I have an IO'ed out nrg/nrg blaster. I love to PvP with her. She dies a lot. But, also, by the same token, I've killed EVERYONE in the train station before, I've killed EVERYONE camping the hero base. Sometimes I've gotten a 10:1 kill ratio.
* I bet you don't suck as much as you think...on a team with an emp...you'll kill waves of villains, even with only generic IOs.
* The 'vet' PvP'ers whine so much because they have to work now...they don't get it easy just because they built a /regen or nrg/wp stalker. Also, they whine, because in reality... they aren't very good either
If I see a toon in RV with no SG, no badges, and no title...I usually 'take it easy' on them, since they are probably a newer PvP'er. But the 'regulars' I shoot on sight all the time...usually, because I have a grudge against them from an earlier fight.
PvP doesn't need 'fixed', it just needs less 'whining', and a few tweaks.

Wow, you're so good. -

If the dev's attempted to balance pvp then they should put a daily use limit on phaseshift or take it completely out of pvp.
[/ QUOTE ]
No, if they'd attempted to balance PvP they would never have added these retarded travel suppression rules. With the new travel suppression, taking Phase is basically a necessity for a PvP build.
Phase and Hibernate are legitimate powers - I don't complain when my target uses them, because I know that once they come out of Phase they can't use it again for another 90 seconds. -
I think the effectiveness of Doms as farmers will be lowered once Psi Assault is "rebalanced" but I don't think it'll be a game-ender (people that farm with their Doms will probably continue to do so, though the people that want the absolute best inf/minute will switch to Brutes if they aren't already using them). /MM Blasters do decent at farming despite their version of PSW, though a lot of them are Arch/ and rely on very +rech-heavy builds to spam RoA. I think Doms will be fine but certainly not as good as they are now - I'd be interested on seeing numbers before and after these changes go through.

No, you don't "need" an AoE, especially not on a villain. Only time AoEs are even semi-useful is against Masterminds but you won't be facing many of those. Your attack chain as a Sonic would probably be Amplify, Shriek, Scream, Shout.
-
Emps have Absorb Pain, y'know. They don't get anything out of it except the -heal. Also, you're level fifteen. Your powers aren't slotted well, you don't have World of Pain, you don't have Anguishing Cry, and you don't have Painbringer.

Running Maneuvers is a waste of endurance. It provides very little benefit unless you have a lot of defense to stack it with (you won't). Maybe take it to hold a Luck of the Gambler +rech IO, but other than that don't bother.
Siren's Song doesn't have much point. It's a cone sleep with a short range, meaning you need to be close to the target to use it, and the target will be awoken as soon as you attack them again - even then the sleep will last at most a few seconds. Not worth it. Shockwave's not very good either unless you specifically want to break through knockback protection but as a Corruptor that's not what you want to be doing (leave that to the Grav and Mind Doms).
Howl has a short range, long recharge, and high endurance cost. It's not worth taking for the damage it does. -
I've got the shields on my Therm mostly for a place to slot -KB IO's.
-
Stormies are usually the only things that give my MM too much trouble. The other thing is defense-based builds but that's more due to my secondary having a heal that requries a tohit check (I'm Thugs/Dark/Mace). Nice thing about Dark's heal though - the heal itself is a pet so it's not subject to diminishing returns (you are still affected by heal decay, but if TG heals for 450 HP in PvE, it'll heal for 450 HP in PvP, unlike other heals), and Power Boost + TG is a massive heal for a low-HP AT (mine is something like 563 HP).

I'm pretty sure you can't enhance the +res in PFF though.

I seriously doubt we'll ever see a no TS pvp zone, as that really screws over the melee classes, and to-date we just keep seeing increases in the amount of suppression
[/ QUOTE ]
I think that a zone with I12 suppression rules would work just fine, with the addition of unresisted suppression when hit by a melee attack. -
Not all fighting in zones, and not necessarily all dueling. For example I can spend a good deal of time fighting one specific opponent but most wouldn't consider it fiteklubbing if we were both moving around, using inspirations, and doing everything we could to defeat the other player and stay alive. People usually consider something "fiteklubbing" if they're doing something like meeting under the statue of Atlas in RV and standing there trading blows without moving until someone dies.
-
I think it's just a quirk with how the powers are flagged to factor in (or not factor in) strength mods and external buffs. There are lots of odd things like that in the game.
-
I'd rather have a Fire/TA Corruptor...
*runs screaming* -
Drop rate is relatively low but it's been averaging something around 1 per 80-100 kills in arena matches for me.
-
Got my first boss drop on test while I was playing through the new SF. Was a Freebird +Stealth.
-
You're better off slotting the chance for hold procs or damage procs in your attacks.
-
If you're a zone Therm, teams will love you for taking your heals and shields. I can't tell you how many times I've been in RV teamed with like 2 or 3 other Therms and none have their buffs or heals.
-
The amount of XP loss confuse powers would cause on a high-damage team is negligible to say the least. All confuse would be doing is making alphas safer for the squishies.

You will HATE Freedumb.

Wha? I much prefer Freedom PvP over Justice. S'pose it helps that there's actually people in the zones... -

How about in RV when the last person takes over a Pill Box an option window opens and you get to choose what to turn on or off in the zone (DR, Heal Decay, TS, PvP resist, etc...). It will give the pillbox a better reason to be in the zone.

How bout y'all just get the eff over it already and deal with what we have?

Dealing with [censored] is never pleasant. Ask most farmers. -

However, if you level pact a character and get its pact-mate to 50 and never play the other character, there is something wrong there. To me, that is exploiting the system (there are several exceptions to this opinion however, a lot, actually).
[/ QUOTE ]
Really? I was under the impression that level pacts were supposed to be used to gain XP for both characters even if both weren't online. Seems like a legitimate use to me.
