Theme/Concept: A secret society who works in relative anonimity to subtly shift the balance of power. The Paragon chapter is one of several around the world, all dedicated to making the world a better place through precise, critical strikes. Few outside the Codex know that the group exists - or at least that's how it should be. Recently, outside forces have begun to circle in on the group, and it is up to the members to unravel the mystery of their origins before they are exposed to the world... or worse.
Activity: We have 40-50 characters from about 25-30 players. Our playerbase is multi-national, from the UK, Canada, the US, Australia and Japan, so there is usually someone on most times of the day.
Requirements for Membership: Must be interested in RP and willing to take initiative. If you're interested, fill out an application on our site. Be sure to read the format, as it's a rather unique application.

We have a tier 5 plot Hero base and a tier 3 villain base. (Yes with teleporters to the major zones, come on, what ever happened to walking? :P), with 3rd level buffers, storage for inspirations. (take a penny, leave a penny), medibot (the inspiration vending machine!) a lovely meeting hall that seats 100 easy at one time, a Executive meeting room, and a lab. The bases are a flawless mixture of Magic and Tech, all origins welcome however. We attempt to schedule at least one TF a week, with hopes of others who can lead them too.

Currently Recruiting: We are currently recruiting new members!!! We have an ACTIVE SG that has a mix of new players all the way up to 60 month vets. We accept all ATs and levels as well as levels of play be it the hard core gamer to the average weekender.
RP Level: RP-friendly
We do not hold RP sessions. Most of us do not RP BUT we do have some that do and like to stay in character and we play along with them because it's fun so I guess you could say we are RP-friendly - light.
PvP Level: We have been known to arena and zone PvP when the idea hits us. We have coalition members who PvP and have been known to take over the PvP zones or hit the arena.
Theme/Concept: Avante Guard has a laid back atmosphere where people can mix, mingle and team. We do not have a theme we just simply are and it's a concept that has worked very well for us. We do not hold meetings or have attendance requirments, we like to allow our members to play at their pace. We accept all genders/ATs/lvls. The one rule is NO DRAMA!
Activity: Mid afternoon to early/late evening EAST time seems to be our peek hours. We seem to always have at least one person on and upwards of 15-20 during our peek time, daily.
Requirements for Membership:
We have a 45 day inactivity rule, anyone who hasn't logged in in 45 days will be removed from the SG. There are exceptions made for those who have given notice of a break in game for RL/personal reasons.
We ask you play in SG mode and have reasonable prestige goals that must be made within the first 15 days of membership since we are close to capacity.
We also have a reserve SG, Avante Guard Reserves that alt toons are welcome to join without the pressure of having to meet prestige requirements.

The Knight Groups
PARAGONIAN KNIGHTS
The Knights are largely comprised of mature adult players but we invite all ages to apply. We were formed around the ideal of having fun and forging lasting friendships. Play times for Knights cover many different time zones so it is not unusual to find a Knight on all times of the day. The leadership of the SG strives to make every members experience with the Knights in City of Heroes as enjoyable and free of drama as possible. This group is among the Top 100 Groups on the server.
2ND BATTALION
The Paragonian Knights 2nd Battalion is not an alt group for the PK main, but a strong SG that stands on its own. This group is among the Top 100 Groups on the server.
SISTERHOOD OF PARAGONIAN KNIGHTS
To be a member of the Sisterhood of Paragonian Knights, one needs only be a female character and have a willingness to have a good time. The Sisterhood is based around fun and friendship above all else along with some light-hearted role-playing. You can have as many characters in this faction as you like. All players are welcome to apply for membership if they meet those criteria.
HONOR BATTALION
The Honor Battalion is our moderate Role-Playing supergroup. All of the members of this group have characters in the other Knight supergroups as well. The Honor Battalion is role-played as a Special Operations branch of the Paragonian Knights. There are currently several RP storylines being played out in this group which are open to new players. You must be a member of the PK, 2nd Battalion or Sisterhood for one month before being considered for membership in this group. This group is extremely active and climbing the Top 100 Groups on the server.
THE GRAE ACADEMY
The Paragonian Knights - The Grae Academy or The Academy is for heavy Role-players only. All communication, unless indicated, is in-character. All members must be role-played into the group with one of the Teachers, Administrators or in rare cases the Student Body President. You must be a member of the Paragonian Knights, 2nd Battalion, or Sisterhood for one month before being considered for membership in this group. The group has some specific requirements that must be maintained to remain a member. Since this is a school for young heroes, teachers are required to teach monthly classes and students are required to attend at least one class per month.
LEGENDS
The Paragonian Knight Legends are only for knights that have achieved security level 50 status in the City of Heroes. This faction is for level 50 characters that are retired and rarely played. Members of this group will never be kicked due to lapse in activity.
ELITES
The Paragonian Knight Elites are only for knights that have achieved security level 50 status in the City of Heroes. This is the more active level 50 group. The Elites have a raid capable base and participate in end-game content such as PvP, Raids, and Task Forces. There is no activity requirement for this group but if capacity is met the least active will be removed and offered a spot on the Legends roster.
To be a member of any of our Villain Groups, the player must first have a hero if the Knights.
ROGUE KNIGHTS
The Rogue Knights is the City of Villains branch of the Paragonian Knights. They operate under the same guidelines as the Paragonian Knights. Even though the group is comprised of villains, all members are expected to treat each other and other players with respect. All current Knights are automatically granted acceptance into the RK upon creating a new villain. The Rogue Knights are a Top 100 SG on Virtue.
KNIGHTMARES
The Rogue Knights Knightmares is the level 50 group for the Rogue Knights. To be a member the character must have hit level 50 and does not get as much play time as other alts.
TERROR LEGION
The Rogue Knights Terror Legion is our role-playing group on CoV. To become a member of the TL, a player must first be a member of one of our other supergroups. The Terror Legion is also the group we base our superteams.
The Paragonian Knights have an excellent and extremely active website and forums. We are currently the largest City of Heroes/City of Villains web site on Guild Portal with over 1,000 members and growing. We have hosted over 1,500 events to date. Theme/Concept: As Previously stated, our main goal is to provide an SG that is focused to find unknown talent from throughout CoH. Our secondary goals after we have found you is to mold you into better players and hopefully leaders so you can help train new players and give them the foundation to build a better tomorrow for other new and unknown players.

Centered around a popular King's Row Nightspot, a Metahumans only Posh Private club called the Abbey, owned and operated by the former NPI Headmaster Galen Mentalis, The group called dubbed themselves 'The Templars' . Both Protectors of the city and the club they now rallied around as a meeting place!
Where once N.P.I. stood to gain equal ground and secure a future for just Mutants, the Templars now seek to maintain that same goal for all Metahumans everywhere , while maintining law and order protecting the City and society that has become their home!
Activity: We are a small but dedicated group of rpers who have been around since Beta and have several on going RP sl's in progress at any given time. RP Level: We are a light-heavy RP Super group. With a basic on going storyline. Its light enough that new RPers can quickly begin becoming a part of it but also enough that heavy rpers will enjoy the evolving aspect of it.
PvP Level: casual - this is at best. Pvp is welcome but not particualry focused on.
Theme/Concept: Warriors do not come from any one origin or any one type. They may or may not have powers- what seperates a warrior from others is his/her spirit. In the modern world it is difficult to foster said warrior spirit. The Exodus Order are comprised of such people. They are part of the exodus to Paragon city... warriors drawn too the potential to live as their spirit and soul demands of paragon city. The order attempts to locate and train other warriors as well as protect their new home. However even when not fighting for justice, they continue to train and push themselves. The difference between a solider and warrior is quite large at times...
Activity: We are just starting up- which is why the story is still so basic. We currently only have 3 active members but we hope to quickly change that!

Other Details: The base is under construction but quickly growing. It is meant more as a meeting place than anything else, but it does have a reclamator and a teleport bay in the works.
One of the purposes I list for this supergroup is character development through gameplay. I believe that the best roleplaying occurs when actually teaming up and doing missions. Several RP events are planned with continuing storylines, and members are encouraged to start their own storylines (and with the architect, this will be much easier).

RP Level: Zero to Casual. Most Hero Dawn members don't RP, but that has never stopped us with teaming and working with people who like to RP.
PvP Level: Little to Casual. We have members who can be found in PvP zones often, and are preparing to assemble a tight raid team when the feature is fixed and released for CoH.
Theme/Concept: We have no real 'concept' except we are just a group of friendly, dedicated casual players who like to get the most out of the game by playing with other people of the same caliber!
Activity: Having around 141 members in the group we almost always have people in the SG doing things, and never mind to have people come along. Though most of the things we do are spontaneous we are always doing some form of Task Forces, SG member's Mission Architect Arcs, Rikti/Hamidon raid teams, etc. You can always find something to do between our SG and coalition friends. In addition, about every two months Hero Dawn strives to put on some of the very best player events/parties around.

SCORPIO is dedicated to protecting the nations and peoples of Earth from terrorists and all technologically-advanced, extraterrestrial, psionic, superhuman, occult, paranormal and supernatural menaces, and often assists such organizations as Longbow as well as other 'super'hero groups in apprehending threats to national security and world peace.

Activity: We have an extremely active core member base of 20+ people. We have people online in almost all times of the day seven days a week.
Requirements for Membership:
- Application: Our online application should be filled out in as much detail as possible. Tell us about your character, what they've done, who they are, and how they may have come to the attention of SCORPIO.
- Maturity: As a rule all members should be over the age of 17. This is a roleplaying group and deals with themes of military styled combat, covert operations and lethal force. You should be able to speak maturely both IC and OOC.
- Inactivity: We realize that Real Life always comes first, however if you cannot log-in for an extended period of time, you should notify the group at once... as is courteous. We have a 30 day rule for unexplained absences, 90 days for explained absences. In both situations the character will be removed, but players are welcome to rejoin once they've returned to the game.
- Communication: Communication both IC and OOC is very important and should be clear. ALL CHARACTER PLAYERS must set up and use the global chat channel for out-of-character (OOC) chat.
- Levels: There are no Minimum or Maximum requires for levels. We welcome new characters and existing characters alike.

Not even the cool breeze of an autumn day is enough to keep Bridgit Mathews from feeling the fiery vengeance of the last rays of a shortening sun as it sinks westward. Having spent the afternoon walking around most of Atlas Park and Galaxy City, she pauses against a telephone pole in Constellation Row and wipes her sweat-beaded forehead on her t-shirt hem - the epitome of ladylike behaviour as always. A nearly-empty roll of clear packing tape hangs off her belt, and she looks down at her ink-stained hands before her comm beeps softly.
"Mathews," she answers gruffly, flipping the comm open.
"Hi, beautiful." The warm bass of her husband, Justin Mathews, rumbles through the airwaves. "Almost done here in Kings Row. How about you?"
"Hi, handsome." The redhead smiles, squinting through her glasses to watch the sun sink down slowly before answering. "Yeah, I'm out of flyers. How about we meet for dinner? I'm starved."
As she continues on her conversation with the hero known as Mr Mountie, the last few motes of the setting sun's light catch the gold-coloured flyer she'd just finished taping to the pole.
It's fairly simple, printed on gold-toned paper, but it gets its point across.
Name: The Overbrookers
Currently Recruiting: A brand new supergroup looking for new members - we're small, but feisty and looking to grow! We're focused on creating a high quality RP environment, and our aim is to remain close-knit enough that characters can feasibly remember everyone's name and information about them easily.
RP Level: We are always IC, but that doesn't mean we don't talk OOC! Any OOC discussion is indicated by some form of brackets, or identification that it's OOC.
PvP Level: Minimal to none. Occasionally if a story calls for it, we'll venture into a PvP zone or arrange an arena match, but we certainly couldn't be considered too interested in PvP.
Theme/Concept: Although the above image link talks about what we're about, the short of it is it was founded, ICly, by two experienced heroes who were worried about brand new heroes and their lack of experience. Not wanting to quite hang up the cape yet, Bridgit and Justin have decided to offer a hands-on, quasi-educational and family-oriented environment to help and teach new heroes, as well as providing a home for more experienced heroes to pass on their knowledge as well.
Activity: Because we are small and new, we currently have less than ten individual players in the group, but we are always looking for more like-minded players to create a fun, story-rich environment. Our players are mature, sensible and creative - but we have a silly streak in us too, and we all have wicked senses of humour!
Most of our players are in the Eastern Timezone, and we're usually most active after 5 pm during the week, and all day during the weekends (unless real life interferes). We're on the game every day, either on our Overbrookers characters or one of our others.
Requirements for Membership: Our requirements for membership are that you remain active - preferably at least logging in once a week for our SG nights. We encourage teaming with fellow members, and contributing to IC chatter on the channels. Please put some thought into your character and how dedicated you want to be to them before you apply to the group - we put our best forward, and we encourage you to do the same!
We require that anyone interested in joining The Overbrookers visit our forums and follow the application instructions posted in the Applications forum. It's easy, straight forward, and it will get you an interview with Bridgit and Justin to size up your fit for the group.

Other Details: We are dedicated to creating a fun, immersive group environment through RP and story-telling both in game and on our forums. Creative writing is encouraged, and anything that encourages participation is always welcomed.
We ask that you run in supergroup mode whenever possible, and if you're new to the game, or need help funding your character, just ask either Bridgit or Justin and they'll be happy to help you with influence or anything else you might need.
Our base is small, and cluttered, and not half as beautiful as most groups - but it's a rented warehouse in Faultline being converted to a 'base' by two heroes and their friends, paid for out of their pocket, and done as a labour of love. Everything in the base has a function and an IC reason to be there, and we plan to keep it that way!
We currently have 'Overbrookers Night', every Tuesday at 7:30 pm EST, where we mingle, run missions, RP and whatever else comes to mind at the time.
We do have a uniform, but it isn't mandatory and while we'd love to see everyone in our look, we don't require it.

I made the group about four years ago, never really tried to get members, but that is going to Change today, with the vast amount of new players that have gained levels, due to the AE I have realized that maybe now it is time to fill the ranks.
What is the Idea behind the legion of the Dammed? Well basically its a RP guild for Alts at the moment.
But what I will try and do is build an all purpose Guild with a theme. The theme is basic, former villains, poorer less flashy heros, social outcasts, anyone who for one reason or another just doesnt have it easy being good, but they do good in spite they really should be an evil villain. ...and it's not insulting to call RPers wakos. RP level IS a good thing to list in a SG recruiting thread so people know if you do or don't, just like PvP and so on.
Considering Virtue is and has always been the unofficial gathering spot for the bulk of RPers, chosen before the game even launched, and the bulk of the population consisted of RPers (which is what baited the non RPers who can't handle Freedom to the server "I want a high pop, but not the highest...") you're just like a vegetarian who goes into a steakhouse and is offended by all the meat.
There is no "goal" of making non-RPers unwelcome, there are plenty of people who are not interested in RP who are great people, great players, and don't feel they have to annoy, harass, or insult others who enjoy things they don't... and there are plenty who do come along specifically to grief people just trying to enjoy their game their way. The latter is definitely unwelcome.
I wish you much success in your recruiting. It's much easier to avoid "unwelcome" people when they all willingly label themselves with their own rosa winkel (in this case: the same SG tag).

Currently Recruiting: Yes. We're open to anyone who is interested in our theme and who is easy going. We're more interested in fun than in being the best.
We also have a few spots in our Static Team that are now open (more details below) which we'd be happy to fill in.
We're open to anyone from the loner who occasionally wants SG chat to pay attention to, to the vet who just wants a relaxed atmosphere now and again. I'd like to encourage new players to join us as so far I have never met a group more relaxed and willing to help in a non-demeaning way. Sure, we're tiny right now... that just means you can actually get to know everyone in the team.

Our static team runs the gamut from RP to non and for the general membership all I require is no member of the Daybreak Patrol give grief to those who RP - In the Daybreakers or outside of it.
PvP Level: None so far but everyone can choose for themselves.
Theme/Concept: RP wise, the Daybreak Patrol was formed by Chief Conrad Bochco
to have more "super powered" volunteers patrolling Paragon City during the early morning hours when most of the capes have gone to bed. To do this he requested new prototypes for the PPD's Powered Armor Division from all the leading tech companies on the premise there was a new contract to bid on. The original prototypes make up the current Daybreaker static team. Since then private funding has been found to continue the Daybreak Patrol and to expand it, both in numbers and in hours. Thus we are now searching for more recruits to don their armor and patrol the streets, sewers and skies of Paragon City...
Non-RP, we started as a static team of 8. Several never really showed and we're looking to replace those 3 as well as open up the group to a general membership. Several of us have found we really like the theme and concept and wanted to play outside our regular Tues/Thursday 9am static team...
Activity: We are tiny currently and don't necessarily want to become the biggest, just one of the most relaxed, easy going, cooperative groups...
