Just checked it out. It looks great, just the black background is stretched on the right side of the page. Still looks good regardless though.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah I was a bit worried that was happen. It took some creativity to get a background in there given wikitext doesn't allow CSS that uses url for a backgorund image. Had to use two divs and z indexes to make it work.
Something to fix tomorrow. -

Just did a big update to the page and Category for SCORPIO.
Category:S.C.O.R.P.I.O.
Getting the background image to work was tricky, but fun. Unfortunately not yet tested in Firefox so it could be wonky. Works in Chrome and IE 7. -
Passing along a message from Kadekawa. Wiki is going to be locked for maintenance most of tonight. Editing should be unlocked later this evening.
-
The Shinsengumi is a RP PVP group with a fairly serious contingent of PVPers. I'd contact Lunar Wing (@Ramael) in game. They're good people.

If SCORPIO doesn't pan out for you, give the Guardian Angels a look if you like. Though it does sound like they might be closer to what you're looking for, so good luck with 'em. I don't know any of them but their concept is very cool.

That's true, it is cool. :P

The man lies! We torture orphans...
No really on the topic at hand I've always been more for the "realistic" themes. Vigilantes, mercenaries, normal people who fight against mounting odds. Normal people who just happen to be really good at what they do.
I struggled the few times I tried to play the classic cape, I had trouble getting into the theme. I've been part of two more realistic groups now and loved both.
I guess its kinda the difference between say the Marvel Universe and the Marvel Max universe. Little bit more gritty, little bit less glamor and shine. And characters I have an easier time relating to.
Well ok, and playing the tough as nails rifle and explosives toting chick is just fun. -

I should've been more explicit. We the players are generating story content several times the total mission content of Coh and Cov combined. In essense, we are doing the devs work for them.
It is an explosion of content that added a lot more to do in a game that became a boring pattern after you levelled you first few 50s.
"Adding value to the IP" is the key phrase. Instead of "Wow they are increasing the value of our property," its "Ooo how can we capitalize more on their creative impulse."
The players writing quality arcs and enriching the game are rewarding the devs and publisher, not the other way around.
[/ QUOTE ]
Except for the fact that they're busy putting a whole nother game on the level of CoV together with Going Rogue. >_> -
I'd love more detail on Battalion.
How did the war between then and the Rikti go? What were they like? Why did they go to war? What sort of race were they?
Even just a tiny amount of teaser info would rock we have almost nothing on them besides a single reference (AFAIK). -

What's an iPod? *Still listen to 8 Track.*
[/ QUOTE ]
My first car, that I drove to high school in the early 90s, was a 1978 Mercury Grand Marquis and it had a functioning 8 track player. It was later given to one of my uncles who turned it into a shrimp boat (the car, not the 8 track player.) I've always assumed he did this by simply attaching some nets to it, since it was already fairly boat-like.
Some may wonder..."BABs! What the heck are you posting this for, here in the Guardian forums?"
The answer is, cause some of the people over in Justice are getting all cocky about the number of viewers their section has right now, and I'm proving a point that maybe that has more to do with a link to their section through the dev digest than how awesome Justice is. Don't get me wrong...Justice is awesome. But all the servers are awesome in their own way.
"But BABs...why change the title of the subject line?"
Cause I really want to prove the point. *waves to all the people looking for details about the expansion*
"But BABs...that's cheating!"
Yes.
[/ QUOTE ]
Haha my first car was a 1981 Mercury Grand Marquis. Man those cars were boats. Ah back when gas was under a dollar, and that car could suck gas through the carborator like no bodies business. But driving it really was like riding in a boat, we always joked that it had at least a 8 body trunk if you stacked them...
Mine didn't even have a tape deck, it just had the old FM/AM radio tuner with the big silver knobs. It had originally been my grandfathers. So it smelled like stale pabst blue ribbon and unfiltered pall malls.
It also leaked oil and transmission fluid...
Funnily enough its still up and around back home and on its third high school student. Albeit with a new engine.
I kinda miss that car. -

That is really exceptional. Very spyish in deed! I love the sort of Avengers feel to it (Steed and Peel Avengers, that is).
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually now that you mention it, it really does. I hadn't even made that connection. -
He does commissions periodically and the prices are definitely fair considering how phenomenal the final piece is. And he's really fun to work with.
His call for commissions are normally posted on his journal.
Realized I should have posted this in the OP. Doh -
I got a chance to commission Aaron Acevedo, so I jumped on the opportunity and received an amazing commission piece in return.
Aaron does some amazing work and I was looking for something with that sort of spy movie feel and I think he definitely nailed it on the head.
The picture is of S.C.O.R.P.I.O. Deputy Director Cherry 9, and Grey Razor Operative code named Outrider.

Sheesh they're slow to the drama train.
We're already on to the new hawtness, Going Rogue! -
Gah can they unfix this please? I now how to reconsider how I'm going to do a large portion of our base.

It doesn't hurt for everyone on the team to go to Bloody Bay and pick up a Shivan. That detour is less time than experiencing multiple team wipes.
[/ QUOTE ]
And this is why I'll never do a STF, a LRSF, or Hamidon raid, as you seem to be expected to have a shivan and a nuke or two for those. I haven't been in a PvP zone since Issue 6 went live, and I'm not about to go in one now.
[/ QUOTE ]
Never used Shivans or Nukes on an STF, personally. But we're usually either doing Master runs, where nukes and shivs (or deaths) aren't allowed; or quick runs, where we're done in under an hour and have an optimized team. Only did one PuG STF, and that was... unpleasant.
[/ QUOTE ]
Used Shivans and Nukes ala a LRSF on a STF once, with a COMPLETELY unbalanced team.
It was fun. >_<
Was like a bunch of Kat scrappers a kin/psi fender a emp troller a energy blaster and a invuln/WM tank.
Good times. -

[/ QUOTE ]nukes and shivans.... are nowhere near the norm for Hami raids.
[/ QUOTE ]
Shivans no, we do use Bionukes red side though for the brutes and the yellow assault. Its not necessary but really I think we like it
But plenty of times we've done raids without them, its just sort of an added bonus if people happen to come and have them and are willing to use them. -

4 Crab Spiders, 2 Bane Spiders, 2 Fortunata. ITF. Pwnt.
Wonder how we'll handle the STF after Going Rogue...? =-3

I thought this was gonna be about a /logout slash command. There's /quit, but that goes to desktop and isn't quite it.
[/ QUOTE ]
This would be awesome.
I don't mind logging back in myself but I hate having to use the menu to logout.
Dang you devs forcing me to use my mouse! -
I'd take a ITF and a STF over a LRSF anyday for a PuG.
Least your average PuG group can still do a ITF and a STF as long as the leader knows what they're doing.
The LRSF can fail quite quickly and easily without a good solid team.
Rom can be an initial pain but his pet Nicti aren't that hard, as long as you have enough DPS and some debuff you just ignore the Nicti and go straight for Rom.
Rinse and repeat. -
I started with COV...
I remember when
-- Flamethrowers, specifically longbow meant doom to a MM because there was no such thing as bodyguard.
-- Longbow Spec-Ops sapped end like Malta sappers
-- There was no grandville.
-- When the Grandville flyer was broken and the devs didn't believe anyone.
-- When no one could figure out how to spawn Caleb.
-- Elite bosses didn't exist. AVs didn't scale down.
-- AVs got buffed too high and were nigh impossible to kill for several weeks.
-- The only way to get into Founders Falls was from Talos. No train, no pocket D, no Ouro.
-- When the second pet buff for Masterminds was something you were lucky to get on two or three of your pets a mission. It had like a 3-4 minute recharge.
-- When you had to buff each MM pet individually. -
I'm on Vista 64, since I moved to Vista neither my g11 or my razer diamondback mouse has worked.
I sorely miss my mouse buttons and holding down the scroll wheel to move my camera. -
Nope still broken for me at least. DBServer error on Virtue.

Honestly it could be something as simple as a car crash. All it takes is a car plowing through some major node then boom. Broken internetz.
