Teams - where are they?
What level range? Quite a few folks are going to be on 50s doing incarnate trials. Makes the pickings a bit sparse for anything else at times. (Try soloing a zombie invasion on a mid-teens controller.)
Hi folks,
I've been having a really hard time finding teams. I'm on the Infinity server. I just resubscribed a couple days ago, after taking a break for 1-2 years. Last I played, I could usually get a team together in 5-10 minutes. Now that I'm back, I tried the usual routes: * Going to zones appropriate for my level, and using broadcast. * Using team finder to see who's in a mission, and sending them a tell to join the team. * Trying to build a team from the (scant!) few un-teamed people in my level range. I've tried this with my low, mid and 50 characters, and had no luck. Where are all the teams? Are people doing content I'm just not aware of, and that's where I should go? Or maybe the Inifinity server is just too low on population to support ad hoc teams anymore? Should I wait for the next free server transfer and move? Thanks! |
I prefer Infinity Badges 2 for the public channels. There are others but the names escape me at this time.
Many people are focusing on their 50's right now and running the incarnate Trials. Infinity tends to meet in the RWZ to form these trials except on Sunday nights when they move to pocket d so the weekly scheduled ships raids are not crowded out of the RWZ.
Head on down to the Infinity sub-forum and say hello. There should be a listing of some of the near term planned events for the server from TF/SF runs to the myriad of events that PERC puts on.
We just had a player auction and right now they have a weekly trivia game running.
Hope you have fun!

The teams are usually being put together in RWZ or Pocket D.
Note: You MUST have the Going Rogue expansion to run the Incarnate Trials, or do anything else incarnate related. If you do not have it, you cannot join trial teams.
(yes, it's worth paying for)

I try to run at least 2 TFs a night if I can. Look me up at @Bookkeeper Jay and watch the Infinity TF channels.

Global channels are a great way to meet people online and get teams. One that tries to help people on all servers is the Mentor Project.
I'll be running the new Trials later this evening on Infinity - so you're welcoem to join in

have you joined the main global channel? i'm not familiar with infinity, but if you head to the subforum, there should be threads that tell you what the most active globals are. they tend to not only be good for teaming, but good for reliable, competent teaming. one warning is that right now a lot of people who had a backlog of 50s is probably running trials, so you may initially find a lot of people occupied there. if you have a 50, that may be an option to look into.
You answered it yourself, you are on Infinity. Go to Freedom or Virtue.

Inf Badge Seeker - A 'badge' channel, but all TF's and many arcs have badges.
Infinity Hamidon - A 'raiding' channel, but general teaming the other 160 hours of the week.
AE Anonymous - For all teaming EXCEPT AE stuff.
Good channel - I'm a mentor on it, but it's cross-server. The ones listed above will give you the most 'bang for your buck' for finding teams specifically on Infinity.

eh let it slide, there were constructive answers, focus on them.

I restarted my corruptor at lvl 21 when the new incarnate slots first game out and so far I've got her to lvl 41. *sigh* And all I'm really trying to do is get her to 50 so I can hurry up and start the incarnate stuff up on her.

Right now Infinity is the fourth most populated server (behind Pinnacle, Virtue, Freedom) and there is... 43 people showing up heroside on /search, 21 of which are level 50s. There's a grand total of 11 people (including me) under level 45.
I can see why the other servers seem nicer, you can't meet jerks if there isn't anybody else to play with in the first place.
(Yes, yes, I know, most of you are USA! USA! and don't give a damn about these hours of the day. And there's obviously three hundred players on /hide. Please carry on with the Virtue/Freedom bashing.)
Based on above comments, does that mean that Infinity Badges has been replaced by Infinity Badges 2?

I'm not logged in now, so I can't check, but I think the name is actually Infinity Badges 2.0. Hopefully someone will be along shortly to confirm or refute this.

One thing which concerns me is that the developers seem to have made it an objective to keep people perpetually and constantly interested in end game. So even when the current "stuff" grows old and stale, they'll be trying to add more. More raids, more powers, more unlocks and so forth.
I'm not sure the current over-interest in end game will ever end, or at the very least will end any time soon. And I'm not sure it's intended to.
Samuel_Tow is the only poster that makes me want to punch him in the head more often when I'm agreeing with him than when I'm disagreeing with him.

To the OP: (as others have said) definitely figure out which global channels your server is using, and if you're interested in the Incarnate stuff, hang out where the trials form up. You'll be back to teaming in no time.
Arc# 92382 -- "The S.P.I.D.E.R. and the Tyrant" -- Ninjas! Robots! Praetorians! It's totally epic! Play it now!
Arc # 316340 -- "Husk" -- Azuria loses something, a young woman harbors a dark secret, and the fate of the world is in your hands.

end game also existed long before incarnates were a defined concept, first they were hami-os, then they were the good recipies(usually the named ones),then then they were purples, maybe pvp ios too, they were insanely expensive for a while, havent looked recently. and there always has been a "tilt" to some content over others. katie hannon had her day in the sun, the cap sf was popular, and the itf was and still is kind of a darling of the masses due to its speed and dense enemy groups. but long long ago it was a lot easier to get a itf running than eden trial(especially after they fixed the exploit), people just gravitate towards things that require less investment for greater reward.
really outside of just after launch with perez hunting, i dont ever remember a time that one could just get a group together very quickly just by broadcastin., but on the same token, i also dont remember a time that it has been easier to find a group, thanks to the functionality of the global channels.
Sunday I ended up with one teammate trying to do a WTF. I didn't time how long we tried (yes, using global channels), but since I was in Striga and playing a transfer from redside, I decided to work on my atlas medallion. Killed 200 each of wolves and vamps with a MA stalker and never even got a third member, let alone enough people to actually start.
In general, if I'm trying to start a non-incarnate team these days, I make sure there's something good on netflix.
