Quote:This is really odd. I had to do the same thing about a month ago. New HDD and reinstall windows. Took less than an hour over my 7.8Meg connection. Thanks to my 1TB HDD deciding to make noises like the clockwork king (Boo!
) I had to reinstall windows (which also coincided with an upgrade! WOOHOO!
). that was all fine, no problems. I also had to reinstall CoH. no idea where my discs are and even then the latest disc I have is probably CoV.
No problem I thought, i'm rocking a 20 meg connection, I'll have the game downloaded in a couple of hours. Erm, actually, no. Not even close. I know my connection is working as it should because I re-downloaded CoD Black Ops through Steam. Max download speed 2MB a second.
As I'm typing this, the NCSoft Updater is rocking along at 69kb/sec. Sometimes it'll have the odd moment where it peaks up to 250-300kb/sec but it only stays there for a few minutes. I've tried changing it to US instead of EU, just in case, but this made no difference. This is torture. Oh, now it's showing 12kb/second. That's like double dial up. Seriously guys, if you're not going to give us a boxed copy of Going Rogue in the EU, liek we cried out for and asked for many times, at least make sure the downlaod server is up to the task of letting people download it! <NOT HAPPY SMILEY FACE>
I've just started the battlefield 2 download through Steam. Within 10 seconds of launching I was running at 1.9MB a second again. it's NOT my connection! Is there anything I can do other than leave it on all night?
Might help to post in the tech issues forum might have a better shot at getting some advice there. Hope it speeds up for you -
Ah 1 level from Rage and pretty much only ever missing due to the 5% rule after that point. +20 to hit makes those CoT ghosts not nearly as painful to deal with

Tanker Defense.Fiery Aura.Consume
Brute Defense.Fiery Aura.Consume
Thats copy pasted from the power info screen in game. Which has of course been wrong before but I think that City of Data doesn't have the updated info.
Was just looking and they still have Burn listed as having the avoid flag set http://tomax.cohtitan.com/data/power...p?id=Pets_Burn -
Quote:It will not boost +resist.I know if you use Power Boost and cast Fortitude, it can improve Fortitude's +defense value? Isn't that A LOT of +defense? lol
It doesn't list under description but maybe it's a typo because I can't imagine why they would include +defense but not +resistance?
Has anyone tried?
There is something with the game flags that won't let it happen. It is the same issue with using power boost or power build up with the cold shields. They are not effected at all due to having a resist component -
Quote:Welcome Back. Are you part of any global chat channels? This is how most teams are formed these days.Hi folks,
I've been having a really hard time finding teams. I'm on the Infinity server.
I just resubscribed a couple days ago, after taking a break for 1-2 years. Last I played, I could usually get a team together in 5-10 minutes. Now that I'm back, I tried the usual routes:
* Going to zones appropriate for my level, and using broadcast.
* Using team finder to see who's in a mission, and sending them a tell to join the team.
* Trying to build a team from the (scant!) few un-teamed people in my level range.
I've tried this with my low, mid and 50 characters, and had no luck.
Where are all the teams? Are people doing content I'm just not aware of, and that's where I should go?
Or maybe the Inifinity server is just too low on population to support ad hoc teams anymore? Should I wait for the next free server transfer and move?
Thanks!
I prefer Infinity Badges 2 for the public channels. There are others but the names escape me at this time.
Many people are focusing on their 50's right now and running the incarnate Trials. Infinity tends to meet in the RWZ to form these trials except on Sunday nights when they move to pocket d so the weekly scheduled ships raids are not crowded out of the RWZ.
Head on down to the Infinity sub-forum and say hello. There should be a listing of some of the near term planned events for the server from TF/SF runs to the myriad of events that PERC puts on.
We just had a player auction and right now they have a weekly trivia game running.
Hope you have fun! -

Oh I like this. Don't stop with the Nova Fist though. Also have the artillery barrage have it's 1st strike hit right next to him so the 1 shot code doesn't save them.

Quote:I would be inclined to wait to kick these people when Marauder had about 5% health left. Might aswell get some work out of them before you show them the door. This is pretty much what I was saying.
If you're done with your part, go for it.
But don't stand outside while the rest of your team is getting slaughtered trying to do the sabotage phase shorthanded.
If I happen to be leading one and notice that someone is dancing outside, and never even entered the map, I will probably kick them, especially if the objective gets completed anyway. I mean, if we completed the objective while they were standing there dancing, they pretty much just proved we didn't need them anyway.
Probably just me being petty but I am a petty person I just can't help it -
You just want to get to 20 as fast as possible and not play the toon again?
Make a Claws/FA brute. Make a fire ambush farm that gives full xp that locks at level 3 so that you have hasten and spin. Go craft a hand grenade temp power. Get yourself a set of good keybinds for insp combining and go to town on your mission. Should take less than an hour -
Quote:You can email the IO's from one character to another. You will however as you noted need to have a respec available to unslot the IO and you can only pull out 10 IO's at a time by using a respec.Once slotted can you transfer an IO to another character, for example if you re-roll? Is it "bound" to your character ala WoW?
I know you can transfer things between chars via your chat handle, but am curious if you can somehow get that IO to a re-roll or alt or whatever.
Could you respec, then just keep the IO's in your inventory, then mail them, or is it one and done? -
Quote:Pretty true of everything in the game. I recall when people said the ITF was hard.Haha, that must have sucked.
I agree, lambda is only hard when you don't know wtf to do.
I am willing to bet that we have as a player base mastered these trials quicker than they had anticipated. -

To Ultrawatt congrats! I see 3 level shift insp in the tray. Did you need to use any during the event? -

Been great fun for the years I have been lucky enough to be around.
Hope we get at least 7 more years of great entertainment from you guys -
There is a thread in the tech issues forum that has one person showing a 10x increase in the amount of data from pre patch to whats being sent today.
Now he doesn't go into details or specifics but if the servers are for some reason trying to pump out 10x the data they were prepatch that would cause some bottlenecks I would think.
Hopefully the more tech minded of the forums goers will have something to say about this -
This post has the links in question I believe.

Quote:It's been broken forever. The only place you want the +end proc is in stamina, QR or Physical Perfection.Shouldn't they fix this soon? Why would they have Accuracy modifiers in the set if it isn't meant to hit an enemy? That makes no sense at all. I'll have to try this out and verify it.
I also believe the Energy Manipulator chance for stun proc was never fixed just disabled from working period but someone else would have to confirm that. I know you used to be able to slot it in speed boost and have a 10% chance to stun the team member you had just buffed. -
Quote:A quick search for an Ambush farm will more than likely turn up the SS/FA farms of choice.Actually herding stuff to corners doesn't take much time at all, at least not on city outdoor maps. Plow through a couple spawns with Hurricane and your travel power of choice running, drop Freezing Rain at the nearest corner, and while they jog into the Patch of Certain Doom you can be taking out a third mob with regular AoEs or Judgement. Between the slow and knockdown of FR, nothing but bosses (which I assume you turn off for farming) are getting out before the broken Reactive Interface kills it - no need to stand there and watch it do its work.
I'm not a huge fan of farming, but if there's some sort of gold standard test for farm runs I'd be more than happy to test out my Storm/Energy (the anti-Brute) on it with a timer running. I doubt I could set a record time, but I bet it'd be competitive. I would feel bad about exploiting the poorly implemented proc, but I reported it before it went live, so now I get to sit back and enjoy until they fix it.
Going to be comparing apples to pineapples though as the point of these farms is that they are made to fit the strengths of your toon.
From having run them for fun on both a Elec/FM blaster and a Fire/Traps corr I know they can be done on squishie toons at up to +2x8 no bosses without much stress with some insiration keybinds. It is slower than the brutes by a good margin however.
The brute is able to ignore almost all the damage being thrown its way. Its only concern is hitting AOE's and popping more reds to max damage.
I won't argue that freeezing rain, sleet, rain of fire and anyothers that I missed are not awesome powers. I love them on my own toons. They have their drawbacks though.
Scatter being foremost of them. Even with reactive helping to melt mobs those at the edges get away and have to be dealth with later.
In an ambush farm this is doubly counter productive since your bound to be at the agro cap and nothing new is going to move in close to take the spots of the runners until something dies so that agro can shift.
I would love to see the times that coors and defs can put out though with the new incarnate tricks available to us. It would be truly awe inspiring if we saw jumps in ambush run times the likes of which we saw in pylon runs since i20 -
Quote:Don't forget the other drawback. If your target dies while the power is animating you just wasted your Ion and have to wait 90 seconds for it to come back around.Sorry but that's basically the trade off for the fact that Ion takes forever to activate.
The flip side to it being able to arc back to a target that has been hit before is that you almost never ever hit the target cap of 40.
Even in a ambush farm thats packed wall to wall I hit around 16-20 guys with the power. -
Quote:Fair enough. I don't think even killing all on one side is going to run the timer down with 16 people doing it together.I know all those things and I just TOLD you what teams could do differently: treat the side area as 'defeat all' rather than 'collect 10 glowies'.
And, realistically, if people are actually running Lambda three times in this 'aberrant' fashion to get these annoying badges, I doubt that the salvage drops are their highest priority.
I will concede though that people wanting to run it 3 times in this manner are probably uncaring as to what drop they pull at the end. -
Quote:Sure you meant doesn't and linking to Tvtropes is just evil. Now I am going to spend at least 30minutes just clicking links off of that page alone.... ThanksOne thing i like to mention about SS (i think it really help efesive the point) is that with even a cheap IOed build you can finish the mish either before or right as you are getting the 1st rage crash and still often ticket cap. So yeah, rage does slow you down at all even WHEN you use it. Which is pretty nice.
-
I have found on my /traps toons that having the chance for hold procs in both PGT and Acid Mortar will do a lot to keep things bunched up.
Normally I lead with seekers, move in and drop Acid then PGT and finish off with caltrops.
This will keep any normal size spawn locked down for a good 6 seconds. That doesn't sound like long but with the aoe that the bots put out it tends to be long enough so that only hard targets are left.
For extra giggles toss the chance for KD proc into caltrops -
Quote:Once the fix for the badge goes in on tomorrows patch you are going to have to make 3 runs to get the MO badge.Well, the normal tactic seems to be to focus on the containers and leave loads of mobs wandering around. If you are only working on one side, I would think you should trash anything that moves.
On one run you get all of the acids and 0 of the grenades while using no temps to beat Marauder.
On another run you get all grenades and 0 of the acids while using none on Marauder.
Then the last run you get all 20 temps and still use none.
On two of those runs your going to have time left over that you have to wait out before Marauder spawns.
If you do nothing for that time your killing your participation rating and trapping yourself into a thread table just for the badge.
I know that right now on live you just go to town and get all the temps don't have to worry bout the timer running down because after 10 seconds the exit port happens and Marauder shows up but once the fix is made your going to have time left over that you have to wait out
So I am more wondering what teams are planning to do in the future than what they do now.
