Sands (because it's good to have a melee early w/ a ranged toon), wand/nem (depending on toon's template), axe...maybe (depends on template, but until I unlock the 4th related badge/token then not likely)

Quote:THISNever have problems with names, then again I never look for the single names as they are the hardest to find, never add x,s or numbers to my names either.I like to pick names the go with my character, either as a description of power,s or the look as with my first character hence my global name
I almost Never have the name first. Most the time I have a theme that ties to the eventual costume or a powerset. Then I build from there and see what pops into my head. -
Quote:Same here, but then there was this one name I Really wanted that I had on VIPBeta...alas, I too am still intruiged as to why others have such an issue Every time.Interestingly enough, 6 years+ and still no name issues... But then, I don't make characters every single day... But when I do... I get the name I want to use, usually within 3 guesses.
Maybe you need to be twisted in teh brainz like me to do it... Naw that can't be it... -
Did you happen to wait for the game to fully dowload? When first installing it goes in stages and if you happen to be faster than your bandwidth then you'll be sitting a bit.
Other than that, you'll want the launcher to be set kinda like this:
Under settings
-General: nothing checked and launcher set to exit after launching game
-Auto Update: this can be left on auto, but you don't need the Notifications
-Advanced: If you ever get a 2nd(3rd, 4th...) account, then having the multiple instances option checked now will save a step for later
Under the game properties, the following will help some:
-In the extra parameters put this sans the quotes "-maxinactivefps 5" as it will save some stress on the system if you need to toggle to say the browser while gaming -
Is that an All-In-One? I think I still have my 7500 in my "for sale" pile. :-p
-
yeah it would definitely have to fall under the < L10 IF they decided to do it.
-
follow the guide above and you'll be fine. adding
-maxinactivefps 5
to the settings doesn't hurt either. -
I'm running 7x64 on a laptop with 4Gb physical, 6Gb virtual (on the faster data drive, I have 2HDDs!), and can safely run 2 instances if I Have to by dialing down the GFX settings. I think the biggest holdup on mine is the 256Mb(supposedly scales upto 2Gb using my normal RAM) GPU. I have ultra slimmed down and get like 30+FPS normally, but can go all the way upto like 60FPS if I drop to basic GFX settings. Idle, 7 tends to sit at like 1.5Gb and the game tends to hit 1-2Gb depending on whether I'm solo or on a TF. Oh yeah, I also have a 4Gb flash card set for Speedboost, but I don't know if that's even doing anything honestly.
Either way I'd wait out the download until it's done, but install the game to somewhere Other than the default. I have second partition just for my apps. I've heard that software/games installed to default locations can have UAC related issues. There's one other issue for this game if you did too, but I don't have the link off hand. -
my second account lapsed and ALL of the paid ATs are locked. That account is only about 10mo total paid time though and the toons were made semi recently (when freedom released).

Quote:I'd have to disagree on that as before I 'retired' the last time (just after i13 released) I would login to something like "You have X Respecs and Y Freespecs". I do have something scratching at the back of my mind though about a change semi-recently which basically nulled you down to 1 max now that I think about it. Then again, what i'm calling Freespecs is basically something other than the earned ones you used to max out with (3?), but it's been so long so eh.You can't accumulate Freespecs. You can have one at most. You can accumulate Vet Respecs, Patron Respecs, Trial Respecs, Soldiers of Arachnos Respec, and Purchased Respecs.
Wiki page on respecs. -
I'm not sure what your specs are, but using the mentioned "-maxinactivefps 5" under the launcher settings seems to help when using the Win+Tab/Alt+Tab function in full screen mode. You may need to lower your graphics a little ingame though if you notice the game gets laggy or (like my old machine) ends up turning everything but the UI black after toggling. A good 'test' would be to set the launcher to Safe mode and see how it handles two instances. If it handles that fine, then slowly slide up your gfx from lowest until it's as unstable as you care to deal with.
BTW: that FakeAV's a P.I.T.A. isn't it >.< -
Since you've already gone that far, then redownloading is your only option really. You Could have backed up the original install and done a few other things, but since you didn't then you get to enjoy the trickle depending speed of your ISP. If you haven't already though, I'd recomend installing it to a custom directory not the default Especially if you're using Vista/7. I have a 2nd partition for my non-OS software and put it there.

Quote:THIS, they should limit this new change to non-functional/interactive pets or change the functional/interactive pets to be included in the same rank as our normal summon/incarnate pets. Considering they can be targeted/destroyed!These are good arguments about it. I didn't think about the issue of being mezzed dropping the toggle, or kheldians, which could be an issue for the buff pets. Granted the buff pets don't do much, but they do do something. Maybe they need to separate out the buff pets from the vanity pets. Make the buffs summons like they were before, and keep the vanity pets limited to one.

There's really no reason for them to add tiers. As much as I don't like being 4 tokens short of Tier 9, I do understand and agree with how they've made the tree.

I know I haven't used all my accumulated Freespecs, but I noticed that it doesn't mention a separate line for them anymore. Any ideas? Have they combined the numbers to safe space?
But yes, relogging into the toon will show you the numbers. ;-) -
I'm sure someone will come in and correct, but you could always toy with an alternate build (since you can't xfer to Test) and see what happens to your numbers. You Might be safe going to 2slot, but I've always triple slotted because I'm not as into numbers as most seem to be so I wouldn't honestly notice the difference.

Quote:Was about to come in here and point this out...^This issue seems to have been addressed without much mention or hoopla...
If you unlock the vet items, those items will now appear for you in the base editor at the end of the Room Details tab, allowing you to drop as many as you want, just like any other editor item, as long as you have the prest for it.
Problem solved.
Thanx devs!

When I get around to it, there is going to be a Pool, Dorm, Lounge, Meeting Room, Hangar Bay, etc...We have the prestige and space, but I've been kinda slacking on it.

Would someone please enlighten the ignorant on what "Low Hanging Fruit" is? It sounds like it might be refering to the low man on the totem pole of things to be worked on ingame.

I just had to say this makes me think of:
"I can do it myself!" -
Quote:That sounds more like CoX vs MK ;-)Would that also be the reason some of us are seeing very odd ragdolling of enemies? Things like heads and torsos twisting 180 when defeated and constant spasming and writhing until they fade out. Don't get me wrong, it is sort of funny, but it makes enemies look like they're made out of half inflated garbage bags about to blow away on a breeze.

Not that the configuration/settings should necessarily be affected, but I would try to reinstall it to a custom directory like "D:\NCSoft". Have you Ever gotten the launcher to run? Is your user account listed as an Admin (IE: you're the only user on the computer, so admin by default)?
