Oh yeah, me too. My computer's a fussy thing at the best of times, so I was getting ready to get all stink-eyed at my modem and/or laptop.

I'd like to think I'm a pretty relaxed person, but when I couldn't log in and I checked server status to see that, I was kind of annoyed. I can live without an explanation, but can the server status stay up to date at least, please? Then I can just refresh it when I walk by my computer again.

Yeah, I Spy starred Bill Cosby and Robert Culp. Many years later they did a reunion movie in the 80s. I'm still trying to forget I ever saw it and just stick with the 60s series. Sort of how Batman fans would rather remember Adam West and Burt Ward being 'chums' instead of anything Joel Schumacher did in the 90s.

Aw, I'm sorry! I'll share cookies from here in spirit to help lessen the sting. >_>

I've never got into CoD. After watching my little brother play I realized I can't swear half as well as he can to keep up with the folks on XBL.

I'm just glad that it's everyone and not me, phew. Kind of sucks that the game won't let me log in yet, but I'm sure I can keep myself occupied until it's up.

It's a cold, rainy day - so it's time for cookie baking and sitting down with my neglected 360 and The Saboteur (or Mass Effect 2 if I feel like mimicking a blaster). What are y'all doing while you're waiting?
  8. Happened to our team tonight too. Every time he got to half health, the MMs would open up with the temp power, and he'd still be 'UNAFFECTED'.

And we were beating his face for over an hour, thinking we were doin' it wrong.
  9. Thank you for participating, everyone! It was fun.

As always, if you're looking for a small-knit, friendly RP SG, we're recruiting!
  10. Not even the cool breeze of an autumn day is enough to keep Bridgit Mathews from feeling the fiery vengeance of the last rays of a shortening sun as it sinks westward. Having spent the afternoon walking around most of Atlas Park and Galaxy City, she pauses against a telephone pole in Constellation Row and wipes her sweat-beaded forehead on her t-shirt hem - the epitome of ladylike behaviour as always. A nearly-empty roll of clear packing tape hangs off her belt, and she looks down at her ink-stained hands before her comm beeps softly.

"Mathews," she answers gruffly, flipping the comm open.
"Hi, beautiful." The warm bass of her husband, Justin Mathews, rumbles through the airwaves. "Almost done here in Kings Row. How about you?"
"Hi, handsome." The redhead smiles, squinting through her glasses to watch the sun sink down slowly before answering. "Yeah, I'm out of flyers. How about we meet for dinner? I'm starved."

As she continues on her conversation with the hero known as Mr Mountie, the last few motes of the setting sun's light catch the gold-coloured flyer she'd just finished taping to the pole.

It's fairly simple, printed on gold-toned paper, but it gets its point across.

    Name: The Overbrookers

Currently Recruiting: A brand new supergroup looking for new members - we're small, but feisty and looking to grow! We're focused on creating a high quality RP environment, and our aim is to remain close-knit enough that characters can feasibly remember everyone's name and information about them easily.

RP Level: We are always IC, but that doesn't mean we don't talk OOC! Any OOC discussion is indicated by some form of brackets, or identification that it's OOC.

PvP Level: Minimal to none. Occasionally if a story calls for it, we'll venture into a PvP zone or arrange an arena match, but we certainly couldn't be considered too interested in PvP.

Theme/Concept: Although the above image link talks about what we're about, the short of it is it was founded, ICly, by two experienced heroes who were worried about brand new heroes and their lack of experience. Not wanting to quite hang up the cape yet, Bridgit and Justin have decided to offer a hands-on, quasi-educational and family-oriented environment to help and teach new heroes, as well as providing a home for more experienced heroes to pass on their knowledge as well.

Activity: Because we are small and new, we currently have less than ten individual players in the group, but we are always looking for more like-minded players to create a fun, story-rich environment. Our players are mature, sensible and creative - but we have a silly streak in us too, and we all have wicked senses of humour!

Most of our players are in the Eastern Timezone, and we're usually most active after 5 pm during the week, and all day during the weekends (unless real life interferes). We're on the game every day, either on our Overbrookers characters or one of our others.

Requirements for Membership: Our requirements for membership are that you remain active - preferably at least logging in once a week for our SG nights. We encourage teaming with fellow members, and contributing to IC chatter on the channels. Please put some thought into your character and how dedicated you want to be to them before you apply to the group - we put our best forward, and we encourage you to do the same!

We require that anyone interested in joining The Overbrookers visit our forums and follow the application instructions posted in the Applications forum. It's easy, straight forward, and it will get you an interview with Bridgit and Justin to size up your fit for the group.

Leadership: Bridgit Mathews and Justin Mathews.

    In-Game Contact(s): Bridgit O'Malley/Bridgit Mathews (@Sehkmet) and Mr Mountie (@Mountie).

    Out-of-Game Contact(s):
Bridgit Mathews CoH Forums handle: Sehkmet
    Bridgit Mathews Email: samuraikitty@gmail.com

URL: http://overbrookers.guildportal.com - The Overbrookers official website and forums

Coalition(s): None at this time, however it is something we're currently considering with like-minded groups!

Other Details: We are dedicated to creating a fun, immersive group environment through RP and story-telling both in game and on our forums. Creative writing is encouraged, and anything that encourages participation is always welcomed.

We ask that you run in supergroup mode whenever possible, and if you're new to the game, or need help funding your character, just ask either Bridgit or Justin and they'll be happy to help you with influence or anything else you might need.

Our base is small, and cluttered, and not half as beautiful as most groups - but it's a rented warehouse in Faultline being converted to a 'base' by two heroes and their friends, paid for out of their pocket, and done as a labour of love. Everything in the base has a function and an IC reason to be there, and we plan to keep it that way!

We currently have 'Overbrookers Night', every Tuesday at 7:30 pm EST, where we mingle, run missions, RP and whatever else comes to mind at the time.

We do have a uniform, but it isn't mandatory and while we'd love to see everyone in our look, we don't require it.

If you'd like to learn more about our group, please feel free to contact us in game, out of game, or through our website!

  12. [Sorry about the delay on my part, folks. Christmas stress, blah blah.]

Celia giggled as she found herself mauled by an overeager Cypherr, giving the little girl-creature a fond hug - and quietly thankful Morgant was done with his motorcycle stuntwork for the time being. She'd nearly lost her lunch on the last leap, and only by clinging desperately to the FPS knight had she managed to stay seated on the back of the bike. Next time, she decided, I'll fly under my own power.

Shade Panther perched carefully on one of the boat's guard-railings, peering down with a slightly wrinkled nose at the various contenders she may or may not end up facing. Huffing to herself, and grimacing once more as she felt a twinge twitch itself across her face, she straightened up, carefully balanced on the barred railing, eyes narrowed thoughtfully.

Surely there had to be a suitable... teammate out there, one that would be a help and not a hindrance.

Her expression thoughtful, Celia watched as Morgant paced and muttered, having looked over the invitation herself. Of course it positively reeked of danger and she was quite certain there was more to it than what the invitation itself had implied, but she could tell from the way he set his jaw and the light in his eyes that he was determined to get to the bottom of this.

And naturally, she would be right at his side.

Ice blue eyes briefly moved to run over the sleek lines of Vangelis, and she sighed. Part of her hoped she would be able to use the huge weapon - holding it made her feel important, brave, and powerful. The other part of her despised her weakness, and she clasped her hands into fists as she turned, throwing open the little closet where she kept her costumes and grabbed both of them with a scowl.

Perched on one of the shattered ruins of Siren's Call, Renata grimaced as she held a deep wound in her side. The dull green glow that pulsed bright enough to shine through her skin was more than merely cosmetic: as the pain ebbed away, so did the puncture left behind by a very determined Stalker. She'd made short work of him, giving into the primal urges that throbbed through her mind more often than not.

.oO(Damn you, Crey.) She rubbed at her temple, and after a moment's digging into her bodice, produced a slim pen-style injector which she promptly jabbed into her thigh with a grimace.

The serum that gave her the power to leap and attack like a panther was also the same one that gave her the power to heal away wounds in the blink of an eye. It was also the same serum that was slowly robbing her of her sanity and her hard-earned knowledge, grinding away years of education under its invisible, oppressive boot.

The fog lifted for a moment, and Renata let out a sigh before she dug into her trenchcoat and pulled out the flyer again, eyes narrowed thoughtfully.

"... yes. A wish? A cure... would be most beneficial."
