I'm an Aussie mostly on Virtue then Justice.
I find Virtue/Freedom having bigger populations have enough people to find teams on, despite them being mostly early morning US players
Join the global channel "Australia" ingame to help out finding people too. -
The only things I see wrong with that is
1) you just told everyone your 'niche'
2) and you should bid in advance for salvage to pay less and make more inf.
There are a whole lot of recipes --> crafting to make profit from. Its great -
You (anyone) can also get a trial from the main CoH website. No friends required.
The trial from the website lasts 14 days. The one from refer a friend lasts 10 days but gives you a bonus if the friend signs up.
As I like my friends playing, (I'm a pusher), I pay for thier first month getting the free month on my account so works out evens for me. That way they can enjoy the game without the trial restrictions & play for a bit longer than 10/14 days. -
Quote:It would be nice if international people could enter the competition, even without gaining physical prize. This was one of the first results when I googled Contest Rules Law:
http://www.canimakebigmoneyonline.co...e-complicated/
I think the fear is that each country would have a different specific requirement, like the Canadian one mentioned. Paragon is an American company, so path of least resistance would be that they target Americans.
Or have it stated for what it is more accurately; the first annual American Architect awards.
Quote:kinda disappointed that the EU is once again passed over, however pending the outcome I'd be willing to forgive the Devteam if:

They sort out including EU accounts in future competitions

Your augment if it can be called that, of 'see how you can do it' is pretty darn juvenile. I expect people whose job it is to manage that better than generic fan #2.
Almost as meritless as 'they done it before like this so shut up'. Who'd think people would put feedback in a feedback thread.
Anyone googling "international contest" will see many international competitions. International song writing, photography. Hundards and thousands of International contests. The key in my unproffessional opinion, would be offer some contest without physical rizes. -

Cool, on wednesday I hope to join you a bit more.

I go to Virtue then Justice typically and dont have any issues findingteams on either during our times.

Quote:I played sooo much V&V in high school.Bill Willingham has ties going way back to pen-and-paper superhero gaming with Villains and Vigilantes (the chief competitor to Champions). These days he's best known for his award-winning comic series Fables.
(And kudos to CoH for getting him back into the game! Obviously I'm going to have to check out "Quest for Magic". Dare one dream of a port of Death Duel with the Destroyers?) -
Quote:The slow slow patch updates seems to be a pretty common problem, most likely related to ISP's and bandwidth throttling not speed of connection or computer.48 HOURS? That's insane.
If your download is that slow, you may have problems playing as well. Even on my old, not-even-minimum-requirement system I NEVER had a patch download that took more than 3 hours. That was with 256 megs of RAM and a 1.6 processor.
On that system I was extremely laggy anytime there was more than just me in the area. You may want to look into a system upgrade.
Also, are you on dial-up or cable?
Seen lots of rage posts about it, experienced it myself and on other computers I've installed Heroes on.
I've never been able to install the game from scratch in less than 24 hours. -
Thats good to know, though hopefully the oceanic timezone can support a few
The extronordinary eight are full, and not accepting extras.
Will read up on DUNCE, and find out what they mean by heavy RP but monday nights are't great for me, so would still like to see if more are interested.
I really like the idea of starting from level 1 with a group, at lvl 29 it would be quite different dynamic to join in. Maybe.
Plus it's nice to use this new shiney section of the board for something -
Anyone interested in a regular super team up?
I was thinking most likely mid week (tues/wed) evenings. (Oceanic time of course - yay).
Heavy emphasis on fun, normally I'm a lite role player, but a static team with a theme could make it quite fun to add a bit more RP into the carnage.
I have an idea of running through normal story arcs together, building the SG as appropriate etc etc. Possibly picking a theme like 'against the rikti' as focus or some other unifying concept.
Server _shouldnt_ matter with reg team, so maybe we pick an underused one to ensure we have character slots.
Redside/Blueside depending on majority. -

Quote:Bid low for stuff before you log off.Stupid reply, I meant everyone can enjoy it by being able to afford the IO's that they want.
I wasn't saying the IO sytem was flawed! I think the IO system is amazing. Read closer before you reply pls.
That way, there is _some_ enforced waiting time -
Quote:I agree. Not enough City Life in it to be him.Nah, this isn't C_L. It's more coherent than his usual (you can actually figure out what he's trying to say), and he's gone 5 posts now without talking about being French or how much Americans suck. Just your average doomcrier.
Just some aimless troll. -

I can see taskforces at -1 are gonning to cause big merit readjustments

Quote:I'm not talking creating the IOs, or slotting them first. Heck no! You're right, no point there. It takes me a lot longer to do a respec than clear a market rack worth more than that.
(Edited to add: You do get to move 10 over into the market, which can be worth a whole lot more, and if they're already on your character waiting to be replaced, then it's worth it. But there's no point in creating IO's to slot into the character and then moving them right back out again, so the only advantage I see is for characters with IO's that are intended to be replaced.)
I'm saying to buy 'useless' high level IOs or SOs to sit in your tray, and sell them off at the end of a respec. Buy for under 5k, sell for over 100K. Times 10.
If you have a unused second build, its easier as you dont have to worry about correctly reslotting powers and stuff. Thats about the only time to do it with higher levels.
Its more starting inf for lowbies anyhow, or a quick 1-2 million inf (depening of how many sub lvl 50 Enh you grab) if you are going to respec anyway.
Normally takes me longer than 5 minutes for a transaction slot to make 1+ million from start to finish, (days more likley waiting for low bids to fill) which is about all the time I spend on this. YMMV.

Quote:don't they sell for the crafting cost so ~200K each or 2 mil for 10? -

Quote:NC Soft (the company that makes/produces/manages) City of heroes doesnt have any other super hero games.I suppose it's just a simple quest to make more money and become famous,or there is a bigger picture I am not seeing,but..why make other super-hero online games when(I believe it to be so)CoX is on its way to becoming fantastically superior, and unbeatable?
(snip)
Why wouldnt other people/companies try to enter the same markert for games? -
With new freespecs coming, burn through the ones you already have to make some inf.
Useful mainly on poor/low level characters, a respec can earn a million* inf prety easily.
I'm sure markert regs already now this, but :
1. Buy cheap lvl50+ IO's, SO's to fill up your enhancment tray. It should cost less than 5000/ehancement. Sometimes dip into 45+ Io's.
2. Switch to dual build if you dont want to 'have' to go through a complete respec (if you are not changing powers/slots around, and just respecing for inf)
3.
4. Profit
*Actual inf earning may vary, not redeemable for novelty prizes. -
hey, well done for freeing up some very cool names.
Hope you dont regret it later though
