and has no use for males for the most part. As for her home life, she lives in a modest 1 bedroom apartment with her daughter and 2 cats Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer. Anything else about her you will have to discover for yourself.)) -
This sounds like it could be fun. I'll keep my eyes out. I like the idea of a slower paced RP. I hate trudging through 14 pages of posts between the time I log out for work and when I get home. (Minimum of 9 hours.)

Carli looked up from where she was treating the victims of a group of school aged heroes who had attacked a group of hellions and suddenly found themselves outnumbered 3 to 1. She ran over calling to Mrrah. "Techie over here!" She said. She knelt down using a crystaline blade she'd found in one of the Carnivals many performances to cut apart the spandex on the fallen hero. "We've got a blunt trauma fracture of the upper 5 ribs and a punctured trachea and lung." She said. "I'm not going to be able to treat this here. We need to get him to the medical center by any means possible asap. Does anyone have any powers left who can help or if not that, than at least a drivers license and access to a car?"

"Hiya Doc, sweet to see you." Tam Khat started to wave from her position seated on a makeshift bed, but quickly winced as the aborted motion reminded her of her broken arm. "Dangest thing today, isn't it? For some odd reason, my regeneration seems.... broken." The catgirl smiled even though her ears were flat against her head.
Jen looked over and smiled a grim smile. "A lot of stuff seems broken. I can't even get my blood pressure monitor that I brought from home to work right today." She walked over and probed the arm. "You've got a shattered arm." She said scratching the Catgirl behind the ears. "What did you do attack a building and lose?"
OOC: Coldfire I took a little liberty with the wounds but I tried to be as close to what would happen if you took a building on and lost. -
Jen smiled, "Good enough. I'm alright over here. I'm leaving the severe trauma for Carli. I think she'll need backup."
Carli knew Jen well and knew that this was Jens way of keeping her from feeling alone. She smiled in her direction and whispered an unspoken thank you. "Come on Techie we've got stuff to do before that Hydra breaks free. I only wish that other medical personnel would get here. We're going to start running ragged. Oh by the way how was that Salmon I gave you?"
