You can even keep "Hide" (rename it, if you like). Scrappers, Brutes and Tankers don't get crits out of hide, and they can't benefit from Assassin Strike from Hide. Keep the Defense bonuses and treat it as a stealth power inherent to the set.

There's absolutely no reason Ninjitsu wouldn't make a fine set for other melee archetypes.
Remove Hide, Caltrops, and Smoke Flash. Then you just need to back-fill 3 powers. Actually, Blinding Powder should be removed from a scrapper version as well. So that's just about 1/2 the set gone.

But Praetoria? Forget about it. I dont even bother. Way too hard. I even had issues on some brutes and scrappers depending on type. If they made it to where Praetoria was the only place anyone could ever make a new character again, I would have to stop playing CoH.

So I am just curious about what massive, broad and deep sweeping nerfs were made to Praetotia. Because I will never go there again based on my last experiences there.

My most recent Praetorian was an Ill/Dark controller that I took through Praetoria solo in a few hours. I was out before I had run out of story arcs and I was only running the Resistance/Crusader ones. I left Praetoria without reaching the end of the RC story. Praetorian mobs just don't scale into the 2-3 player teams well is all. Large teams are fine and solo is fine. Certain small groups do quite well too.

I do this for most characters, but I have more than a couple that are still pure.
  3. I'd rather see a Ms Liberty that breaks away with her [redacted] organization and become a real vigilante org.
  4. I might have just noticed but I'm pretty sure it wasn't there last night...

I just logged in a character to run the DA intro to get him in for trials and... all my toggles were just as I had left thema few days ago. I quit to desktop and logged in a character I had run a few trials with last night (around 10 ish hours ago) and all of her toggles were in the state they had been when I logged out.

One of the best QoL tweaks ever (I tend to be toggle heavy)! Thank you dev's and the code-monkeys that do the heavy lifting.

Gotta jump all over this one.

Praetoria has no magic outside of First Ward (or at least very, very little).

    DA is... yeah, okay.

Who Will Die was about a COMPLETELY NORMAL GUY who spent 10 years acquiring information and magical relics to help him accomplish his goals. Normal guy. Natural origin.
  6. No. My controller already has 9 uncontrollable pets (10 when a pet summons its pet). There are LOTS of sets/combos that have pets as the OP pointed out. Want pets? Use one of them.

Or in the other small settlements that are scraping by. Where at least one of my Praetorians actually comes from.

How do these time-locked RPers deal with multiple people on the same mission? "Well we just rescued Statesman from Tyrant. Let's do it again."
  9. [QUOTE=Lothic;4182981]It's been mentioned/implied that Positron was a fan of Robotech. I would have to guess that whatever we get that's called "Mecha" is going to be influenced by that style at the very least:

Super Dimensional Fortress Macross. Super Dimensional Cavalry Southern Cross. Armored Genesis Mospeada.

Sorry... a bit of a sore spot.
  10. Rommy in this case replaces the Voids that would normally spawn if you have a Kheldian on your team.

Rommy is an Elite Boss that can make the final fight slick like butter. It appears that if an EB Rommy dies on the platform he rez's like the AV Rommy (consumes an essence, etc). Since the EB all but melts under a teams firepower you can burn through the essences with the EB, then just obliterate the supportless AV in short order.

It's been bugged. I've bugged it myself. I'd LOVE if they used the nictus aura on a Perfect Castrator and used him instead of Rommy to replace voids. Much more awesome.
  11. If it weren't included in my VIP sub I wouldn't use it. *shrug* I do since it is, but it's not really my thing.

In the real world, Ligers can weigh in at more than 50% more than a lion and are generally about 3m/10ft long.

In game, Ligers and Male Lions are the same size. Can we get a %30-%50 size increase for the Liger, please?
This is your concern? Does the scorpion-esque tail not bother you more?

We're extremely happy and flattered that so many of you are so excited for Staff Fighting. While I know many of you are upset that it's not released now, we also have to be responsible with the cadence of releases on the Paragon Market.

What do I mean by that?
    • We do not want to release Powersets on top of each other. There needs to be separation between the releases of new toys so that people who are excited by them all, which is much of our Community, have time to play with each.
    • If we release too many Powersets too quickly, it could be seen as a grab at your Paragon Points, and subsequently, your money. While we certainly appreciate you buying Paragon Points, we also have to be responsible with how we encourage you to spend with us.
    • We have to balance perception. There has been a perception we've been focusing on melee Powersets recently. Real or not, these sentiments need to be taken into account.
    • Various other reasons.
I do see the requests for a calendar detailing the release schedule for the Month ahead. I'll bring this suggestion to the business team. A consideration to remember; this would involve changing the website which takes months to accomplish.

Again, we're extremely flattered and grateful for the excitement being shown about Staff Fighting. Take comfort in the fact that your stick waving itch should be scratched Very Soon™.
I actually figured Staff wouldn't be released until a month after BM just because it would allow another tick of stipend points for VIPs to prevent the perception of "point gobbling".
  14. I think I need to transfer one of my disposed of 50's to Triumph and get in on these "alternative" trials

This was actually the reason given by Zwill I believe. Check the Dev Digest (might be in the community section).
  16. I don't think she's gone. I think she's riding along somewhere. Might have even faked us out...
  17. Pay off all debts. Increase standard of living slightly by moving closer to friends and buying a new, still small, car. Quit job. Build new gaming rig and keep it up to date hardware-wise. Visit more friends outside of the country. Join a gym since I'd now have time to go.

*shrug* Mostly I'd just never need to worry about my finances but I wouldn't go crazy.
  18. My characters either exist within the "white list" of the lore, or don't exist within the "black list" of the lore.

This. Well, with the typos corrected, but otherwise spot on. The global channels I use now are Broadcast and LFG. That's it.
  20. I was okay with the way SSA1 concluded. Maps and enemy wise I was very pleased. From an "epic" ending feeling... Meh? It had some of the right elements but didn't really have the world saving feel somehow.

Overall (so the entirety of SSA1) the story was excellent, the maps and tile sets we saw were awesome, I felt important in the scheme of things and the progress was good.

A few new plots were lined up with new NPCs and old NPCs making a comeback.
  21. If fire doesn't kill it you're not using enough fire.
  22. But Rularuu was imprisoned in another dimension so would he even be able to empower us? The entity in the Storm Palace isn't even Rularuu according to the WWD arcs.

    4. Add more time to day.
    5. Invest in energy drinks and/or IV.

I'd be happy with 1 and 2 myself.
  24. Over the last two days I've done:
    2x Keyes, both successful
    1x SLAM, successful
    1x MoM, messy but successful
1x DD, time expired at Sentinel
    1x TPN, successful
4x BAF, 3 success 1 fail at prisoners because people didn't really get the choke point method

Previous to those I haven't run a trial since before Keyes went in. I'm on a newly 50'd controller but it is my 2nd 50 controller, 24th 50 overall and 44th character in total. All that is just to say that even though I may not know the mechanic of a trial, explain it and I'll figure it out. I've done this enough to know what I can and cannot do with my character, even when I was only 50+1 (still only that actually).

It can get aggravating when you spend 15-20 minutes forming only to fail in 5. Just dust off and go again.

    Is it justified?

I've spent lots of extra cash on points for frivolous things, let alone power sets. I don't mind at all. If the time comes when I can't afford it, or even to pay my monthly sub, then I'll re-evaluate but for now I'm happy to contribute to the development funds.
