Thanks for that reloadgfx command! (I'll have to test it soon! I remembered that there was a command, but not what it was)

I've been having the occasional massive lag for a minute or two, where I can barely move or act, although I can sometimes attack by randomly hitting ranged attack, I just can't tell what happened. Then it eventually stops and all is right with the world. My wife doens't get the same thing, she locks up on mission exit or otherwise zoning after a few missions, on rare occasions out in the street.

This has been going on for me since shortly after issue 21 or at least winter event start. a real danger when I'm running with the Iron Eagles II SG on Justice, where dying equals retiring the character.

I'm going to make a macro button for it to spam click when the lag hits me.

    /macro rGfx "reloadgfx"
  2. I've rebound the tilde key (~`) just above the Tab key to target nearest enemy on my default keybinds.

You might find this will help you or your wife since it puts my favorite 2 targeting methods handy, with no Shift/CTRL needed. Nearest is especially handy for melee chars. Although just double clicking powers often works great too.

When my wife was new we turned on "click to move" to help her move around, it let her mouse click where she wants to go, and get there, in the early days. It's easy to miss-click and end up where you didn't mean to be though... especially when you try to mouse target.

My wife was frustrated at first, but has now been playing about 6 years
  3. This got half the eagles i brought in today... not sure why some and not all ... so i stopped loading any more, even though I want winter stuff for them.
  4. Shoulder Falcons, Parrots, Crickets, Pugs, ........ Labs
  5. I have the Pocket D teleport power from one of the booster packs. I always use it at that part of the arc. That way i can leave Pocket D from the sewer cover in the hallyway and it drops you out into Faultline right near Mirror Spirit.

If you have it, it's quite an annoyance saver for that part.
  6. but at least surviving death is what ghosts do best
  7. It drops off in the train station for a zone. I believe p i was on my list of hero destinations. If you choose the zone you are in, it will drop you at the tram, a nice feature in places like those islands the circle like in talos, to get back to train up or go to ww.
  8. Turning off reflection has helped me some in those rooms, but not a perfect fix. I think it's the sheer amount of surfaces the game is drawing.

At least, without reflection, it's one less thing for the card to compute for the surfaces.

The Praetorian labs become much much smoother by dropping the subtle reflection on those walls.... on my machine.

That said, I'm not running a great video card / system, but it's good enough for lower end ultramode shadows, and full reflect, and water outside etc.
  9. Sorry folks, the circle of thorns needed new snake skin costumes, so the snakes missions are a little short on spawns til the next big hatching season.
  10. make A shield tank.skip shield charge.grab leadership, medicine, presence, stealth pools instead of secondary s powers. Maybe even tp friend.

Max taunt, personal defenses, grant cover, leaderships....you'll be useful on teams....with only brawl and secondary attack soloing would be agonizing.
  11. on the Iron Eagles sg we play "death equals retire". Last char I died on was slotting enhancements in mission, and got hit by an ambush.
Now, I hit shadowy presence before opening enhancement screen. Only other use I've had was hitting it along with rest.
It wouldn't be bad as a ghetto costume change emote...
  12. I used to die a lot on my FF def by double clicking my personal force field, thus turning it ON and then OFF --- long recharge .... AAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, On all my chars with emergency powers, I create a macro for them.

    Something like
/macro PFF "powexectoggleon personal force field"

I put that macro icon in my main trays ... and move the original PFF power icon up into a floating power tray elsewhere ... that way, I can frantically keystroke or mouse click my PFF macro icon as much as I like, and it will only turn it .... ON

only trouble I have now is noticing the danger and reacting fast enough
  13. The Super Leader was also added to allow replacement of top rank folks who never log in anymore. When the settings are set to only allow the top rank or two access.

We had this issue in the Iron Eagles II SG where the SG.... and, especially, the base, was worthless due to the couple folks in the top 2 ranks never logging in. Almost all the SG was in the bottom 2 ranks, which had few permissions, with only a few in the higher ranks at all.

Eventually, the 45 day timer knocked them down to where an active player could gain Super Leader control to reset Rent paying, base access, and editing rights and other other SG settings, like promotions.

Fortunately, the "Invite to SG" had been set low enough for the rank and file folks to least do that during that time.

We now try to make sure that the active players are promoted high to keep the SG active.
  14. I believe you need to start in Paragon
  15. Well, on the kid's channel... the commercials use animation of singing, dancing, sheep clones ...the Dolly Partners

Thus I am back, and subbing for the time being, restarting my starting characters I had left on Defiant.

Been ages since I played though, and a few things are making me scratch my head. I've had a brief look around here, but with work time fast approaching and this site being sadly blocked there. I was thinking perhaps I might get a more direct response from the community on some queries before I try to log back in tonight.

    1. If someone sends me a tell is there a quick key response to reply, or do I need to type.. /t insert Superhero name everytime.

    2. Is there a bank of some kind? And if not, can we store things in the trade tab without putting them up for sale, or do they get lost if left there? Okay with the ten slots most of my alts have thats not really a fix, but at higher lvl if I have more it might be a useful stop gap.

    3. Do folks tend to slam all their alts into one Supergroup, or is it more based on each hero? This might be subjective to every player, just wondering in general, more than looking for a definate answer.

    4. Is there a set lvl for Movement powers, capes etc?

    5. Is there a mail system? If not, how can you transfer items from one of your alts to another. For example a costume piece dropped for my main, which is perfect to one of my secondary alts, is there any simple way of getting it to her?

    6. Regarding Going Rogue, which I am considering getting, do you get to select the alignment from the moment you download it, or do certain things need to be done. For example I have a Villian and a Hero, who probably should be middle ground style characters, if I get going Rogue, is that something they can effectively start as/switch to immediately, or is it mission based?

I think thats all so far, any help, pointers would be greatly appreciated.
1.- There is a quick reply key ... the Backspace key should setup a tell to the last person who sent you one.

    2. If you mean storing Invention salvage, their are Vaults that will let you store items on the City Maps and in Pocket D there are both Hero and Villain Vaults... there is also a Vault and general Storage Racks for inside a SG Base. If you mean storing Enhancements, there's the 10 slots per character, there are storage tables for holding them in the SG Base. You can also send/store items in global Email. You can send items and INF to your own global name that starts with a @ ... like @superbob (not my real global where it can remain for 30 or 60 days max.

    3. Every player and/or character is different. In my case I often make a Supergroup with me and my wife's character in it...and maybe one or two personal friends on one server. But other servers are different. On Justice my characters are pretty much all part of the Iron Eagles II SG ... a hardcore group that retires characters who die from the SG if they die.

    4. Movement powers come from the power pools you need to take one of the first 2 powers in the group (opens from level 6) before getting the main movement power ( opens at 14th) There is a veteran reward that lets you take the movement power without prereq at level 6. Capes are available at level 20 ... need to run a mission arc from City Rep in Atlas City Hall for heroes, Kalinda or Burke villainside... Auras open at 30 from another mission arc from them. If you've purchased any paid Booster Packs... like the Magic Pack ... those capes are available at the start.

    5. Yep, there is an Email system. You can send items like enhancements, inspirations, recipes, INF, salvage to anyone's global name, including your own. Your global name starts with @. I find it handy to always mail myself an awake and a breakfree ... for those times it all goes wrong... you can even collect them when dead

    6. The Going Rogue system. Your character will start getting notification of TIPs found at level 20. They are special missions that can be found in a Tab on your Contacts area. These missions come in flavors. If you are a Hero they will come with a Hero choice, if you wish to affirm your Hero side, or a Vigilante, if you wish to slide to a darker shade of Hero. After running 10 of a type a special alignment mission Tip will drop from a defeat that lets you run a mission to either complete the change or affirm your existing status.

If you start in Praetoria you can play any type of character... at around level 20 you can travel to Primal earth choosing whichever side your prefer to become (Paragon/Rogue Isle) at that point

(edited in: I type too slow.there were no responses when I started )
  17. I take a picture of my trays with my smart phone, so I can put things back where I expect them on a respec.
I used to take sceenshots in game of the trays and post them into my graphics program, and flip back and forth between windows, but I find the phone cam is better.
  18. Ya'll could do an in-game proposal reenactment over in Faultline

    Congratz!!!

It would really be nice if some of these things (WST, attack windows/servers to Praetoria etc) were listed in the ingame "/gmotd" screen or maybe added to those useless kiosks that used to display kill statistics etc

    Bulldozers

The iDozer has begun its market saturation....
  21. I'd still like a badge ...

"Beekeeper" ... like the Zookeeper badge... only for killing off Devouring Earth Swarms
  22. If someone already has Mystic Fortune applied to them it will tell you this if you try to apply to them.
  23. Used to love the weather report in the comic...

    Dark Astoria....... Foggy ... 72
  24. Some of the Resistance pieces from the Going Rogue: Item pack have the glowing effect.

Gloves, shoulders, pants (nice glowing stripe down the side of leg) that I remember off hand.
