Isolator and Jail Bird

Is there any way to get these badges any more?

I'm not sure about Jail Bird offhand. But there is still a way to get Isolator: Ouroboros. The initial "tutorial" arc for that (from Mender Whatshisname right in front of the portal) sends you back to a modified version of Outbreak -- complete with exemping you to level 1. Supposedly there's also a single Infected (EDIT: Not Infected, Contaminated. The Infected are all over Mercy Island and are a different group altogether) that spawns once an hour in one of the PvP zones that you could farm, too, but I recommend the Ouroboros method.

FUN FACT: That burst of light when you level up is actually the effectiveness escaping from your enhancements all at once.

I'm starting to think they should just replace the entire "Player Questions" forum with a redirect to the wiki.

Awesome! Thank you all so much for the info!

Now is it possible to get both, without resorting to hopping on a team?

I would assume so. Run the Ouro intro mish. Finish it up. Swap sides, and then run the intro flashback on the other side, too. Mind you, I don't know for sure that this works, but see no reason why it shouldn't.

You don't need a team, but you do have to fully switch sides.

Isolator = Blue side Ouroborus.
Jail Bird = Red side Ouroborus.

Do the Ouroboros entrance arc you get from Pilgrim. One of the first missions you will be sent on takes you to the original tutorial for each side to fix something that went wrong. Since the enemies and maps are identical to the originals, the badges are available there.

You should also still be able to get Isolator blueside in Recluses Victory - there is one contaminated spawns in or under the tram station about every 45 mins - I presume you can build up credit towards it redside as well.

I probably would not "presume" that unless someone has actually tested it.

Back when the RV method to get Isolator was first introduced it also introduced the first time a villain had the potential to earn a "hero only" badge. At the time the Devs were not too keen on the idea of people being able to earn cross-factional badges and they supposedly changed some code to make it uniquely impossible for redsiders to get Isolator that way. What that means is that there could still be some old code in there which would prevent redsiders from even earning credit for RV Isolator.

Isolator is easy enough now to earn in that blueside Ouro mission anyway - a redsider even -trying- to rack up RV Isolator credit is really only an exercise in masochism at this point.

Back when Going Rogue went live, villains that switched to heroes got the Isolator badge or credit towards it.

It actually means that you have to be a hero to have the badge award. After it awards, you're good.

I do agree with this however. Only the most self-hating person would try to rack up RV Isolator credit.

Out of curiosity I checked something in regards to this. I have at least a couple characters with credit toward the Isolator badge for defeating Contaminated in The Pilgrim's second mission in Ouro but had already completed the arcs. I just clicked a crystal in Ouro and checked the level 46-50 range and guess what? The Ouro tutorial arc from The Pilgrim was in the list. Meaning we can do the arc solo through flashback to finish getting defeats for the badge. Haven't checked it on villain side but I imagine it's also available through flashback for the Jailbird exploration badge inside the second mission.

Anybody know if this has been the case all along or was it added to the flashback system some time in the last few months? I remember a discussion not too long ago here on the forums, where I had posted at least once, but there wasn't any mention, even in this thread, that you can do the story arc again through flashback.

Edit: Forgot screenshot.

It was always there. I think it was put in so we all could once again experience the joy of being level 1. MUAHAHAHAHAHA!

LOL

Well all these months I've been playing, since Freedom launched, I was under the impression that The Pilgrim's story arc was not doable through flashback and if you didn't get these badges you were out of luck.

Hi everyone,

I'm closing this thread due to thread necromancy. If you'd like to discuss an older thread, please consider creating a new thread instead, to avoid disseminating old information.

Thanks!
