Quote:I have stacks and stacks of Luck Charm bids in at 15k a piece. They all eventually get filled.
I also have stacks and stacks of Luck Charm sales in at 50k a piece. They all eventually sell.
It's ridiculously easy to make money off stupid people.
I have stacks (well, one stack) of Rare enhancements for 30 million each. You make 500k off your stack, I make 300 million off mine. It's all how you look at your time and what those market slots are worth, I guess. -
Right, I think what was implied that he bought the Peacebringer as a Premium, either before or after he was VIP. There's also a chance he has it on his account already, due to Paragon Rewards (I'm guessing he doesn't, but it's there nonetheless.)

Quote:And, you *are* losing your mind.
Ah, well. Good to know, I guess. -
It sounds like the 25% regen is better, but what is your current normal HP max? What would 3.4% HP actually get you?

Quote:At present, I can get these already without spending any money...
Dispari, you mention that the LotG will retain the level 50 strength while at
25. You're referring to the IO strength and the bonuses? Or just the bonuses? I'd thought they would scale down with level.
No and no. As Lisa and Z man are saying, normal IOs that you get in game no not "scale down" their set bonus. They retain their set bonus until you are at 5 levels below the actual level of the IO, then *poof* it's gone. (Enhancement bonuses for in-game IOs do scale, I believe.)
Store bought sets keep their bonus all their way down to the minimum level of the set. For LotG, that means the set bonuses for a level 50 LotG are effective all the way down to level 25. Big difference in performance when exemplaring down. -

Where did "Britain" come from? You realize his location -- Long Beach -- is in California?
And I've never heard of a requirement here in California about posting a "No Refunds" sign. Maybe it really exists, or perhaps it's a local ordinance instead of a state law, but it's news to me. -
I think the shoes would be the hardest, as there's nothing like the knee-pants and buckle shoes in game. I'm guessing: Pilgrim hat, vampire ruff/cravat, wedding tux with the tails. The rest you'll have to do out of standard parts.

Quote:You might want to reconsider having a brief lapse in your sub time. A loyalty promotion begins December 1st. If you maintain an active account from Dec. 1st through March 31st, you get a bunch of free stuff:
http://na.cityofheroes.com/en/news/n...ty_program.php
Right. Applying the code now will just add 30 days onto your current subscription, with no lapse in between. And give you any GR goodies right away. And allow you to provide feedback to the seller right away, instead of say a month and a half from now, when dealing with any possible redress will be just a bit harder.
If you have a really good reason, well waiting's OK. But if it were me I'd apply it now and just take the extra time. -
Quote:sadly yes... I have had this same thing happen to me before. Right in the middle of taking him down and suddenly poof. One time we were so close to defeating him I thought we had and was shocked when I didnt get the badge or reward merits for it.. then I discovered no one on the team did and when we investigated on globals found out that even if he is actively being attacked when the clock runs out Scrapyard despawn..
Frankly I think this should be addresses by the devs and fixed. I could see if no one bothered to attack him then allow him to despawn after x amount of time.. but if a team is actively battling him.. just let them deswn him for you.
You know what would help? One of those zone event pop-ups like Praetoria has. At least that way, you'd know how close he was to despawning and if you needed to pile on the damage. -
Quote:If I were to buy the "Going Rogue" edition of the game, I assume I'd get 30 days of play time and some new power sets/costume pieces unlocked. Would it also give me...
Right, that wiki link above tells you what you get if you buy a box from a store. However, GR is not sold in the online Paragon Market any more. What they sell now has been broken up into two separate purchases: Praetoria and the Alignment System. I think the online market is pretty clear, but I wanted to be sure you and any one else understood what's going on with their current offering.
You can see a list of all of the current online market items with a short description here:

Yes, FotM for a long time, near over-powered. Make sure to take Fearsome Gaze when it's available. Post questions in the Corruptor form for more infos.

Quote:the helm of tartarus is VERY similar to what recluse wears
the helm of zeus doesnt really resemble what statesman wears at all (the valkyrie costume set faceplate is prolly closer to what statesman has)
for references:
statesman
lord recluse
It always seemed to me that the inspiration for Statesman's helm was a barbute (bar-BEWT, I think).

Quote:Tangent: Black Hole
I really want a power that mechanically copies the mental image the name brings to me.
You drop a sphere. Everything in a large radius around that sphere receives knockback toward the sphere. Everything that actually touches the sphere is momentarily phased, turned utterly invisible, and takes a large amount of crushing damage. Bonus points for a 'stretched/sucked into the sphere' graphic.
This would actually be super cool if they could manage it. Sorta like Omega Maneuver combined with Wormhole.
One modification: I'd like to see any enemy sucked into the black hole become invisible, intangible and not able to be targeted too, like CoT ghosts. That way, while they're gone, you don't have team mates getting confused and wasting attacks them or wondering which ones are able to be attacked.
Then at the end, the black hole dissipates and spits everyone "back out." They end up KB and stunned for a few moments, allowing the team to refocus on the new arrivals. This will probably need an excessive End cost and Recharge, but would be worth it, just to have a cool power like that. -
Ah hah! So....
While some Darky sets are being looked at and proliferated, any chance we could get Black Hole looked at for existing /Dark Miasma players? Please?
I think the whole "lets give the enemy Intangible" is the biggest problem. Possible fixes include substituting Stun for Intangible, or substituting Stun+KB (my favorite) for Intangible. Could also give the TEAM Intangible, rather than the enemy; that might work.
Other thoughts welcome. -
lol Black Hole
Quote:Fade is a short duration, long recharge, high defense boost to your entire team. It's intended to prevent team mates from being defeated when they're low on health. This will hopefully give you enough time to fire off a Twilight Grasp to heal them. Internally, I've heard it compared to "a weaker Moment of Glory for your team". -
Can't Titan Weapon be taken with Shield Defense? I seem to recall that it cannot. I'll just interject here that I really love the damage Buff that Against All Odds gives me, as well as the extra AoE from Shield Charge.
-
There's at least some VIPs that have extra points floating about. Why not spend them on a fun item? And then of course some people actually will plunk down extra cash for this. If that's what they want, I won't begrudge them.

My answer is: in no way am I "heavily" into RP.

Someone already took my answers.
Quote:So I am returning after quite some time away from the game. I am looking solid ranged class. I've been playing around with blaster with dual pistols/devices and like it but I'm not sure about later on in the game how survivable at solo she will be. any advice?
Emphasis mine. As mentioned, any class is soloable, but any sort of blaster can be darn hard to solo. My answer to "how survivable" would be "not much." If you're determined, you can do it, but it'll be a haul.
Forts and Crabs are pretty much a cake walk. They're SO survivable it's silly, and their ranged attacks, while not a rival to a blaster, are still quite good. Fort's have decent controls built into their two best attacks (unlike psi blasters, which have a chance for a control), and Crabs have great -Res and -Def, great for solo and even better on teams. Neither of those classes have low damage attacks; more like medium to high, depending on the attack.
My final advice is: stay young, go dancing. -
Quote:EXACTLY. And to tie it back into the OP, when a League Leader gives the choke order without proviso, a good "soldier" knowing his capabilities (i.e. do good damage at the door) may seemingly ignore it to gain that tactical advantage....
Also note, BAF is very forgiving in the sense that someone can disregard the leader's orders
I do this regularly, although as you say only on phases and trials where I'm sure I know what I'm doing.
During the BAF prisoners phase, if I'm on my AoE toon with modest control, I'm always at a door, or camping the sidewalk just in front of a door (Force Bubble is fun against prisoner minions). And if I'm on a high single target damage toon, I'm always at choke points and chasing lieuts.
During the final BAF phase, I always switch to whoever has the highest hit points, even if the leader calls my team to concentrate on either Nightstar or Citadel.
But these are things that I'm certain will benefit the league. I can't think of any other time during a trial when I'm actively doing my own thing. -
Quote:I like these ideas. All the 15+ content should be moved out of there (TFs that send you to Boomtown at level 15, for example) which is a shame, but 30-50 content is needed.Level 30-50.
5th Column.
Not co-op. Parallel content for heroes and villains.
Some content for Freems, but some paid-for or VIP only would be ok too.
Parallel, not co-op, I like this idea. Not PVP, let heroes and villains in and make stink eye at each other but not fight directly. A few end-game type of missions that are co-op would be ok, some sort of existential threat.
Add a breach in the war walls, let some new groups in (Malta, Arachnos), have one group tunnel in, etc. Clockworks retreat, clockwork King should be out of that fight, ooo, maybe some Praetorians show up, could have grey side clockworks.
I'd like to see some contests that don't involve PVP. Like two sides try to compete to complete a mission first, etc.
OK done for now.
