Quote:You can't have two creepers out, it's like a pet that follows you.I love this build concept.
I have plant/poison with a similar purpose.
For my tastes, I've incorporated a couple differences into carrion creepers (I have it slotted for dam/rech with only 3 procs) and I have anchille's heel -res proc in flytrap in place of a damage proc. In both cases I figured I'd be doing more damage and have the CCs out more often.
I've also been talking up the virtues of Burnout from the speed pool. Having 2 creepers out is something fun to see. -

Whether it be melee or ranged. Which builds can be viable stuffed chock full of the MOST procs to melt and blow things away in a sea of RNG goodness.
P.S. Are dark melee chainsaws still viable? -
Quote:Actually my complaint stems from a bug in COH, where using the right+left click to move and then hitting a power causes you to autorun and youll just keep running all over the place. This problem makes it a pain in my *** to be super mobile. I've missed plenty of cones and such for due to this problem. I've moved with the keyboard AND mouse since my Everquest days, I'd rather form the characters to work in the style I prefer than deal with their shortcoming and be frustrated with the character. You're only complaining about cones. I find that funny as someone that's been playing a long time. Do you just hate cones?
There's nothing wrong with a cone if you stick and move, unless you don't slot for acc, then it's your problem.
I find a lot of people in game want to stand in one place and attack. Guess what, you're not gonna hit the maximum number of targets without setting it up!
I don't mind cones at all, as I play aggressive, and I'm willing to move into a good position for max effect.
You limit yourself by your lack of flexibility.
If you want to stand still, roll a melee toon!
I'm not saying all cones are good, I'm just saying you have work sometimes
If you have problems with cones, don't blame it on lag, ungrade to a better ISP.
And you're not complaining about any other lag than with cones, that's wierd.
Edit: Do you have this lag solo or just on teams? -
Quote:Dear God, may we see it?Darn, I hadn't checked my recharge time for that on my planned build.
well, what ive planned is 10 seconds off, which isnt the end of the world, and still, unlike crabs, most of the illusionist pets cant get themselves killed.
Just for hilarities sake I planned burnout too, just to see if tornado/waterspout are stackable -
Talk about suspense?!?!? Where my tanker buzzsaw?!?
-
I'm curious if there are any builds that have the most procs firing off, damage and all. It would be interesting to see groups melt in RNG goodness.

Has anyone thought of this as an interesting concept for powers? I think it would thematically work as a controller or a mastermind set, I'd be interesting to hear what kind of ideas the community can come up with.
Some ideas I had included:
Scribe mechanic- Let's you paint lines on the ground (like a path aura) effectively giving you a custom area of effect. Paint a line create a wall. Paint a circle, encompass groups. Jump and paint lines in the air for giant magical ink tentacle monsters,....etc.
Portrait- Paint a portrait of a foe capturing their exact image, this can be used to possibly copy powers or summon doppelgangers....such as...
Oragami- Contruct a magical copy of one of your portraits to fight for you until it rains and gets soggy.
Writer's Block- Turns mobs into a 2d piece of paper like a hold or something.
Draw friends- Let's you draw with your mouse and have them come to life. I dunno
Other kinds of mimicy/copycat/bluemage style ideas.
Of course this isn't even the beginning of a viable concept right now, but I imagine the ability to copy, draw, summon, do papery types of things could be leveraged in a creative way.
So now lay on me your guys' ideas! I really want to see if we can think of something cool. -
Jesus, I'm sooo close to rolling one now because of this. Would there by some insane chance be a build around to this effect?

All but one of the primary powersets seems to have a cone attack. I have to either choose elec or skip the cone powers in the other sets. Is is viable to skip the cone attacks ever? Are there any powerset which have more skippable cones than others? And last but not least if I were to be forced to take a cone which would have the least penalty if used like a single target attack? (meaning pretty much end cost...etc in case I only hit one mob.)
My problem is that a lot of times due to lag I hit the cone at the wrong time or i mis target or a mob runs behind me and botches the whole cone. I'd rather just spend my end on other attacks. -
Quote:It helps if you try to sound more like an ******* when answering threads.Vague question is vague....
Ok, WTF does 'best' mean, TO YOU.
Do you want MOAR DAMAGE? Fire aura.
Do you want to live through the sky falling on you? Invuln.
Do you want to be the freakin' energizer bunny and never ever stop? Willpower.
Do you want to be OH SO FAST? Electric armor.
Do you want to be the delicate but deadly king of the battlefield? Super Reflexes.
Etc, etc, etc.
There is no 'best.' There are only 'good' at various different things. -
Since you've left some of us can play on Macs not, so posting nothing but a raw data chunk doesn't help anyone, since we can't use mids.
-
May we see the build version with the powers and slotting visible. I am on a Mac and unable to use Mid's. Thank you. :3
Can anyone just pop it into Mid's and import it? I really would like to roll one of these. -
I find SS/fire to be way to squishy. I can't even stay alive doing +1/x8 tips. I'm using ss/fire/mu and it's a fully purpled out farming build from ultrawatt a year ago. He has level shift spiritual but no other incarnates. He just dies way too fast.

Quote:I like the cut of your jib, False.Almost every controllers I've played end up with some sort of damage attack chain. I do however have a couple slotted purely for control (Earth/Rad and Mind/Emp). It's actually more rewarding than most players might think. Granted, I have a bad time soloing, but I can pretty much lockdown entire spawns for ridiculous amounts of time - even without betting much on recharge.
Recently I've moved to Virtue server and since I'm not willing to pay or wait months for server transfers, I'm going to build my toons from scratch.
So, I'm trying to figure which combos I'd like to try for pure control. I don't care for damage even if it makes a single radio mission look like the whole Dr Quaterfield saga.
That said, I'm looking for suggestions based on your own experiences. A few combos come to mind in a heartbeat such as Earth/Storm, Earth/TA or Mind/TA.
I'll admit /TA never caught my attention, but since my goal is pure control, it really becomes a valid option.
I rolled an Earth/time because of this thread. Now I need a build D: -
I agree. I stopped playing my BR because the rate of spread is too much of a "C-tease" for me. Not very satisfying when it just refuses to happen and the team kills everything before I can get off that nice aoe.

More importantly, have any issues been fixed?

An Engineering type who places a variety of powerful stationary buildings like turrets, power stations, control effects. They cant move while fighting, but it is offset by their higher effectiveness.
Maybe have a teleporter which can automatically summon enemies into the group like teleport foe.
Direct fire of your mobile fortress upon advancing enemies today!!!
