Quite a few of us rp in cov, but I am not aware of a regular "gathering" outside of RP villain group meetings.
Finding a good IC reason for such a gathering is I think harder than CoH.

I like BB, wish it was used more
wish there was less bots too.
They might have been builds designed for higher end play , I know some high lvl builds can really suck if they get forced down to a lower level (ha teach you all to try to get the fitness pool and a travle power by lvl 14 :P ).
DG> -
I have not bothered with the leadership pool or fitness, though perhaps if I used my MM in PvP more I could see my self needing fitness.
Smoke grenades are a pain, those seconds of not knowing what is around, and being unable to target your minions effectively **shudders**.

Keep an eye out for Damselfly ,Damsel-fly, Tech-tech or Tech fire , I'll team with anyone and allways need a good agro magnet

Moving around in any combat situation is usually a good thing...But it has only limited use in PvP here in CoX due to the nature of some attacks/moves that plant you for a split second...Moving around has minimal effect on the comba capability/effectivness of a stalkers AS (which I think is not one of their best attacks anyway
).
Even I have managed to AS people when they are moving around like rabid hyper monkeys..

There are quite a few role-play VGs on union, and a whole lot of other peoples who dont mind teaming with role players
EVIL are good, though I have not been able to rp with them recently as the VG I'm with has been quite busy with our own missions.
The Gotterdamurung conspiracy normaly has someone on line ( usaly me :P) and we're more than happy to rp with others
Disclaimer: All incorrect spelling is mine. -
I'd drop Serum to free up the slot for Neurotxic breath, serum sucks But that nice cone slow effect of NB rocks!
And it makes me smile watching the elite bosses/heroes reduced to a crawl as they try to move -
Yep PvP in COH+COV is ok
Are stalkers the only viable pvp AT? Noooooo. I managed to get my 400rep with my blaster, and I have a fun attitude to pvp and death
---Heres a secret..this aint a rpg...its just an mmo :P

lvl 36 Mercs/poison on union, and there is a lvl 40 Mercs/dark in the SG too.
They rock, even the grunts are still good to have around (not just for the medic).

Would must rather play #Aberrant than COH TT, and I tend to enter a killing frenzy at sight of most WW stuff
Look at this way, perhaps they'll include a coherent background and world view in the TT version which we can use to better understand this game

Gazebo:
Heh that allways makes me grin -
Interesting question.
There are some powersets combinations I just will not consider for any of my hero role play characters, due to the difficulty around balancing game mechanics and not murdering everyone you meet (whih if you ar using a broadsword is very likely).
But that said, in the comics combat in urban areas is usualy as result of poor writing or last resort ("my god Chickenmeister! That villain has a portable planantery fusion detonator!!!!! We cant wait for him to leave the city! Attack!").
In the real world such thingds do happen in a mundane fashion, police are forced to use lethal force, armies forced to engage in urban areas and so on.
The use of such actions do not make the characters weaker/worse than others, it is the justification that matters.
A lot of does depend on other peoples reactions, if the rest of your team does not comment if you use UberDeapthpower43 to arrest the mobs, then you will carry on doing so.
I like to think that some of the people my chars have bashed, burnt, frozen, crushed, shot, screamed at,drained in fact surrendered once they realised that they were facing a lot of pain and possible death.
(such a mechanism in the game would be nice..) -
The only poison power I can think of that has a -fly type thing would be Paralytic poison, the single target hold power (which rocks), I use that quite often to bring down flyers.
-
Just remembered to check while I was online with my MM, according to the ingame text and the power description it just reduces their Accuracy,Damage, and secondary effects (heals, stuns, holds de-buffs, that kinda thing).
Hope that helps. -
Hihi,
One of my chars in the wiki is gone, but I was not sure what the protocol is with regards to non-existant characters/deletion.
Anywhoo I've left a little note on the bottom of the character info thing, but have not deleted him myself as I know some Wiki's only let mods do that.
((Yes it was Longshot, nooo twas not a name deleation..Though in hindsight I can see how people might have been shocked the name go through))

I have not seen it manifest a -fly so far (am at lvl 33 now), but I do know that the immob power does

I've got an EM'EA brute, was a bit of a slog to get to lvl 20 going solo with little noticable effect from my auras.
EM has a good turn around on attacks, though which helps out a lot,but does suck up the endurance I found that unlike my Stone/Fire I had to really think about the usage of my toggles.
All that changed at lvl 20 when I got energy cloak, it fits in my char concept really well (think heavy stalker/stalker support), does not use much in the way of end, looks cool, and allows more control with enemy selection and tactics.
My most used toggle= Entropy shield.
Overall I think EM/EA brutes are "heavy scrappers" as opposed to "damaging tanks", and should be played like that at low lvls.
---
My stone/Fire brute was a big hitter, slow but capable of handing out huge damage, the only problem really was the slow attack speed..but when he hit..ouch.
---
There seems to be a lot of DM/DA brutes around,so they must work quite well. -
The thing to do in situations like this..
Chill.
**Insert rant about people using the "im only acting like a villain/hero argument"**
**Insert what I think to be something funny, but most likely isnt**
I use pvp to cool down from pve, sometimes the endless crawl through missions and yet more annoying enemies does get dull, and the chaotic death fest of pvp where getting killed does not matter is a delight in comparison.
At times the swarms of enemies outside either of the bases is annoying, but there are ways to avoid them..The most important thing being, a coordinated action.
Talk with the other heroes/villains,plan what you are going to do.
The other morning I was in pvp (where did all the Ice corrupters come from?!!) it was another low heroes numbers Vs lots of villains situation, and through well exicuted use of stalkers and ice corrupters we eventualy got pushed back to the hero base.
Thus started the typical disaster of "heros only use the road to try to escape" plan :P
Backed up by "heroes dont talk to each other".
We were still getting kills in, and giving the Vs a good bloody nose, but with no combined action we were getting islolated, frozen and killed, oh and used as bags of kinetic healing for the villains wounded
Despite all of this, there was little to no griping..Though I did miss the villains use of one liners ,there were deathly silent a lot of the time

I find the -fly effects are just to powerful sometimes, but then thats all down to having messy secondary effects..The whole lot need a tidy up.
Idealy in Pvp I would prefer to run Fly+SS or Fly+TP, just so I can make best use of my blasters powers, and like others have said utilise a lot of peoples natural blindspots..Oh and to chase down perps..
I am a big supporter of "Falcon" tactics for blasters...The sky is for killing, the ground is for fun -

It's definitely cowardly. Like I said in the first place it's understandable cowardice, almost cowardice by design, but it's stinking fear none the less. Let's try applying the same logic to the other ATs. "If I cannot win in three moves or less without my opponent being able to act, then I will not fight."
[/ QUOTE ]
That would mean I win by default
Yay me!!
Spurr FTW!
Screach-bonesmasher-shout-shriek-scream-stun-shout-bonesmaher-energy punch-teleport..Thats my attack chain
I only consider it a dangerous situation if my last four attacks have all missed in a row and I am low on end, then its time to scram out of there -
Stun..
That made me laugh when IW as making my brute, I scanned the powers and allmost wet myself to see that the poor brutes had to put up with that power at a fairly high lvl, as opposed to Spurr(sonic/en blaster) who was able to take it low lvl.
Its soooo slow, effective if it works..But lets be honest by the time the animation is over, the rest of your party have left the mission, created new chars and hit lvl 50 allready with them....Oh and you miss the villain anyway
Whirling hands is great, and usefull at keeping the mobs close to hand -
The role-players are easy to find.
We're the ones screaming about how nothing in the game works or makes sense
A good way to find RPers is either the GG meetings on Union, or to periodicly scan through the team search menu seeing if anyone has RP or something similar in their search text..
DG> -
If you're only scanning it, or expect people to use those funny squiggles called question marks, then it was easy to miss as a question
Psionics have low damage, a good recharge rate (my dom can pretty much keep the lvl 1 power blasting all the time its recycle time is so low).
I've put the psionic power sets in my box of things I think need some loving from the Devs
