  2. I'd also like to see us on one page...I'm only on one of them myself for that reason.

    I also wouldn't mind if we took it a step further on these boards and have Z/mods stop allowing posts in every forum. For example, how necessary is it for all four of the beta forums right now? Most of the general help forums could be asked/posted in the players questions right now...I seriously doubt many of us are writing new guides right now, not likely anyone is worrying drastically about finding badges, etc. But I just may be going overboard with that idea.

Haven't played the other games you mentioned but I tend to solo a lot at max settings, so yeah, if it's fairly similar to what we have now...and/or the story/arcs are the almost exact same...I'd admit I would. Wouldn't quite be the same since I adore PUGs and am not sure they'd be as easy to come by but I'd manage.

  5. Wish I lived near any of those places, they would already have been bombarded with cakes/cookies/cupcakes with various game images because that is MY most creative outlet. Unfortunately I don't think we'd have much luck with where they need to be sent most in Korea...could be wrong though.

    Very nice article! One minor nitpick, not sure if it's warranted, but City of Heroes still is around for now so why use "was" when referring to it? Specifically it is a reward winning game just sounds better to me than it was a reward winning game. Or is the past tense better because no one new can join? Like I mentioned, minor nitpick. Overall I love the write up, recommended it, and shared it on Facebook already! Thank you for writing it up!

  8. So, now, wait a sec...I'm a little slow but something just clicked. Since Nexon is the largest stock holder currently...couldn't we write them as well and try to get them on our side to help save our game? Odds are I'm a day late to this logic, or well, much of anything logical since my baby has been having a beyond rough week adjusting to his first week of school. Feel free to point me to the right address(es) to send a letter to them if the logic is correct and already posted elsewhere, that'd be MUCH appreciated so thanks in advance!

  10. Thank you sir for the update! Part of me is hoping they won't upgrade everyone to VIP only because they've reconsidered shutting down the game (wouldn't that be the best news ever?!) BUT I'd sincerely hope they give everyone VIP to say goodbye to their characters so I'm glad it's still being considered at the very least. Thanks again for the update! =)

Not that it matters, but after reading this thread completely (and I should likely quote but am not re-reading everything to do so) the 54 million comes from multiplying 9 million customers (accounts/whatever) times six (which represents 1 dissatisfied customer telling 6 more potential customers how dissatisfied they were). 43 million characters made had nothing to do with it.

    Either way I doubt there were ever 9 million different people that have played this game, but suppose if the max was even 500k, well that times 6 is still reasonably impressive.
  12. Yes, but at this point I think anyone who can afford to would agree to it if it meant that or no game at all. I've got multiple accounts and would personally think even $25 a month would be acceptable, especially considering what it costs to go to a movie once a month or buy even one new dvd or one new video game a month for that matter. Heck, my family goes out to dinner once in a while and that also costs over four times what I pay for one sub.

    Thanks for making me smile. I'm a LONG time lurker of these forums especially and love what you all scheme and are able to do with the market. I've learned a great deal from many of you and have enjoyed all the advice over the years even if this is the first proper thank you y'all get from me. This also explains why 12 bids I've been sitting on for over a month now were suddenly filled over the same night (even one ridiculously low bid that was a reminder to bid for myself in a specific personal project once a specific character had the money sorta thing...almost feel guilty about that one....almost). The market is absolutely crazy right now!
  14. Haven't been on-line that much these past couple days...briefly caught the announcement before turning in late Friday night. Then have spent the past few hours catching up on many posts/things over quite a few websites.

    While driving with my family yesterday(Saturday) I could not help but digest some of my thoughts about the announcement and it struck me that surely if we are such a special/unique/exception to the rule community we will rise to the occasion. That idea alone helped my sadness for the 80 that lost their jobs and the players who are losing their second home/escape/etc as well as my own disappointment for myself change. That one idea of us players rising to the occasion, win or lose, made me smile. It reminded me how no matter what odds we faced in-game together, we'd try stubbornly to get through it, and how supportive we are of one another even in the worst of circumstances. I'm positive while examples here would be nice almost everyone already has a few of their own and relates to this.

    So, I jumped on-line a few hours ago hoping to find MY community that cheered me up Saturday. Here are a lot of you in this thread and I'm proud to stand with you all. I don't have tons to offer, but what I can I will. If we have to go down I'm going down swinging!
  15. Yes, I can totally see the new IO bonuses letting builds forgo grabbing tough. For me, tough and weave are not must have powers and currently I'm happy not grabbing weave and using IO set bonuses if all I'm chasing is a little extra defense. Yes, aware it has more than defense going for it and it's good for all types but it just isn't as shiny to me as other choices sometimes.

    Then again, I'm also the same dummy who was playing with ED before it was in game so I kind of think I don't look at the game builds the same as a lot of players. Until ED came about I actually thought we could only slot one enhancement of any type (dam/acc/range/cone/whatever) into a power and I've been playing nonstop since issue two. Boy I cannot tell you how game changing that was for me..and, well, embarrassing. In other words, if I'm in the minority with my viewpoint it wouldn't be a first.

    At least if my take on tough and IO bonus changes is wrong it won't make the game more difficult to play. Should be interesting to see once the dust settles at any rate!
  16. Oh man, didn't realize the Liberty event was the same night as the Exalted one! Should have read the schedule...but my little shark will have to live without the awesome title even if she's likely one of the VERY few who has school of sharks (and uses it) in her build. That's an embarrassing oversight on my part. *blushes*

    Anyways, I'd like to thank the devs for the event. In spite of Lusca's head not taking damage, then oh my word, 8 more spawning in a stack briefly redside I personally enjoyed all the Coral enemies. My poor daughter gets stuck listening to me excitedly telling her "Oh my gosh Coral there's a whole enemy group named after you!!!" the duration of the battle while she's trying to ignore me playing Minecraft and hoping her friends can't hear her lame mom on her headset. I'd love to see the screenshot if it can get posted that one of the other villians took of the stacked Lusca by the way, too.

    Also, a very big thank you to the devs for the water blast code!!!! Completely unexpected and cannot wait to come up with a theme now to put it to use. Usually do not win anything so talk about having my cake and eating it too! I look forward to playing the event more this week, it's a nice change of pace and (for me personally) blows the Nemesis stuff out the window. Love, love, love the theme of it all!

  18. Arcanaville, the 50% does seem high given that health was a second tier power and grants only 33% duration reduction to sleep. I realize 50% would really only make it 25% shorter based on how the mechanics go but it probably shouldn't work on all mez durations better than what a tier two was given, you know? Hehehe, something tells me you've likely given that thought already though. My suggestion of 5-10% apparently was too low based on other percents in this thread but it just seems on for a tier one power in my head. The run speed portion is interesting thematically, a fighter being faster/more mobile...I like that idea too.

    If a sixth power (like the new paid pool will have) isn't doable, making Kick an inherent like brawl and adding a new passive to the pool in place of Kick would be cool as well. Kick would likely have to lose it's KB if that happened, but no power pick to get a kick attack on all my characters would be worth that for me. =)

    Also I'd like to mention I'm not in favor of Tough being a tier one power choice...I just want a choice between the two current tier one attacks. Usually I take kick due to it not looking like brawl and no redraw issues with weapons. Well, and I like to kick better than punch. It'd be nice to have to put a little more thought into it personally, that and not feel like I'm wasting a power completely on some characters.

    In my opinion this would be a brilliant change to the pool as is!   20. Geez relieved it's not just my pc! I ran/attempted to run this 6 times before auto completing it. Changed my difficulty settings, graphics, tried single target pulling tactics, fought facing away from the giant group, etc...bummed it's bugged but feeling better about my pc again. Hopefully it's fixed soon, would love to be able to play through it eventually.

I bought a couple of those other costumes-not because I wanted the ones available so much as I REALLY REALLY want the dark mistress one, had extra points at the time, and was hoping my purchases would encourage them to sell more. Unfortunately, (in my opinion) I sorta think they're nervous or in no hurry to release more due to all the negativity when the first ones appeared on the market. After seeing all the silly (imo) vanity pets and de-toggle travel powers it makes me sad if we don't see these make a return at some point. Also like all your other suggestions for market adds too.
  22. Yeah, this would be a nice thing for them to fix. Cannot stand how you exit the elevator when solo and just groan as you see it's coming. I can fail just fine without help thank you very much!

    Think it's triggered in the same sense as some missions (just noticed this in a few RWZ arcs a week or two ago) have all the captured allies talk to you as soon as you enter a mission as if you've just aggroed their captors...which also bugs me because those rikti tunnel maps are huge and I like them talking when I'm close so it's easier to find my allies or whoever I need to rescue.

    Fixing PvP?

    Nice to see someone else from GR! =)

    Sorry, was a little past my bedtime so forgot to mention why I was thinking re-leveling might sort of help (and yeah, have not pvped since issue 12 so didn't think about the ssk impact-yuck!). I was thinking it might help to go from 4 zones to 3 zones so pvpers have a better chance of bumping into each other randomly. Yeah, realize we have forums/channels/SGs/VGs so it isn't rocket science to get everyone into the same zone but not everyone in-game uses the tools available. It's not my desire to personally have more pve zones because we have a ton of those already, but I'd hate to see a current zone just thrown out completely. Hope that clears what I was thinking up a smidge.

    Then I got to thinking, you know what might be neat is if they added a team-up deal for forming a pvp team to the LFG tool. Like, once eight joined it'd automatically send your team to the zone of your choice (maybe set minimum for "event" to six). Wouldn't fix pvp, but might attract new players and be an interesting skill test for the good pvpers. Not sure what, if any reward they should offer for playing using the LFG (inclined to think it'd get used without any incentive but I may be a bit niave/hopefully optimistic there).

    Fixing PvP?

    For what it's worth Thirty-Seven, I was genuinely thinking they should cut their losses in a similar way with the zones but leave Arena alone (well, fix as requested still) a few days ago. Trouble is, we just have no idea how small "small" is with regards to actual pvpers. An ehco of zones hadn't occurred to me (and really not sure that's a good fix) so I was sorta thinking maybe they'd be better off re-leveling three of the zones for pvp and turning one into a co-op zone (though the fan of all things redside in me says a pure villian zone sounds like a brilliant idea).

    I'd stretch Bloody Bay to 30 or bring Warburg down to 25 and leave Recluse's Victory as is with Siren's Call being switched to PVE just because (unless they've changed something since pre-issue 13) the pvp rewards in that zone seem more lacking. Well, okay, I also really like that map. Sadly, even this would be inconvient for those who still pvp since they'd have to re-IO builds with different level IOs with zone level changes (I think).

    Hehehe, that or maybe all zones should be switched to pvp except co-op ones...oh leveling speed would likely plummet for a lot of us if that happened but it'd definitely get pvp fixed. I laugh just thinking about the nerd rage that would cause, it sure wouldn't get me to quit playing this game though.

    (For anyone with zero sense of humor I am joking about all zones turning to pvp...but seriously DEVs, why has this not been done as the most awesome April Fool's joke EVER?!?)
  25. Glad to see the BOTZ universal enhancements in the store finally! Wanted very badly to buy a couple of the KB protection ones in February and was rather disappointed they were not available. Unfortunately, they have appeared a little too late for what I personally wanted then (used villian/reward merits instead) but nice to know for new projects it's available now.

    However, sheesh is my timing awful. Two weeks ago (or was it 3?) I bought some character slots since they were 25% off and rarely seem to go on sale as well as a couple of the war wolf charges and some of the dual resist/defense inspirations. Guess I should have waited a couple weeks, but think I'll pick up some more with these prices. For me, this is one of the best weeks the paragon market has had for stuff I want and sale prices I like so I'd like to show some support.

    Also, assuming someone in marketing or development reads this, I want to give you guys money for a temp self-healing power (isn't there one in game with 10-20 charges?), a breakfree/? 5 minute dual inspiration (or longer if you want BF by itself), and, well, more temp powers in general provided the costs are in line with what you've already got on the market (holy shot gun shells, etc.). I've also been extremely patiently awaiting the dark ring mistress costume and cannot wait until we can buy it in the store!
