Running out of names???

Nope.
They specifically said back prior to Freedom's launch that they will NOT be doing a name purge, because they want to make sure that anyone who does come back can immediately jump back in on their existing characters.
Main Hero: Chad Gulzow-Man (Victory) 50, 1396 Badges

What Chad said and also I'm not sure you realize how many toons would fall into 1 year /49 and under. That's MASSIVE. The last name purge I remember was lvl 5 or 10 and under and it freed up tons of names.
i suggest accounts that have been inactive for 2 year, and those toons that are level 25 and under.
Sounds fair to me.

yeah it would definitely have to fall under the < L10 IF they decided to do it.
Interestingly enough, 6 years+ and still no name issues... But then, I don't make characters every single day... But when I do... I get the name I want to use, usually within 3 guesses.
Maybe you need to be twisted in teh brainz like me to do it... Naw that can't be it...

Ignoring anyone is a mistake. You might miss something viral to your cause.
Never have problems with names,then again I never look for the single names as they are the hardest to find,never add x,s or numbers to my names either.I like to pick names the go with my character,either as a description of power,s or the look as with my first character hence my global name

I almost Never have the name first. Most the time I have a theme that ties to the eventual costume or a powerset. Then I build from there and see what pops into my head.

While it is possible to actually run out of names given a finite number of characters (as in letters, numbers and symbols), I don't see it happening.

You can't do a name purge in a F2P game.
