Quote:It's not just the challenging thing though. It's annoyance factor as well. And reward. Eg the blue side respec are dead boring easy and not run as much as the ITF. I'm sure Numina's taskforce would be run more if it wasn't so annoying hunting greys across just about every zone.
That goes for pretty much any content in any game. Remember when people thought ITFs were challenging?
Even when the ITF was considered hard, people still lined up in droves for it. More than they seem to now.
I don't mind some gimmick stuff in the itrials, but when its the same gimmick repeated to pad it out, that annoys me into not wanting to do it. -
Both ill and kin are great sets. I have an ill/kin that I did enjoy playing a lot. I used him a lot for the Old Posi TF.
Some thoughts:
Only Phantasm gets the benefit from the kin buffs like FS.
The knock back on Decoys/Phantasm can interfere with the more close combat buffing style of kin.
Siphon speed is a great help for getting Decoys out more. Grab hasten as the more you have PA out, the better, safer and more damage you'll do.
Superior Invisibility is an End Hog, but a lot of fun with confuse and useful with recall friend on TFs -
My ICE/SS tank is at the point I want to IO it out. Thanks to altitiss it's taken a while.
It's the only tank I've gotten up to this level, enjoying it a lot but I'm pretty certain my intended build isn't as good as it could be.
I'm concerned my recharge isn't enough, esp. without hasten and it bothers me slightly that L/S def is 44.8 not 45% - EA will cap that but was hoping to have S/L/E/N capped before that, and use EA for itrial mob coverage.
Is fire def a non issue, or just something I will have to suck up?
I have probably over slotted for recovery.
I choose leap attack, as feel staved for AoE with SS.
Random advice on help channel had someone informing me that aid self was better choice than hoarfrost? That seemed wrong to me but ?

I'm sure if it had some stealth (equal to superspeed) it would of been an auto purchase for a lot more people.
I'm glad it got the run speed boost. The detoggling is something I'm sure they are aware stops people from purchasing it. -

Quote:The day job accolade is pretty nice - heal other. That's the only thing that annoys me about the redside one being a higher level to do, but that range (edit at red side level range) I don't really need the temp power.why? you can't go into Cim until 35 anyways and its not like there is anything in the MC that actually matters with the new tram system.
I see the issue as pretty much closing something that wasn't WAI (gaining access without doing the arc at all).
I normally do it pretty early, as hunting greys with that wand recharge is boring, and I'd rather pick a few lost radio missions in steel to use it with. -
Tried a mission and it was too dangerous to enter with LFG active.

You get a min of two character slots. depending on old vet rewards and purchases etc you may have more.
You get to pick which characters to unlock. You can pick an empty slot to create a new character as one of your unlocks, or existing characters.
It's possible to unlock a character you can't use e.g. if you dont also have access to controllers or masterminds and pick one of them.
I suggest after going premium you check your reward chart to make sure if you wanted to unlock a controller etc. -
Virtue SLAMs tend to do the acids still.
-
I think it works by teleporting people to the TF contact, which would be slower than having the rest of team ready at the mission door.
-
If you pick crab, you can't ever get rid of the backpack. This bothers some people when they pick crab, and respec into a different non crab build and still have the extra legs.
If that doesn't bother you, I strongly suggest dual builds. You get to level two very good characters for the price of one.
Changing between them for utility or whim is very handy. Team needs stealth/melee switch to bane, need ranged AoE, go to crab.
Both will do more than well enough with Standard IOs (or SOs) and the def powers to let you see if you want to spend to IO one or both sides out at 47+
FWIW: The mace mastery pool lets you pick a few bane like mace powers on a crab (shatter and web grenade but no sweet sweet crowd control). If its mainly the stealth in cloaking device you want, its possible to gain similar stealth ability (but not crit chance) by using two of the following: Stealth IO (2 A merits or 100-200 mil inf), super speed, and tealth from the power pool.
You need to be a villain or rogue to do the patron missions to unlock the pools. You don't get the hero side epic pools ever. -
Quote:It wasn't just 'farmers' who picked it at the time.No. As released, Ion jumps were effected by +damage from sources other than the alpha slot. This lead to people hitting for 1500+ damage per target.
So farmers took it and ran with it until it changed. Even after the correction, Ion can hit up to 44 targets in a larger area than other judgements.
It's still picked very commonly now. I'd say the hitting around corners, a good damage type, the no need to position or aim are the bigger reasons for its popularity than fond memories about an old bug. -

Not sure if this is known already, but if you queue before going to your SG/VG base, the LFG will pull you from there into the turnstile, at least for the DfB event.
Was quite surprised and pleased so making sure others know
Has this been around a while and I just haven't noticed? -
Thanks for correction. I'm not following threads much, and last I looked in beta I thought it was identical to beast run but with the suppressed toggles killing sprint/swift. Really glad that's not the case. Makes me think more about getting it instead of an instant look away.
-
Grant invis will only make the brutes/tank think they are losing agro (being +stealth not -threat).
Vengence might be a better pick, so you can also join teams looking for a healor. -
Or when it is as fast as beastrun/ninja jump +swift +sprint.
Otherwise slower travel and detoggling and expecting to be charged same high price for similar skins = no sale.
No enough in the carnie pack to be worth my points. I like them, and dont care about the balance but I don't want to encourage smaller packs for same prices. We've lost enough value no longer having super packs with emotes/power/costumes. -
The cynic in me says just report to > dev null when it comes to forum issues.
-
No idea why the level range jump.
I just ignore the contact most times rather than doing the invention. Just because the contact is there doesn't mean you have to do it. It will eventually go to the bottom of the list. -
Fun People. For whom the fun is in playing in a team.
Hate people who are 'we need a tank, heals etc', or grumpy dictator sorts -
Quote:They give a tiny amount of Inf.Uncannily I was on one of those teams- "The glowies DO NOT DO ANYTHING so DO NOT CLICK THEM." Not enough to say once but I think even they got bored after the 5 repetition.
But, now here is the question, if they don't do anything why not click them? (you fxxking control freak!)
I tend to ask before glowie clicking in case the leader is touchy.
Aside from farms, the main time to make sure you let the mission holder do the clicking is the side missions on the safeguards/mayhems. Only the glowie clicker gets the temp power or afaik gets credit for bombs. -
Pressing one of those itty bitty buttons (I've noticed that the devs seem to have great eye sight or huge monitors) is a short cut for selecting which channel your text will go to.
Its often easier just to click the current name eg the word broadcast and select from the list.
The ingame help (press H and lookunder social) has some good info on how to use the differnet chat channels.
Lots of people use global chat channels for teaming and social functions. Each server has thier own main ones, and they let you talk across red/blue/goldside or across servers (shards) though mostly they are used for forming teams within a server.
You can right click an empty bit of the chat window and do a channel search. Try with the name of your server, eg virtue will bring up virtue TFs (virtue taskforces), RP Virtue (for role play teams) and virtue LFG beta (general teaming). SOme servers thebusy ones might be servername badge etc etc. Check the forum for your server to find out which is used, should be a sticky.
They well worth checking out, it will open lots of teaming choices.
Also, welcome to the game. -
You can get very minor toxic resist from a base empowerment station too.
-
My guess is Fort Trident/The Crucible. As DarkGob mentioned about those places, you trade in hero/villian merits there and has some Teleporters.
