Side question:
If Avengers does really well (not just average, but pulls in the big bucks), will that signal whoever is in control of making a Justice League movie that a great team-up movie can be made, or does it matter how well Marvel does with this movie?
I like Capt A, Iron Man, et al, but I'd rather see JL if I had to choose a team. -

I was playing earlier this morning, when I noticed that all of the music and sound effects in the game sound off. The notes in the music sound slightly lower, the tempo slightly slower, and the whole thing just sounds tired. The sound effects don't sound crisp...kind of garbled.
I logged out completely, and went and played some YouTube videos to see if it was my card. Those sounded fine. I logged back in, and the problem persisted. The sounds that are the most offending and obvious to me are the mission complete (Hero version), level up, and things like Build Up and Aim. The log in music was also very obvious.
Is anyone else noticing this? As far as I know, this has just started happening. I've also crashed while zoning a couple of times over the weekend, and that hasn't happened in a long time. Could this distorted music be due to general server lag? -
Who cares what flippers are doing or not doing? They can only do what they do because people are willing to pay more for things than they should, not because people list things high.
I don't think making inf is the real reason to buy commons cheap to sell out of the market. There's better, easier ways to make it.
An interesting exercise, but the amount for sale on the market will replenish, like it always does. The stuff drops too fast to make it otherwise. -
The Freedom site says Premium players get "2 total slots, plus any unlocked via veteran reward or purchase." That means if the only server that he put his vet slots or purchased slots was Virtue, for example, those would be the only extra slots he gets beyond the 2. The two, he can pick wherever he wants, so at most he'd get two on the one server, and however many extra slots he unlocked everywhere else, but not the original 12.
Short answer: It depends on where he put his extra slots. -

But as Community Manager perhaps you could suggest to whom ever is in charge of arranging these deals with third party sites, that they not arrange them with sites that exclude parts of your community, particularly when said parts are feeling more than a little bit second class at the moment.
Not having contests at all (at least ones without cool prizes) is a worse hit on PR and advertising than having contests that are restrictive. Paragon and NCSoft want the City Of brand to be seen however it can. Agreeing to be a part of a restrictive contest run by a third party is a necessary evil.
They could skip the third parties entirely, and try to sponsor their own contests, but even NCSoft has their own rules and regs about who is eligible. It wouldn't improve the situation. -

Did a Sutter with a PUG the first time. Didn't have a problem. Not sure where yours comes from on it. Your ability or lack thereof in accomplishing tasks doesn't mean the thing is broken. -

You really think they should make an effort to keep a temporary, "We can take it down at any time" server when they're having enough problems keeping the live servers running right now?
All these things were in Beta, where everyone had access at one point or another. If they didn't take advantage of that opportunity, they could at least read all the forum threads written by the people that did. They aren't going into a potential purchase totally blind unless they choose to. -

The concept is common courtesy, which seems even more uncommon than common sense.
There are bases on test that people went to great trouble to build, with the new issue there are an enormous number of respecs that need to be done. Its really not to much to expect, that they could take five minutes to post a note to the forums giving the details of a planned change.
It really doesn't get much simpler than if you are going to inconvenience people you can at least let them know about it.
Building a sand castle on the beach accomplishes the same results. It looks nice until the tide comes in, which everyone knows is gonna happen ahead of time. Don't get mad at the ocean for wiping away your masterpiece. -

I'm confused as to why one would think paying 100 bucks right now vs spreading that 100 bucks over a monthly sub for period of time, and netting the same rewards either way, is unfair to either person. In the end, you have the same stuff. It's not like the person who's paid their sub for X amount of months had a choice about it until Freedom arrived.
This isn't an arms race where the first one to nuke the other wins. You're not competing with anyone else but yourself. Pay your money how you're comfortable paying, and reap the rewards as they're given. How is this hard? -

As others have said, I think it's absurd to redesign a group with an eye to giving the pieces to players -- and then not give them the best, and most desired, pieces. If NPCs are going to have pieces we can't, I'd just assume see the COT back in their full robes. I'm even more miffed by the COT redesign than I was before, because we didn't even get much out of it aside from another overly busy costume minus all of the "exotic" pieces that would have made it exciting.
The more exotic something is, the less use you can get out of it, and therefore a tougher decision for the art team to spend more time on (or not) giving to us.
I'd rather they give us a set that's in the same general family as the look the NPCs have, and make parts that are more interchangable with parts that aren't a part of the set, than spend an inordinate amount of time giving us a special hat so 5% of the players can use it on one costume. -

In another MMO their devs tried an auto-silence feature where if enough petitions were filed the offending account lost all ability to communicate for 24 hours or until a GM reviewed it.
Sadly they had to pull the feature because the jerks immediately started using it to grief innocent players because they thought it was funny getting people silenced. -
I estimate that if a game is fun, people will willingly give money to the company that makes it, whether it's subscription-based, or F2P, or something in between. People like supporting things that make them happy.
If you don't like it, you'll find a way to not pay money for it.
