Sure... all you need is an intermediary.
Either someone trustworthy (or too rich to bother robbing you), or set up a personal base with storage bins.
Officially it isnt supported.
But there are 2 commonly used methods:
1) Have a third party as middle man. Find someone you trust. And if on the same server, it is easy. But many are helping transferring between servers, too. You could try your own server forum.
2) Use Wentworth. Find a seldom sold piece and sell it to yourself. This has a risc, and if you for some reason fails, you dont get any support.
But it is considered fairly safe, if you are using the following method Influence Transfer
That said; personally I never have found it necessary to transfer between characters.
But that might just be me

Easiest way to transfer influence is to do it in the form of liquid assets- Rare Salvage is valuable and fairly stable.
A lot of people are answering "how do I transfer inf to an alt?"
If you're trying to transfer actual, specific items... you need to use a friend or base storage. I think you can set up a trial account, start two copies of the game (one with each account), and move stuff that way. Disclaimer:I've never done that.

I use SG base storage. You can't trade recipes this way, but you can craft the recipe and trade the enhancement. You can't trade influence this way either, but you can buy what you want with the rich guy craft it and then put it in a bin for the poor guy. Or you can buy salvage, trade it, then sell it (for profit if you do it right).
You only have to trust your SG mates for about 60 seconds while you swap toons.
Trading and storing goods is the #1 reason I have a solo SG.

Everyone already gave the right answer, just be really careful I got-got a long time ago in a Inf transfer, not a alot of money, but I had someone who was a level 50 and I thought "they are to high to wanna steal my inf", so I gave them the Inf, logged off, logged back on initiated a trade with them and they gave me about half of what I traded with them and told me it was Taxed, so just be careful....

Is there a way to transfer a recipe from a Hero to a Villian? My wife and I recently started playing, and we each have an account. Is there a "special" location where we could trade the recipe between Blueside and Redside characters?

Currently, there is no trading possible between Redside and Blueside.
This may change with the Going Rogue expansion, but nothing is confirmed about that at this point.
Armylife: That was a roosterhead move on their part; sorry to hear it.
As far as trading, the best you can do is sell the item heroside (losing 10% of the value, unfortunately), find someone to trade influence for infamy and put in a bid villainside. I do this (10% fee, or 20% if I have to move the inf to another server) and Smurphy (@Smurphy, aka Jojo the Bunny) might be going back into the business.

Also, similar to what Fulmens said, depending on the availability I might be able to work out inf. or item trading on side-to-side stuff too.

I always say the best way is to make a post on the forum for your server; I don't think you can go wrong that way, since it is visible and there are plenty of helpful people on every server who would be willing--practically eager-- to help you.
