NCsoft Log in Untrusted Since The Update

What the title said. FireFox is giving me the untrusted warning since the update when I try to log into my master account.

Truth be told, I hadn't encountered this before, so I did a Google search. Is there a reason this warning would be showing when I try to go to the log in page; Is it safe?

Forgive my stupidity.

Goodbye. Not to the game, but the players. Goodbye. Everyone, remember to have fun. That's all I can say.

I am so seeing this as well. I just added an exception to it though. The other problem I am having though, cannot seem to be able to log into my master account.

Here the reason (you get it by clicking on "Technical Details" on that Firefox warning page).

Code:
login.ncsoft.com uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided.
(Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)
Essentially, the Web team messed up their SSL certificate (needed since it's a secure - https - site).

Same here (Windows XP SP3/Firefox "Nightly" 16.0a1)

If you watch security details, security certificate seems to come from an unknown source or at least, one that Mozilla cannot verify. And you need to add an exception for each page (login, lost password, lost account name) if you'd like to pass through.

Same problem seen for login... i suspect a bunch of code made only for IE. I'll do some more tests on my home pc tonight =)

As a temporary workaround, please try using the in-game interface (via the Paragon Market) to manage your Master Account.

This really seem to be a mozilla specific issue as with IE 8 and Opera 12.5 everything is ok...
Didn't see anything special in the error console and it behaves the same if i change the user agent.

...

Except the error message shows up if I just open the page and don't type anything

Actually, this does not mean the site is not secure, it simply means that the SSL cert in use has:
1) Expired (rarely)
2) Was issued by an unrecognized company (this is the likely reason and can happen if NC issues their own cert, which is completely legal and safe)

If you are on an https (secure) domain then it uses SSL and that SSL's security depends on the level of encryption and not necessarily the company that issued it. In fact, a Cert your browser thinks may be untrusted may actually provide better security than one from a trusted source, such as VeriSign depending on what level/type of cert you purchase from them.

The browser is simply giving you a warning that it does not recognize the issuer of the cert.

The same SSL will be used by the in-game interface and the website since they both connect to the same place, so I don't see how using the in-game interface makes any difference, except that you don't get the warning.

Got it too after trying. Like said before, it's a mear warning that occurs before actually loading the page. If you choose to add the "unsecured" (note my quotes) certificate to your exception, you won't be bothered anymore. You may need to do it a couple times, as i got it on 2 step of login (maybe because of that migration thing i got)

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

For those firefox users with the Ghostery extension, you must add an exception to use back the account login page.

From Ghostery options > General Tab > Site whitelist subtab.

Add in whitelist:

secure.ncsoft.com
login.ncsoft.com

Hope this helps.

For other FF users having a total block problem like that but not using Ghostery, it's still now obvious it is an extension problem. You'll have to disable all extensions then re-enable them one by one to spot the one (or those) responsible for the problem.

Well, I am able to log in... I Think, but then I get a page about Migration and none of the buttons on that page WORK! (Win 7, Firefox)

Can't do anything with it. I hate it when companies use their real-time users as beta-testers.

Be Well!
