Quote:Note: VIP players earn 1 reward token per month now as opposed to 1 every 3 months in the past. I think they also earn 1 extra token for every 12 months of being subscribed, so I believe you will earn 13 tokens at the end of the year for the time you just payed for, not 4 tokens.I've got a little extra money laying around, and I like the way the game is going right now, so I'm considering paying for more than a month at a time, something I've never done before.
If I do so, how does that work with my paragon points and paragon rewards tokens. If I pay for a year, would I get 4800 paragon points and 4 paragon reward tokens immediately, or would I continue getting them monthly through the course of the year?
Edit: And yes. You only receive 400 points and 1 token per month instead of all up front as VIP. But you can purchase Paragon Points in addition to that. For every 1200 points you accumulate when buying them, you earn 1 reward token. The free 400 points VIP receive each month don't count towards this. (I think if you are VIP tier 9 in the rewards tree you receive 550 or so points per month) -

Quote:P.S. I've seen VIP players moan and complain along the lines of "We use to get all new power sets for free before the game went f2p and now you're telling I have to spend 2 months stipend to get this?!"You can call it sarcasm or you can call it reality.
This is how the game works. I explained what you need to unlock and why, plus possible ways around the problem. Okay, you don't like it. We've seen similar complaints a thousand times, but this is a business and you will never ever get access to everything for free. -
Quote:Your simple explanation to the OP's question was sufficient. But your separate additional "YOU CAN'T HAVE FOR FREE! You mad bro?" response was uncalled for and unnecessary. You can call it sarcasm or you can call it reality.

To me the OP seems a bit frustrated but came here to find out a reason WHY he/she couldn't unlock their already created characters.
To the OP, I think if you had unlocked any of the epic archetypes and created characters with them as a VIP subscriber before the game went free-to-play you were allowed to unlock the characters and keep them as a premium player. I've seen reports but it might be inaccurate.
As a premium player you need to purchase the unlocks from the Paragon Market. VIP still have access to them, but I believe for a new VIP they just simply need to get a single character to level 20 to unlock the ATs permanently. Not sure if it's needed to have a separate level 20 hero to unlock the hero epics and a level 20 villain to unlock the villain epic ATs though.
Edit: Forgot to mention, if you have tier 5 maxed in Paragon Rewards tree you unlock the Mastermind and Controller ATs for free. Note: you do not need to place any of your reward tokens in any of the slots. Simply having enough tokens to max a tier will be considered sufficient. -
I believe all power sets that came out after the game went free-to-play have to be purchased by premium players. There were a few that VIP get for free. There are also some costume sets/pieces VIP get for free but premiums have to buy all of them.
http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Account#Overview
For a better list on what VIP get for free and premiums have to pay for go to http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Paragon_Market
On the right side of the page there is 'VIP' in the list next to the approximate real money prices for the items. If there is a 'Y' in the 'VIP' column it means you get it for free. NOTE: the list may not be entirely up to date, but it seems to be. (Power sets are listed about halfway down the page) Unfortunately this page doesn't list costume sets/pieces.
For a list of the purchasable sets and which sets VIP get for free check http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Costum...e_Costume_Sets
NOTE: some "sets" in the Paragon Market don't have a bundle option and the pieces must be purchased individually (some of these VIP get for free). Some sets without a bundle option in the market are: Leather Armor, Resistance, Chainmail, Olympian Gaurd, etc. -
Quote:Same with me. I can't log into the website but I CAN log into my master account through the Paragon Market in the game. I think I'm going to send in a support ticket about this. Luckily I don't need to purchase Paragon Points right now but if I wanted to I wouldn't do it. I prefer to buy points for the game ONLY through my master account on the NC Soft website and not through the Paragon Market.Every browser I've used has failed to log into the site. Again, I can log in to the account in-game, so I know I'm using the correct account & password.
Edit: I'd recommend filing a petition through the NC Soft support site instead of the CoH support site since this has to do with the NC Soft website and not the game per say. https://help.ncsoft.com/app/answers/list
Although, for me anyway, the log in credentials for both NC Soft support and CoH support is the same. I could file a petition for Guild Wars if needed and log into the CoH support site and see the GW ticket in the history list and vice versa.
Edit 2: That's strange. I thought the CoH support site was exclusive of the NC Soft support. For NC Soft you have to select a product from the drop down list (game, first list under the comment box) so it goes to the right department and CoH is in the list, in fact I can even select which server by clicking the arrow next to CoH in the list. -
Quote:That's exactly what I thought at first. The OP wasn't specific in the beginning that the game he/she bought was not CoH.Ah. I was confused by this line until I got to the second paragraph.
You bought *A* game, which was not City of Heroes, and had a problem. I was reading it literally; "So I bought THIS game last month".
1 Thing I have noticed over the last month or so: RMT spam in the help channel, and spam bots in Wentworth's/Black Market are practically non-existent now. I think they may have finally found a way after all the complaints and petitions to get rid of the spammers almost for good.
After playing Guild Wars on and off for almost 6 years, I'm familiar with bot-like behavior and I don't recall ever coming across any character in CoH that exhibits such behavior. That's partly why I love this game. That and the great friendly community. -
Out of curiosity I checked something in regards to this. I have at least a couple characters with credit toward the Isolator badge for defeating Contaminated in The Pilgrim's second mission in Ouro but had already completed the arcs. I just clicked a crystal in Ouro and checked the level 46-50 range and guess what? The Ouro tutorial arc from The Pilgrim was in the list.
Meaning we can do the arc solo through flashback to finish getting defeats for the badge. Haven't checked it on villain side but I imagine it's also available through flashback for the Jailbird exploration badge inside the second mission.
Anybody know if this has been the case all along or was it added to the flashback system some time in the last few months? I remember a discussion not too long ago here on the forums, where I had posted at least once, but there wasn't any mention, even in this thread, that you can do the story arc again through flashback.
Edit: Forgot screenshot.

The NC Soft website isn't giving me the 'untrusted' error anymore but it's not recognizing my log in credentials for either of my 2 master accounts. Running Firefox 13.1.
I've never had a Lineage II or Aion account though. It will probably take a couple days or so, but I'm sure they'll figure it out. With a major change such as this, migrating Aion and Lineage II to separate master accounts for people, it tends to screw stuff up for a while. -
It is impossible to add a code for the same thing to the same account. I think they person was saying that some people were greedy and claiming multiple codes to use 1 for each of their accounts instead of just 1 code for 1 account and letting other people have a chance to claim it.

Fine with me. I have Firefox save username and passwords to sites so all I have to do is go to the site and click the log in button. Doesn't work on all sites though, and sometimes it seems like my browser asks if I want it to save the info even though I already told it to before. No biggie. Takes a moment to change that.
1 thing you could change is to make it easier for people to register. A short while back I went straight to http://www.cohtitan.com/forum/index.php to register so I could post bugs with Mid's and I got an error saying registration is disabled. Still says that now. It was suggested to go there by someone on the CoH forums here and when I mentioned I couldn't register, they posted a link to the proper place to register here http://cohtitan.com/
So fix the register button or post a link on the home page for the Titan forums to go to cohtitan for registration. Would make things less confusing. I'm still fairly new to the community.
Edit: 1 question though, would our current usernames be usable for posting or would we have to create new ones and hope ours isn't taken before we switch to using our email address for log in? -
Sounds similar to this thread http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=292961
I posted a screen shot there which happens to show exactly what you are describing. -
1.) This game has PvP?
2.) Have you ever considered that maybe it could break something like locking new threads automatically by accident?
3.) Loyalist or Resistance clockwork?
4.) Have you ever thought that maybe YOU are in someone else's imagination?
5.) Did you overdose on cough syrup and now have the munchies, again?
6.) Did you hear that Penelope Yin is going to [Censored]?
7.) Do you honestly think he is rich enough to buy a toupee?
8.) Magic brownies or regular?
9.) Chuck Norris?
10.) Are you a redneck or a hillbilly?
11.) Do you think they would actually answer that now?
12.) Seriously?
13.) Did you leave out this number due to superstition? I was born on a Friday the 13th, day before valentines day, dont'cha know?
14.) Did I just answer your question before you asked it?
15.) Do you prefer Coke or Pepsi?
16.) Are you planning to go on vacation?
17.) Which side is more conservative than liberal?
18.) Do you think we'll be able to add actual bathrooms to bases? Are you as sick as I am to find every bathroom door in the game locked and you have to go behind a bush only to find a Hellion that woke up in a bad mood?
19.) You don't think starting a new character is fun?
20.) You don't think opening almost 200 super packs, like I did, for a black wolf pet isn't enough with no badge to go with it?
Edited for typos, or was it? -

P.S. Oh hell no! Would be annoying. And what about this "brown chiken brown cow emote"? It's in your topic title but you didn't elaborate on it.
Edit: You mean "bow chicka wow wow"? I highly doubt that would happen.

Quote:http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Montague...8Praetorian%29night ward is actually 30-40 except for the 2 unique contacts trilogy and fireball who go from 30-50
i think night ward was originally slated to be 30-35 but they figured there was too much content to squeeze into 5 levels so the lvl range is 30-40
http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Ward
http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Sir_Bedwyr
http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/The_Magician_%28Contact%29
http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Sir_Lionel
http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Atherton_Cromwell
Well then the wiki must be wrong because it lists all contacts, except Trilogy and Fireball who are listed as 30-50 and that seems to be the case, as level 30-35. -
Quote:http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/FireballParagonwiki agrees with that level range, but I actually ran the Night Ward arcs on a level 37 character (level 39 when I finished). I didn't use Ouroboros, I went straight to the contacts in zone.
http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Trilogy
These 2 contacts in Night Ward are level 30-50. All others are 30-35. I did these 2 story arcs on 1 character so far and he was about level 43 at the time I did them and yes not through Ouroboros Flashback. -
I think you mean the Mayor of Batman sued DC comics as they hold the copyright/trademark of the Batman character. Unless Marvel has their own version of a 'Bat Man' you are referring to. I'm not a comic reader and never have been so I wouldn't know.
-
As an example, when you click on a specific piece in an ATO set such as Acc/Dmg, there is only 1 in the list on the right.
-
It's possible the auction is thinking the pieces have an actual level and that would explain why it's listing them multiple times as if they were level 10,11,15,17, 45, etc.
-
-
Each piece of the Overwhelming Force is showing up multiple times in the auction. There is no difference in each one in the list as all show minimum level 10 to use when I mouse over them.

Quote:Room as in, I would have to pick my chair up and over my bed to get it out of the way, slide my computer armoire forward, climb over my bed to get behind it to unplug the cables because they're not long enough for me to pull the computer forward without having to move the armoire. Then I would be left with no room for my chair and I would be unable to play the game until I moved the armoire back. I wouldn't want to move it back only to have to pull it back forward to unplug and replug everything in the back of the computer if it turns out it wasn't a graphics card issue.Well, this will answer that question. It answers the question that the GT 240 card is flaky or not.
You don't have enough room to unscrew out a GT240 card and stuff it into an anti static bag?
Given that thousands of people are playing the game with no issues (me included) probably eliminates the CoH program.
Well video card swap test is really your next step. Its free, it only costs you time and its fairly easy.
It is possible it's a driver issue and not anything wrong with the hardware. I updated to the latest drivers in June and it was only some time shortly after that I had the game crash. I do still have the previous version of the drivers/software installer I kept just in case. If I crash again I'll try reverting to the older drivers first and only swap from the video card to the onboard graphics as a last resort due to limited living space and the hassle to move furniture around. (my grandma didn't have a spare bedroom for me when I moved in a few years ago. So my 'bedroom' is the tiny dining area next to the kitchen.) -
Actually it's ATI integrated graphics. At this time I'm not convinced it's the graphics card and I have very limited space to work with in order to unplug everything from my comp to do that.

Quote:Nope. All 3 of the characters I recently respeced, I replanned their builds in Mids before I did the summer event trail with them so I would be able to perform better. (I've been needing to do that anyway but kept putting it off.)Question. You haven't slotted any of the new Universal Damage IOs in all of these builds have you?
All the of the characters I recently respeced are too low level to use any of the Overwhelming Force I had received on my other characters due to the minimum level requirement bug and my other characters being level 22 or so and up.
The character I respeced yesterday was level 11 when I respeced him. Even if I had mailed an overwhelming force I received from the event on a level 15 character, he would have still been too low level to use it (level 12 minimum for a Overwhelming force enhancement claimed on a level 15 character)
In case you're wondering, I'm maxed in Paragon Rewards tiers and have a total of 6 free respecs on each character and that is what I used, especially considering the 3 characters I respeced recently are all too low level to do the first respec trial.
