Is it just me or would TA/Fire be awesome?
I have been wanting TA/Fire since they first announced power proliferation. I really think a TA/Fire will be a monster in PvE.
I'm curious whether a Kin/Fire would beat a Kin/Ice. /Ice has two powers that do Blaster-level damage, where /Fire would just have one. I'm sure the higher damage in RoF would make a difference, and Fireball and Fire Breath do a lot of damage, too.
Still, the Kin/Ice Blizzard would do a whole lot more than the Kin/Fire Inferno, so maybe Kin/Ice would do more damage than Kin/Fire in spurts? I don't know.
Regardless, if Defenders get Fire Blast, it'll be a TA/Fire I roll, not a Kin/Fire.
Bye, everybody!

Kin/Fire will PWN all.
I'd roll a TA/Fire in a heartbeat.
is there any word of /fire being added to defenders?

No, but supposedly all "appropriate sets" will eventually be proliferated. I see no reason why defenders should get every other elemental blast set and not fire, eventually.
Someone else will probably respond with a link or quote to back this up sooner or later...
Try out an Archery/Fire blaster.

Sorry Largo, not even close to the same as TA/Fire. Fire/Devices with a ton of I/O's would be a "little" closer but still doesn't touch what TA/Fire would be.
I'd most prefer a storm/fire myself. I could maybe handle a sonic/ if I had fire too. (can't seem to make a sonic that lasts long enough)
I'd roll a TA/Fire just to have another TA too
TA/AR will provide better AoE damage capabilities, methinks.

I think you underestimate our fools, sir.
Why /duel is a bad idea
Even if we got AR over TA/AR is double weapon sets. Doubtful we'd ever see it.
BS/Shield is a double weapon set.
The reason we don't see Katana/Shield is because they both take up the left hand weapon slot.
The bow takes up the left hand slot, the AR takes the right hand slot, so there's no reason why we wouldn't be able to do it (at least, within the limits of the game, dev choice is another matter, why they wouldn't let you do it, however, is beyond me)

I'd rather have a Fire/TA Corruptor...
*runs screaming*
"One day we all may see each other elsewhere. In Tyria, in Azeroth. We may pass each other and never know it. And that's sad. But if nothing else, we'll still have Rhode Island."
But you can't make it in MA. And BS/Shield is not a double weapons set, its 2 single handed weapon sets. Both TA and AR are double handed weapon sets. You can only combine weapon unless they're both one handed, seemingly, until they change that aspect.
Though, bane spiders screw with that rule a bit having the mace AND a two handed rifle.
Just saying it's unlikely due to the logic exhibited in the MA creator.

Both are actually 1-handed weapons, they just appear to be two handed because of their animations.
The only 2 handed weapons in the game are
Claws
Dual Blades
Spines
These sets attach "weapons" to both your right and left arm.
Assault Rifle and Archery attach a weapon to your right or left arm respectively, then use postures to show the weapon being used by two hands if they were 2 handed, you would always have to have it in both hands, which you don't (look at jumping, etc)

Why /duel is a bad idea
Although Kinetics/Fire blast would probably be the highest damaging combination for defenders (or at least nearly tied with /Sonic), wouldn't it go pretty well with Trick Arrow? Disruption and Acid arrows for -40% resist, plop down Oil Slick, and lay a Rain of Fire on it. You'd get the (minor) damage of RoF plus the damage over time of a lit Oil Slick! Plus, you can toss in Fireball and Firebreath for their AoE damage.
Does this sound like a fun setup to anyone else?
