MA Story Slots On Sale Now ~Discussion~

When I try, I get:
"Payment could not be accepted for your order."
Then:
"Product distribution failed"
I tried typing in a bogus password to make sure it wasn't just an account validation problem, and I got a different error, "Your NCsoft Master Account password was not verified," so it's not a password problem. I'm getting the "Confirm This Payment" box with the product description and price, and my credit card on file is the same one I use to pay for my game account, and it's still valid and not expired.
Also, there's no option in the online store to buy just one slot for $5.99, only two for $9.99 or five for $19.99.
We've been saving Paragon City for eight and a half years. It's time to do it one more time.

Just tried to purchase them and it is still giving me the payment can not be accepted message like it did when it glitched into existance at launch - also they arent showing the 1 slot one, only 2 and 5 - which isnt a real problem for me since i am going straight to 5 extra - have a back log of 15 arcs atm )

This is what I get as well. Trying for the 5-slot increment at $19.99. I know the store worked recently cuz I just bought five server slots yesterday for Freedom, and that processed immediately.

Niv: To confirm, if you have a story flagged as Dev Choice or Hall of Fame, that will allow you to get beyond the 8 designated slots, to a potential maximum of 10 slots, correct? (I recall a redname stating this recently, but wanted to doublecheck.)

Still awaiting the restoration of the Crey Reverent Hero Project map and the addition of Peacebringer and Warshade pools for custom critters before purchasing any slots.
Wow, I can't believe no one has said this yet. This is ridiculous, what ever happened to earning things in game? Pretty soon, we're going to have to pay for everything in this game, I can see it now. I for one, am not buying anything, I'm boycotting this. 
At least give out a free one like you did with character slots. Heck, even that was bs.

The disturbing thing is , I wouldn't be surprised if the Dev's pulled that crap on the Base Builders crowd.

I'm fine with microtransaction add-ons like that, if it means I can finally get some uber-cool stuff I really really want for my base.

I have no problem giving more money to a game i love and getting something i really want in return as oppose to them raising the monthly service fee. Some people can use this complaint about the various pack, but in this case it is slightly diffrent. In order for them to allow for more slots they all most certainly had to do a major upgrade to the Architect server to handle the load, this is the original reason only 3 was allowed. Enough people asked for it that they finally decided to do it, most assuredly at no small cost to themselves, so i really wont fault them for doing it this way.
I've said elsewhere that we the players are adding value to the CoX IP when we add story content. We are improving a product we don't own, creating or retaining incentive for subscribers to play the game. And we have to pay for the privilege of doing this?
(Imho the game was stagnant before AE was released.)
Micro-transactions suck in general, squeezing more money out of us. But in this case those hard-working creative people generating content in AE should get something in return. If a free slot is not forthcoming, at least make additional story slots earnable or a veteran reward.
In general it would be nice to see architects rewarded for their efforts instead of just having another hand shoved at 'em and being told "Gimme."
(Btw I have no personal stake in this. I gave up on the arcs I wanted to publish out of frustration from all the patches and invalidations. I might take 'em up again now that the sytem is supposed to be more stable.)

They gave everyone 3 free slots, including you. If you choose to go above the free amount, you can buy additional slots. You're not being forced to buy this.
(Happy to give his CC info to NCSoft for this, yesterday's 5-char slot purchase, and the previous booster packs. Why? Because they add to my enjoyment beyond the normal confines of the game. Hooray, capitalism.)

By having a story marked Hall of Fame or Dev's Choice, you CAN earn an extra slot (in a manner of speaking).
Also, people that rate your arcs 3 or more stars give you tickets that you can claim with any character on that account. If you make an arc that gets a lot of plays and high ratings, you get a lot of tickets. How you use them is up to you, but they are an in-game reward for making good arcs.

Just can't stop designing Mission Architect game play masterpieces? Well now you can increase your repertoire! Additional Mission Architect story slots are available for purchase (1, 2 or 5 them for $5.99, $9.99, and $19.99 respectively) up to a maximum of eight slots per game account.
Note: Existing rules applicable to inherent story slots also apply to purchased story slots. Having one of your published stories awarded with Dev's Choice will free up one of your slots but getting one of your published stories suspended will result in that particular slot being unavailable for the duration of the suspension.
What are you waiting for? Put those creative juices to work! Login to the character select screen and click on the "Enter Store" to buy additional story slots and then share your new design creations with your City of Heroes® brethren!
