Actually, had he been on the team, the mission would have been a smashing success with only one casualty (namely, himself). Everyone knows that Hostess Fruit Pies are irresistable and can quell the most violent tendencies of even the most horrible villains (except for the Joker. He admitted that he does not like Fruit Pies... He really is crazy.)

(There are also similar tunnels in Bricks, thankfully, they are much less used.)
One of those hatches will be used right after clearing the third ruin.

As for the tunnels in Bricks, I get those way to frequently on radio missions there.

Actually, the Kheldians and VEATS don't show at all (grayed out or otherwise) until they are unlocked. They only time they are ever grayed out is when you encounter that little bug that requires you to log in an appropriate level 50 villain or hero in order to reset the flag that says "yes! I have unlocked these. Now let me make one, FFS!"

I wish they had added some sort of pop-up if you try to select DP that tells the user that GR is required to access the power set. Would have averted a lot of questions, and also been a small "you know you want it, just buy it" tidbit as well.
That is actually an excellent idea. Upon mouseover...

"Use of this set requires the Going Rogue Expansion, which you can prepurchase now, or wait until the boxed set is released for even greater bang for the buck."
  4. So calculations were correct. The only benefit of prepurchasing is to get early access to the new sets. Otherwise, overall the upcoming boxed set will cost significantly less, if you want all the stuff (including the $15 worth of game time). And that is still without knowing what the price will be on the items pack itself.

What would really be cool as far as health benefits go would be if someone somehow managed to get the Wii remote and Nunchuk modified to work with this game.

    Capes?

And lather rinse repeat for the aura mission at 30 or higher.
  7. I personally am convinced about not pre-purchasing GR.

Waiting for its actual release will be the better value hands down. And from what I have seen of Dual Pistols, while it looks neat, the long animation times, and the apparent fact that it is going to be the weakest of the Blaster sets make it simply not worth giving up the benefits of not pre-ordering just in order to have early access to the set.
  8. Not going to bother calculating it. But I suspect that in my little under 3 years, I have spent less than what I spend in a single year on my weekly or semi weekly grocery runs (and I did buy Mac and AE editions, as well as the Science, Ninja, and Wedding Packs).

It just isn't that important to dwell on how much has been spent. Otherwise we would all be super depressed over how much money we have put out on anything we like to do for entertainment.

If you are getting your money's worth of fun out of your expenditures, then consider it all worth it.
  9. Most of mine grab their travel powers at 14. Relying on temp powers is just waaaaaayyyyyyy toooooooooooo slooooooowwwwww, and the various teleporters just don't recharge fast enough. Plus, the characters with any of the wings definitely have to be able to fly (or super jump in the case of one of my bat winged characters) without using Raptor Packs.

I do have a few that are not getting a travel power (my Spiders), and I also have a Mastermind, an AR corruptor, and an AR Blaster who aren't getting a travel power until 49. The only reason for that though is because there is nothing else by that time that they really need, and Super Jump only requires its initial slot, freeing up the 3 level 50 slots for something else.

The Mac Edition comes with the Valkyrie costume set and a power that will let you teleport to your mission. The Mac Edition can be applied to a PC-using account.

The Good Versus Evil Edition is the oldest, and may therefore be found on the cheap.
You forgot to mention what GvE comes with: Jump Jet Temporary Power, Pocket D Teleporter, and the Justice and Sinister costume sets.

There is also no reason why you can't do both. Put one in Taunt, and put one in your attacks.

That works. However, even after buying Architect Edition, it is still wiser to also purchase the full Good vs. Evil edition instead of just buying the GvE items pack. The pack by itself runs $10. The GvE box, at the absolute most would be $20 (possibly even less). And it comes with that $10 worth of items and another $15 worth of game time.

Likewise, the Mac edition (which does not actually require a Mac) also comes with game time, and the Valkyrie items pack (which sold separately would be another $10). All three codes can be applied to your account (just no duplicates).
  13. Also, AE is one where the total cost is a negative value...

    AE Box: $20
1 Month: -$15 (you would be paying that anyway)
Super Booster: -10 (impossible to resist. Muahahahaha)

    Effective total cost: -$5.00
  14. You will need to purchase the game. The good news is that since the various boxed sets include a month of game time, and some other in game items that can otherwise be purchased separately, the cost of the game is pretty low, and sometimes even a negative amount.

All of WP's toggles are pretty light on the endurance usage. At the most, you would only need a single endurance reducer in each one (or only in a couple if you have both Quick Recovery and Stamina 2 slotted). And in some toggles, you may not need any endurance reducers.

The only real big problem with Willpower is that like with SR, there are very few powers you can skip, thus leaving little room for other more fun things.
  16. Best place to put the PZ proc is in Taunt itself, since Taunt requires no accuracy slotting. The default slot can hold the proc.

Oh, and even though you did not ask about this, I will preemptively advise avoiding Triumphant Insult: Chance to Disorient. Reason for this is because it is really Chance to Do Nothing (like a 100% chance of that to be exact).
  17. Irrespective of whether or not these level you fast, some of the best (read funnest) missions in that level range are Technician Naylor, and the first arc in the Rikti War Zone. The creepy stuff going on in St. Martial is rather enjoyable as well.

Before potentially flushing away a fiver, I would highly recommend contacting the seller and trying to get some sort of verification that the product is actually new, and is still factory sealed. If it has been opened, then there is a good chance that the key has been used.

99 cents sounds like one of those way to good to be true scenarios.

It goes way beyond the Angel and Demon Wings you get at 15 months:

18 Months: Samurai Armor (one of my favorite sets)
    21 Months: Shoulder Capes
    27 Months: Tech Sleek set
30 Months: Signature group logos for chest pieces (Freedom Phalanx, Vindicators, Vanguard, Arachnos, PPD, Cage Consortium, CoT, Council)
    39 Months: Boxing Set
51 Months: Crab Spider, Blood Widow, Mu Mystic, Wolf Spider Helmets
  23. Remember, for someone brand new to the game, changing powers and slotting can be a bit tricky, due to not having any freespecs or vetspecs available yet, not having the insane amount of inf to buy a respec recipe, and not being high enough level to run one of the respec trials.

At least there is the secondary build which can be used as an "emergency respec".

So since we all already got accounts basically, we gotta buy the $40 one (as of now) to get all the special in-game stuff? Kinda like you had to buy the Mac edition for the Valkyrie stuff until they released the lil booster for the PCs?
If you think about it, you will realize that this is truly a non-complaint.

It sounds like just as with all the other recent boxed releases (Mac/AE), buying the full thing will be a much better value than getting the preorder and then upgrading to the full set. Paying less for more is hardly something to gripe about. All it is costing is the ability to play the new sets early.
