Hello everyone!
Come one, come all!
Welcome!
Welcome to the official gun-kata fanboy thread!
We welcome you with open arms! -
Quote:The patch should absolutely NOT be rolled back until they find a permanent solution. This thread delivered.
I still say the patch should be rolled back until they have a more elegant solution.
I would think anyone who claims to care about the longevity of this game would understand why the devs had to put an end to people like me who made farms that turned AE into a shooting gallery.
I would hope for the long term benefit of the MA system people would be understanding of the temporary solution even if it hampers their ability to create original content.
I don't think it would be in anyone's best interest to roll AE back to a shooting gallery so some folks can fully express themselves by creating a mission with multiple hostage allies that would most likely not get played by more than 500 people.
Limiting your creativity in the short term to benefit MA in the long term seems like a very easy call to me.
But what do I know, I'm n00b.
I've only had an account for 21 months now. -
Hi i'm n00b.
But you all already know that.
I would just like to throw this tidbit into the stew.
While #s do say a lot, I believe the actions may speak louder than the words or in this case the #s.
I think it would be beneficial to this discussion if certain individuals would run some AE mishs where a variety of variables can be tested in a live setting.
So it would appear AE isn't the total 100% loss some have made it out to be. -
Why are people being so over dramatic & immature about the latest AE fix?
AE was becoming a shooting gallery nubs!
Get it through your thick domes already.
They already stated in a thread this fix with respect to allys is a temporary solution until a permanent one is implemented.
Show how nub a lot of people are here. You think in the world of game development is as easy as waving a magic wand?
Seriously people, let's practice some restraint...and maybe grow up a lil eh... -
Quote:You think sami is popular becuase it has value outside of being a PL/farming tool? No, the xp was cut down abit, but at the time I was still getting 10k-15k a person, twice.
I recreated the samauri mission with an actually storyline for the mission. And if the devs think I was trying to make a farm mission, I wasn't. There are many comics and cartoons where the heroes were fighting villains that would get back up after they were knocked down.
And my Samauri mission managed to get 999+ votes and still popular. Until this ********.
If they are gonna be so strict as to how we use the AE system. they might as well just take it out of the game completely? It was put in so WE could make our own missions and storylines. But WE can't b/c we can only create content the DEVS want us to make and nothing outside of that. So there goes originality.
Your mish is about as inspiring as my now-dead Jelly Beans farm.
We should be able to make "our own missions and storylines?" So in your delusion Sami farm qualifies as a storyline?
All these "AE sux" threads are some of the most pathetic posts I've come across these boards over the past 2 years I've browsed.
Just to set the record straight, I am not the originator of GM farm. I Dream of Genie and Rainbow Zombies had been around for weeks before I decided to dip my toe into the farm game.
I am grateful the devs decided not to ban my account, as was the alleged fate of those who created the Meow farms way back when.
While I deserve to be banned, I would find it unfortunate since it never dawned on the devs that 30 allies on a mission map is probably not the best idea.
In closing, since I cannot prove any of my claims you should take 'em with a grain of NaCl. -
Hello everyone, it's your friendly neighborhood n00b.
I have found in my very limited time playing MMs that I am good with only 3 macros at my disposal:- tray 1, slot 1 /macro BG "petcom_all follow defensive"
- tray 1, slot 2 /macro GO "petcom_all goto"
- tray 1, slot 3 /macro Atk "petcom_all attack my target"
When I want to pull my pets to me quickly I use the goto command, followed quickly by either an aoe heal or the BG command. I only use this tactic if I feel I'm on the verge of being overrun by enemies. -

I sooooooo wanted to play demons today ;-*(
My heart was set on the first 3 days of april since pistols had come out march 2nd
Ah.......patience is a virtue.

Quote:I can answer this wall of text easily as well as any other wall of text you will post in the future. The problem isn't with us. The problem lays with you.Ok, I have to ask the same question iv asked before, but ill ask it in a diffrent way.Maybe ill get more then flamming this time around.*crosses fingers*
Now, what I want to know is why people stick to Mids, and why they only stick to Flavor builds that 1 Min/Max suggjests to another?
I get flak from other players and booted from teams before missions begin, as well as have minor to cases of extreem biast when I play something that they dont commonly see when it comes to builds.Lets not forget a snarky player that belive your combonation is horrible and lets you know they feel that way.Reguardless if the combo is good or not.
I know alot of you on these boards claim you dont have this issue when you play with other people.Odds are, your playing what they play or whats common.I however dont.
I know this subject acctually angers people, and everyone wants to belive they are individuals, but im still not understanding how thats a possiblity when almost everyone plays mostly the common builds that everyone else does?
When I see 20 Blasters ranging from level 1 to 50 under Atlas. With common or identical combos and looking like a Mercinary re-hash, or Hit Man likeness. All with the Dual Pistols Primary, and 1 of 2 Common Secondaries like Energy Melee or Mental Manipulation. It makes me ask why.
I see more then I care to count in Fire/Kin controllers. We dont even have to get into that one.Its self exsplanitary already.
Most the Scrappers and Tankers I see anymore are basically Willpower or Shield Defense with either Super Strength, Mace, or Fire Melee when it comes to the Tankers, and Elec Melee and Fire Melee mostly for Scrappers as common now days.
I see on forums where people say things along the lines of "Worthless joke build." and its oddly a very nice combonation.Like Ice/Sonic on a Controller, and Storm/Elec on a Defender. These builds arnt jokes, nore are they bad.I have these builds and they are awesome.
Why do people push more then half the power sets in the game back so feircely when they are alot better then they belive them to be?
Is it a fear of the unknown?
Im curious.
Why are you so obsessed with getting to the core of other people's decision making process when they create characters?
I give a rat's booty if everyone in atlas is running fire/kins or any other cookie cutter. Let them do as they please. None of us has control over which power sets people decide to run with.
I've noticed a common theme in your rants & spam posts. One of your central complaints against the player base is a common occurence you suffer: getting booted from teams.
Maybe, just maybe, if you showed a shred of initiative and formed teams yourself you wouldn't get booted from them.
The problem lays with you, not us.
You totally give yourself away with how you close your post "Is it a fear of the unknown?"
As though you're in a place no one has or could ever be.
Laughable at best, pathetic in reality. -
Here's a thought: is the flashback system in this game unique to this game? Do other games offer their player base the ability to retrieve any content they had missed along the way either through Orobobo(for the anal-retentive amongst us it's Ouroboros) or ex/mal?
I'd imagine at the very least 50% of the player base would cease power leveling if the ability to return to lower level content was removed. This is obviously a bad idea to implement now, since flashbacking, in whichever manner, has been a staple of what makes this game great since it's inception.
So where's the compromise? Should there be a compromise? Are the majority of the player base, as well as the devs, of the mindset that "it's my way or the highway" with respect to those of us who have played content from lvl 1 to 50 and back again for months if not years?
So how do we fix the PL problem in this game? -
When you create a custom critter, you have 4 settings when picking power sets. When you click on standard, hard or extreme you will notice certain powers are pre-selected. In order to receive xp for customs you are not allowed to remove any of the pre-selected powers.
You are able to add powers to the pre-selected powers and still earn xp. The key lays with not removing any of the pre-selected powers.
Now if a minion on standard is pre-set with 3 powers from any given set you are not able to swap out one of the 3 for another and still earn xp. The fact that the minion still has 3 powers means nothing.
Whichever powers are pre-selected at the given setting must remain selected.
If you say you didn't change any of the pre-selected powers, then I have no clue what it could be. -
Is this thread supposed to be a "pull april fools joke on the nubs" type deal?
The thread Two Ways of Get Going Rogue answers this Q doesn't it?
Or has new official, as in redname, information been posted on the forums?
edit: wait a minute....I answered my own Q right?
hahaha very good. -
Quote:I stand corrected. IOs will not provide their full enhancement value when you exemp down to lvl 32 and below. This is not true. Diminishing returns is based on your actual level and the level you exemp to. The level of the IO does not matter. Also very small bonuses might not get reduced so double and triple IOs can work at full value down quite low. A level 50 Quad works at full value all the way down to level 21 for example.
wiki linky -
Quote:Level 1: Aimed ShotIs this really true? The catch 22 of Set IOs to me has always been that set IOs enhance more than one aspect of a power at a lower percentage than an equal level basic IO. So is it really correct to say that slotting a six piece set of lvl 35 IOs into a power gives ≥ accuracy, damage, and end redux than say slotting two lvl 35 SOs, or two lvl 30 basic IOs of each?
You get the set bonuses with the set IOs of course, but do you really get better acc, dam and end redux?

Keep in mind if you ever exemp below the level of the enhancement you'll experience diminishing returns.
Set IOs are the way to go. -
Quote:Hate to nitpick but that highlighted word might suggest "set bonuses" to some. Better to use enhancement values. It really depends on how you intend to play the character
Getting them 30-33 is very exemplar friendly. Getting them later in the game gets, the best bonuses.
Only you know how you intend to play the character, and that determines your answer
Sorry. I don't mean to pick a fight.
;=/
I also am in the habit of slotting sets in the low 30s for the purposes of exemping. -
Quote:Is this a joke?I think we need more weapon choices for DPs. I really could not find one of the current options looks good; and most of them are not colour tintable except the lasers.
I suppose something along the theme of hi-tech, alien and acrane would be nice. For example, Crey, Rikti, Talsorian, Nictus and Nemesis pistols.
The set went live just 15 days ago for those of us who prepurchased & we're now getting cries for more guns........ -
Quote:In other words,Kicking butt and looking awesome doing it is better than just kicking butt. More than that, though, this is about remaining true to the character concept.
As for power customization, I hope they *do* eventually put it in for power pools, but even if they do I'll still be able to use most of these IO's in a build with Hasten. I'd only have to drop one power (which would have to be either Stealth or Combat Jumping), and move a couple of slots around to squeeze Hasten in. I'd end up dropping one of the LotG +recharges, but I can always resell that or move it to one of my other characters.
I'll have to think about the weapons pool. It's definitely in theme, but I hate giving up the fitness pool. Still, it's a good suggestion and might be worth the sacrifice. Thank you.
concept=gimp. -
I don't have a problem with this.
A game cannot stay absolutely unchanged for more than 5 years.
Adapting to changing circumstances is part of the human condition. -
Quote:I stand correctedDo you honestly think that Dual Pistols is gimped, or is that just hyperbole to elicit a response? The breadth of secondary effects we receive through Swap Ammo means that you can:
- Stack -damage with other debuffs, or with resistance. In fact, -damage functions like resistance.
- Stack -recharge and slow with other debuffs.
- Stack holds with other abilites.
- Stak stuns with other abilities.
- Stack -resistance with other debuffs.
Dual Pistols works best with Corruptors and Defenders that can employ Swap Ammo to layer greater values of a specific debuff on opponents-- they also receive better values than Blasters do.
It seems that a lot of the Dual Pistols complaints stem from what I call "Willpower Syndrome," for if a new set doesn't obliterate every previous set in raw performance, either damage or survivability, then it's clearly gimped. People complained about Shield Defense for months until the realized how (over)powered it was with heavy IO investment. Now they're cool with it. I'm glad that Dual Pistols isn't blatantly overpowered relative to previous abilities. We have enough power creep in this game as is.
Dual Pistols works. It offers the second best base accuracy of any set, and has a powerful single-target attack with 1.4 base accuracy. It offers good DPE, and has a huge spectrum of secondary effects that indeed provide significant game play value-- perhaps being better suited for buffing/debuffing classes. It also happens to provide the most utility while being lower-middle of the pack in raw damage. And check out those PvP numbers...
Pistols is a very solid blaster set.
I didn't mean to say the set was gimped.
I meant to say my dp/elm build is gimped -
With all due respect....perhaps if we didn't have so many people during beta that were in AWE of pistols animations but instead looked at the set for performance....we might not have a really, really cool looking GIMPED set.
Ok rant over.
My apologies if I managed to insult anyone with my criticism.
Overall the Devs do deserve an A for effort.
I hope pistols isn't any indication of how demons will function in the game. -
I use bridges to get my alts into my SG.
It's not too bad for me since I run one alt at a time. I'm not the kind to jump from one to another in the span of a few weeks. I run an AT & if I like it I keep running until it is lvl 50 & slotted up to the max. I then rinse & repeat.
Obviously you have to alter the permissions of all your sensitive storage bins when dealing with a bridge but until the devs give us off-line sg invites you can't get around this headache. -
Two possibilities here:
- He has been exposed to an AE exploit where a lvl 50 MM is able to mal. down to lvl 1 or 2 & keep the pets at lvl 48,49,50
- or this idea just sprung into his mind & he's not sure how to get it done.
-
The animations seem to last too long for the damage delivered.
Animation for Piercing Rounds, in my eyes, looks....weird. Perhaps the animation could have been a triple-blast sequence. Two single shots from both guns followed by a third with both guns simultaneously. In order to have the power deal the damage in a single blow, as opposed to 3 rounds of damage, the 3 animations would have to be fast..like the blink of an eye fast.
I think Bullet Rain should have been called Explosive Rounds. A variation of the Empty Clips animation with multitudes of explosions occuring around the target.
Change Ammo..now if there aren't any plans to change damage dealt or animations, then perhaps they can bump the damage conversion to 50/50?
I haven't gotten to the tier 9 but I'm sure you've already read what others in the Dev section have said about the power. Right now it sorta looks like a set holder, which is a shame for a tier 9.
Bottom line: I'm offering my opinion only. So before some nut jumps on my back about how I'm whining let me be clear...whether the Devs decide to alter the set is irrelevent in my eyes. They produce a product, you either buy it or you don't.
Which is how I approach this & all power sets. The Devs own them, they design them as they see fit, take it or leave it. -
-
Who cares about no 2xp in AE.
AE PL is already fast.
Give it up already.
For the record I do use AE to lvl up fast, I just don't feel the need to complain about not getting 2xp there.
That's just beyond greedy.
