I am sorry to hear, that you cant get the game to work properly.
COH does stress the system more than most other games, most likely due to all those fancy features it has. But those fancy features are also what I love about this game.
That being said, I have played COH on a number of different machines, both laptops and desktops, and for me it has worked without significant problems. There has been small hiccups, but all has been solvable without to much trouble. -
Well my guess is, she has a computer with a graphic card, that barely are able to handle the game.
I would suggest trying the technical forum, and be sure to include a COH Helper report. -
Kill stuff
In order to get a chance for a purple drop, you must defeat foes that have a chance of dropping level 50 recipes. I think the common opinion is that the chance of purple drops is like 1 to 2000.
So in order to optimize, you should fight level 47. -
Officially it isnt supported.
But there are 2 commonly used methods:
1) Have a third party as middle man. Find someone you trust. And if on the same server, it is easy. But many are helping transferring between servers, too. You could try your own server forum.
2) Use Wentworth. Find a seldom sold piece and sell it to yourself. This has a risc, and if you for some reason fails, you dont get any support.
But it is considered fairly safe, if you are using the following method Influence Transfer
That said; personally I never have found it necessary to transfer between characters.
But that might just be me
Edit: misread OP. Thought he was talking of Influence Transfer -
I can't see any problems in your COH Helper report, although updating your drivers might be good.
But in your HiJackThis, it seems to me you have a problem:

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Installer] C:\Documents and Settings\Larson\Desktop\setup_241_3777_.exe

I'm sorry, I can't tell you the best way to solve it, but if you google it you might find a solution. -
You can have up to 3 open missions, so you can get a new mission. If you don't have any more contacts, I would guess you have some detective you can see for getting a radio, and then do radio missions.
But I wonder, what level are you, and why do you need a team to complete your missions? -
You can scale all your windows, using the window size in the Options menu.
Or, if it is just the chat window, you can use the command /windowscale chat X, where X can go from 0.65 to 1.99. -
And if you have the default keybinds, then you can move the camera to the front, if you hold down <Page Up> while moving the mouse.
<Page Down> resets the camara. -
All your characters, including existing, should have access to the booster packs.
Origin does not matter.
You should be able to find your booster pack powers, if you look in your power window under 'inherent'. From there you can draw it to a tray. -
<QR>
For me the bug seems reproducible by:
1)Open WW window
2)Click on an 'empty' place in that window, i.e. a salvage name or a free bidding box
3)Do something; move a bit or use some powers
I actually do move and/or get no target
4)Hit <enter>
5)Start typing; the text will then start with the keys I have hit in 3)
Repeat -
What level was the rest of the team?
It sounds to me, that one of the team-members was level 35, and as you can't have more than 5 levels in between, you didn't get xp till your mentor hit level 31, and your combat-level got to 30. -
Well, not a solution.
But you could try /reloadgfx when it happens. That will unload textures, and reload the relevant ones. -
Doing a fresh install, I guess you have downloaded new drivers as well. There are at least a known issue with Vista and the Nvidia 186.x driver.
I recommend that you post a COH helper output. -
You should download and run COH Helper , and then post the result here.
It tells about your system specifikations. -
No, only the Costume Change emotes - at least AFAIK and according to Patch Notes.
-
If you was inside Pocket D, it is most likely the problem. Pocket D is a "no TP" zone.
Try it from somewhere outside, and see if it doesn't work from there. -
Can you be more specific towards, what you experience?
Are you talking about free costume changes or tailor tickets (for reduced cost)? -
Playing, while being on the moon, might be tough.
Round trip delay would be more than 2 seconds. -
You must use /hc to access the Help Channel.
I think it used to be just /h. -
I suggest you post the results of CoH Helper and HiJackThis.
CoH Helper for a better description of your setup, and HiJackThis for a listing of what other programs you have running and that might eat your ressources. -
Are you sure you are using the right username and password?
Notice your master account is different from your game account.
Also be aware that the password is case sensitive. -
I have just tried it on a character, and it worked as intended (i.e. as supposed by you).
Have you tried to /unbind LSHIFT+LBUTTON and then rebind? -
I agree that the LFT option should be improved!
As a workaround for searching specific levels, you can use the slash command /search
E.g. /search +18-22 -
As far as I know, it is caused by rearranging of costume parts. So when logging an old character in, it can't find the original parts due to it is placed somewhere else.
-
Heat was my first guess - but obviously not the graphic card.
Have you tried to monitor the CPU too?
Or maybe it could be faulty RAM. You could try Memtest to see if any errors show up.
