  1. It all comes down to supply and demand.

I suspect its all of those common salvage that make high demand common IOs.

    Halloween Mobs

I found it amusing how easy of a time my traps/AR defender does ToTing. Of course many of the "droppers" and non target AoE have a big advantage as you can get the drop on the mobs coming out of the doors.

Then you can watch the lagfests created by MMs and plant doms farming doors in Grandville.

    Halloween Mobs

I have to agree with this, November 1st hurry up and get here!

Its fun for certain characters and less fun for others.

While normally I like the Halloween event for Co*, the only word I can use right now is disappointed. I was not here last year, so the combinations of things will be included. The door mobs are still to powerful. Even con zombies from the door should not be tearing my scrapper apart. (It was the last mob standing from that spawn.) I know werewolves were always nasty, as were the Fir Bolg contigent, but right now they are ripping us apart at the low levels. The extra addition of multiple bosses with a duo, much less 4 lieutenants, is also making things difficult. One door was opened 4 times, and we got a Vampire Lord, (at least one) each of the 4 times. We leveled up and the door would not open for us anymore, so we could not go for Lord number 5.

For the risk involved, the rewards are less than even. What happened to the big inspirations? Why did they take them out? It's bad enough that they are not found in the Shadow SHard anymore. They are very rare, and at high levels, the tier 1 inspirations are not all that effective.

I have not tried the Apocalypse, so I can't say how hard it is under ideal conditions, (Love some of the descriptions of the mobs though.) but as event fatigue sets in, fewer people will be willing to do the event, and those that were not able to log in those first few days are out of luck.

I like the idea of the tip mission, but the mob spawns are far to large. We were getting 6 spawns in a duo, with two of them being lieutenants. Oddly, I do not recall any bosses, other than the elite boss at the end. Having to fight through those in 5 minutes or less seems impossible, and the glowies do not add enough time. The same with the ambushes. There is not enough time to rest between them, and if you move a bit to far, they can appear right next to you. I do like that it allows the access of the Witches cap, which despite jokes around here, is hard for a hero to get. Despite several past attempts to get a KHTF going, there were no takers. On a Saturday night.

As much as I like the game, I am disappointed I stayed with Co* for Halloween. Mrs. Arachnia was looking forward to the event, and now does not even want to log in and play it. As for me, I would almost rather play the console game we purchased last week.

For those that disagree and like the event, I am glad! It's just right now, this 'challenge' is not fun for us. It's tedious, and feels like a job, not entertainment.

This means unless the dev completely overhaul Stalker's design by giving more AoE (which I don't think it's going to happen), most of the buff ideas we have are not going to change others' opinion of Stalker. In fact, most people don't even know Stalker has team critical buff and aoe fear from AS. Can Castle do something that is going to "wow" the other population? Who knows. I think whatever buffs we may get, it's only going to satisfy the hardcore Stalker fans.
It certainly won't be an easy task to fix Stalkers. Even if the 100% AoE KM Crits from hide were kept it would require breaking the cottage rule to get some of the other Stalker sets AoE to take advantage of an "official" change.

Any team fix for Stalkers would still require either the Stalker doing something DPS related that makes the stalker "desireable" and/or buffing the team in a way that makes the team want to want to recruit a Stalker.

From playing my Stalker on teams, I am almost to the point that AS and Placate (Signature Stalker powers) are not even needed. Certainly at high levels on a team, those powers are not that helpful. I'm better off using those powers and slots to help me cap defense and improve survival as much as possible.
  5. I would imagine its been done already.

    Enter AE mission and doorsit.
  6. I'll bring a couple of my "best" looking character costumes. Costume creation isn't something I am all that good at. I just hope I don't make DN facepalm when he sees what I made.

    Yeah, I am that bad.
  7. Yay! This pack I can go for!

If you folks plan to give this out for free as a teaser can we not do this by forums posts? How about some costume contest on each server instead?

  8. If you want kryptonite just play a blaster and don't slot your attacks. Set mission to +4x8 and fight malta or KoA.

Kryptonite wouldn't work because people would just pick an AE fa...er mission and avoid their weaknesses. There would have to be enough gain to make it worth it to people and all we would get later on is whiny threads about how people avoid their weakness and use whatever bonus they get to mow stuff down faster.

The Bay Bridge is still the same ole for now, construction on the new bridge isn't done yet.
Geez, talk about cost overruns on the bridge.

Ok, thanks for the info, at least I know a car isn't out of the question.

Other than that, I still find Stalkers effective soloists (probably one of the fastest soloers around). It's team-play where it seems most people complain about them. I'm not sure what to change about them that wouldn't completely change what the Stalker is as an AT.
Well the problem is what do stalkers bring to a team other than (with a couple of exceptions) single target dps?

I like the idea of increasing the crit chance of stalkers and remove the teammate in range check. I probably would increase the damage on single target attacks for Stalkers so there is no issues about which AT does the most melee single target damage (at the cost of the fewest HP).

That still leaves the teaming issue. I'd say Stalkers give some sort of team buff that makes them wanted by the team. Maybe some sort of inherant Assault power.
  11. Scrappers and Brutes are fine

If a melee type needs love its Stalkers!

I don't. Mercs prefer to stay at range except for the Leeroy Medic.

Demons, Ninjas, Zombies and Thugs would make better use of disturption field since those sets have tougher things that sit in melee.

Look how many times you have posted on the subject telling other experienced players about controlling KB. This whole subject is a dead horse.

I don't say anything on teams anymore because most players have already formed their opinion about KB. If I get on a team with a KB spammer or annoying power offender(gale, handclap, Lightning Clap, repel, D-shift, Blackhole, Bonfire) I just leave the team at the end of the mission and move on. I then 1 star the spammer

When I get on teams who do minimal AoE KB and AoE is King I stay on those teams and friend those people.

People have different playstyles and your welcome to play the way you want. I'm sure there are players out there that think spamming D-shift is a good idea and no one will be able to convince them to "change their playstyle". It would be like telling a Red Sox fan to become a Yankees fan.
  14. The only good news is that DA will only be run (heavily) for 10 days. 10 days that Numina (and other TFs with hunts) will be unfun to run and hoping that there isn't an event going on when you have a hunt mission from a regular contact. (Actually I normally just autocomplete most hunts since I hate them)

I am however interested in the trick or treat tips missions.
  15. I have not been to SF in years but I do know that it is usually much better taking the BART in than driving by car. (Even if I want to drive on the new bay bridge)

So my question is, just how much is this "fee" for that parking garage on Clay and Battery? The other questions are, can I expect that parking garage to be full by 5pm on Saturday and what time does it close.

Looks like BART is best but I want to consider all options.

That would not be a correct assumption.

I get team invites for my brutes and MMs all the time. The problem is getting team invites for my stalker. Dominator has some issues getting teams but not nearly as bad as my Stalker.

This is still an MMO, and I would be nice for teams to a want a stalker. Heck, there are a few other ATs that need some love too.
  17. My PB often teamed with two different teams of two controllers and mostly used squid form. When I pugged outside of those teams I ended up using Dwarf and human form more often because of the KB.

At least Tri-form allows me to do that. However, as it stands, too much KB in khelds and it would be nice if it were changed to KD.

That and some other reason for a team to pick a Kheld.

You can't NOT use the nova blasts if you're a tri-form, and you can't NOT use the detonations if you're a human-only build, so... While I get what you're saying, it really doesn't hold true for the vast majority of Kheldians out there, regardless if we assumed all of them "try" to "direct" their KB.

When there isn't a controller on the team to lock them down, mobs are going to scatter with Kheldians, whether anyone wants to admit to it or not.

  18. Did I miss a memo someplace? Last I checked the ITF is the most popular TF being run.

Basically, the Posi TF 1&2 is just for leveling pre stamina lowbies or for people who want the TF Commander badge. You get a team for a few missions unlike the current PUG trend where people join for a mission (and get their tips missions) then vanish.
  19. The real problem with Khelds is that they benefit from a team but the team doesn't get any benefit from a kheld (other than tank/dps) which other ATs do better.

A well built Widow or Soldier can really buff a team but the secondary effects of many WS and PB attack is um KB. Yeah I know PB has -def and WS has -slow but the KB is what I recall the most.

Ask me how long people stick around on a team when you have a Solar Flare spammer scattering stuff. (Okay tanks/brutes spamming Hand Clap isn't popular either)
  20. I'll certainly try to make any arrangements to come. Been wanting to try and go to one of these for awhile.

I'll have to get a room someplace since I don't want to make the 400 mile trek back to LA at 1am.
  21. Co-op Shadow Shard with big enough carrots for people to make it the new Atlas/Cap.
  22. Basically #1

I'll worry about i19 details as we know more. When its live, then I care.
  23. I'm finding I am almost better off not summoning him.

Depends on powersets. Ill/kin I use phanty selectively, Ill/FF I can pin things against the walls.

So I post this to see if anyone has found any tips for dealing with this. What I end up doing is standing to the side of him (so I avoid cones) with him just on the periphery of my heal radius. This is fine and at the end of the day the AV/Hero is defeated, but I'd like to minimize this problem, especially since Lord Recluse will be coming up shortly and I'll need to be at max performance for him.
  24. Rules? Ugh.

If I was that ebil dev the fastest team would be.....

    8 Stalkers.

Why? Guess! It would be the last team people would try.
