Premium Question
Those aren't tied to anything but being the correct level and getting a badge in the case of the Patrons.
Short answer, yes.
Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.
Hard to get?
In some cases depending on what you're playing you may still end up needing help for a few of the Elite Bosses.
Blazara Aura LVL 50 Fire/Psi Dom (with 125% recharge)
Flameboxer Aura LVL 50 SS/Fire Brute
Ice 'Em Aura LVL 50 Ice Tank
Darq Widow Fortune LVL 50 Fortunata (200% rech/Night Widow 192.5% rech)--thanks issue 19!
A preem is going to have a hard time getting patron pools if they start out as a hero. The only way for a hero to get patron arcs is to own the GR alignment system. If a preem doesn't have that then their heroes are locked out of patron pools.
All my toons are villains, so no alignment switching needed.
Never done any high end content, is there anything I can read on it?
If you're looking to get it done as fast as possible go with Black Scorpion, he has the less running around and less annoying enemies. You don't have to run the whole arc, you'll unlock the pools after 5 or 6 missions and you'll get a respec as well.
Once you unlock one patron you unlock all of them.
Was reading a shield guide from i13 that mentioned doing Sirocco to unlock a shield costume piece. Is that still relevant?
I have no clue if Sirocco unlocks a shield. I would be interested to know if this is true.

Sirocco isn't the only way to unlock it for villains. It's also unlocked by the Visionary badge (100 Overseers; hard to get for a villain), Tech Naylor's arc "Last Stand at Mole Point Bravo" (lvl 35-40) or Plither's "Alone in the Darque" (lvl 45-50)
"Mastermind Pets operate...differently, and aren't as easily fixed. Especially the Bruiser. I want to take him out behind the woodshed and pull an "old yeller" on him at times." - Castle
Can I customize it with an emblem?
No, the only thing you can do is change the eye color. It is animate and looks around though.

Ugh, guess will stick with current shield. Can Roman shields be modified?

I was looking at that, didn't say anything about customization for unlockable shields. Does that mean I can't customize them at all?
Those are *ALL* of the Shield customization options. That's it. If it doesn't say something can be changed, it can't be changed (i.e. the standard and reinforced shields can have an emblem).

I would have liked the diamond shaped Roman shield being customized to match my current shield.

You've just made me very happy! I've fallen in love with my new WM/Shield scrapper and earlier today I was remarking to a friend how cool it would be if I could have the ascendants shields.
Having never seen them in game except when running the Maestro AV, I didn't even think you could unlock them! This is wonderful news.
