  1. simple plant/storm

creepers tornado roots thunderstorm freezing rain take nothign else but those and proc them out and U WILL still kill faster than a fire/ or /fire
  2. Maybe its me not having played all 7 years but just a few months here and there yet still adding up to 3 years time, However I just cant believe the devs are the ones wholly responsible for (as someone stated above) curbing RMTs from this game.

I came back on GR release after playing a few months here and there since launch. Let me just say that the IO system complete scared me and left me feeling so incapable of amassing the necessary means to achieve the outcome I so desired for my character. But after some google search fu-ing in a matter of weeks i was able to amass more than enough inf to trick out my character. And that just made me thirst for more.

Honestly its redic easy to make inf in this game. Farmers are not competing with each other for drops, Unlike other games where farmers are competing with othe farmers and BOTs for resources.

Like i said I came back after issue 18 but of the few influence spams ive seen its what 1 bil for 6-7 dollars? 6-7 dollars in other games is not considered half of the total they can ever earn. I really do believe its just not worth it when everyone and their mother has the ability to make SELF PL and SELF "trick" out (on just measly SOs) a SS/FIRE/MU brute!!!
  3. rmt rmt.

city of heroes is nothing in the grand scheme of making RL $$ from fake interweb cash. do the hardcore players and devs think that highly of their game compared to whats out there?

RL $$ for inf or gold or silver or w/e game currency is here to stay, deal with it. this game is unique in that characters can actually feel complete after a certain amount of influence spent.

coh has such a small stake in the MMO pie that i have to say most people are just over dramatizing what menace gold sellers/spammers would be to this game. frankly i wouldnt be surprised if the gold sellers themselves dont advertise in this game much simply for the lack of demand. i mean thats just how small COH feels like for me. I remember back when i first started playing MMOs and it was most def something i never told friends about, it was like saying i played those magic card game or w/e, embarrassing. then after playing wow i realized that not only did my friends play but so did coworkers, etc. coh does not have that effect, trust me.
  4. i didnt read the whole thread so i dont know if someone has or will mention the whole blah blah spend 5 bucks on the market and boom you get access. BS to that! I really REALLY want new players try this game and WANT TO SPEND money in it not because they HAVE to.
  5. isnt the whole point of F2P to increase your earnings from the game. how in the "wisdom" of these developers do they think that free players will actually pay money to play this game when oh i dont know this whole MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER GAME is but c r a p p y single player experience for them. Since issue 21 I have seen multiple versions of atlas park, kings row, and steel canyon, but guess what its still the same old feel even though there is this influx of new players. so dumb. but w/e i hope this bites them so hard in the ***. then maybe these "developers" will listen to players concerns and actually meet them halfway on them.

ive played so many other f2p games and i have never ever had such a stupid restriction placed on me from trying those games.

  6. that would be over the top unbalanced. 60s recharge is nothing in the game of high recharge builds out there esp now that we have /time. genins with smoke flash already out perform the jounins and oni in damage, now you want all 3 of them to get criticals at the same time?

ps here you go for QoL

    /macro Hide "pet_select_name Jounin$$powexec_name Smoke Flash$$pet_select_name Oni$$powexec_name Smoke Flash"

casts smoke flash on oni; if no oni then casts it on jounins
  7. I admit I am not an apple fan, my views towards the "products" can only be described as being a hater but it still saddens me to find out that Steve Jobs died. His passion to innovate and create the next big thing that people actually use and most importantly companies copy and make their own was unequaled. You may not like the ipod iphone ipad i(w/e) but these products made it so that I am able to enjoy my android tablet. Just crazy all his money and fame couldnt do more for him to live longer, such is life in the end rich or poor we are all the same.

    Mercs That Bad?

Gavin im so sorry for the pain that mercs gave u but im glad you made this post. everyone has heard stories about mercs but not everyone has gone up and leveled one. Your descriptive tale really puts into light just how painful of a GAMING experience it would be to play such a primary especially if you had already played with the previous MM primaries. I thank you for helping me once again steer clear of mercs. Im fairly positive the devs would more than likely release a whole new pet set than update and fix mercs first.
  9. unless you can fit in basilisk gaze, gladiators net, or unbreakable constraint into your holds then you dont need them if your already flooring a boss's to hit. and if you dont lolpvp then you absolutely dont need a travel power. sprint+ ninja run is more than fine for missions and general pve conent. and raptor packs are a mere 10k inf.
  10. Yeah I only attempted that after I got tier 4 musculature and tier 4 radial. Honestly my demons/pain was def on the back burner b/c the set hadnt clicked with me yet. One day I just decided to go ahead and run trials back to back until I had atleast tier 3 everything and thats when I finally saw just how good the demons are by themselves. Here is a link to my build. 1 purple set(not too expensive can always get stupefy), and I just used my astrals and hero merits for all the lotgs and numina/miracle proc.

  11. On the point of AV/EBs and pets distance, I regularly solo the "Elite Boss" Warwalker in the lambda trial on both my thugs/dark and bots/trap incarnate MMs. Im super lazy and after I lead in with a gangwar(thugs) or seeker drones(bots) Im right there underneath the EB along with my pets. I hardly ever lose pets, and even though AVs resist -tohit, I can really hamper their damage with all the twilight grasps and seeker drones that I am actively clicking once off recharge.

Basically the reason I post this is because after having purple IOed and t4 incarnated a /time MM I am less than impressed with that MM. Maybe it has to do with the fact that my primary is necro but I just dont like how busy /time is. I prefer debilitating debuffs over a hodge podge set that combines soso buffs and soso debuffs. Time is great for spawn clearing i think but for hard targets you really cant beat /traps and /dark. They are the 2 kings of MM secondaries and unless /cold is ported over, nothing will rival what those 2 can do.
  12. When demons first came out I was torn between thermal and pain dom. This was back when thermal buffs were still single target casts. This + forging every pet as soon as it was recharged felt like it was Force Field ALL OVER AGAIN. so i decided to really number crunch pain dom to see HOW inferior it was to thermal. Honestly deacon nailed it, Its resistance is A MINISCULE diff to thermal a whooping 5-6% ED capped but atleast pain also offers a psi resist.

Next reason I choose pain was the fact I wanted to use my whip attacks more often and since world of pain was back then a set it and forget it buff, pain dom won again.

Finally I HATED how the damn demon prince needed END redux IOs and so i just go lazy and perma painbringer him so that I can maximize the slow, dmg, acc, and procs on him instead of end redux.

Oh and here is my demons/pain vs AVs. No -regen at all

I was driving today and I just though of elec/poison, I was going to make a post about it but found this here so Id thought Id share what my new controller will be. I WAS SO happy to see how well the sets work together in mids. I JUST cannot wait to bring this to the trials and start getting t4 incarnate powers

Elec/poison SO MUCH SOFT CONTROL its like having full shutdown on mobs. biggest would be the -end/-recov for the ultimate SAPPER! this new poison trap is just sick OP with electric static field and conductive aura.
  15. I have every MM primary now(except for lolmercs) all accompanied by different secondaries but IF I had to choose just one of them it would be my first and "main" MM which is my Thugs/dark.

That was the first time i felt the true power of the MM class, the ability to support my own mini team that also happens to be amazing spawn clearers. And when I was able to clear the whole maria jenkins arc chock full of AVs for the first time on any of my previous characters, well thats when I decided that the MM class was for me and that any and all future projects has to be a pet class lol.

    Catalyst 11.9

Final update: I just completed a Underground Trial and it was sooooo nice to be able to "participate" in it. No crashing no fps drops no stutters, and we all know how long that trial is and how much activity is going on with all the players, mobs, pets, and powers being thrown around.

So go ahead and update your drivers fellow ATI users, spread the word to the freebies so they can enjoy this game.
  17. Vinceq1980

    Catalyst 11.9

    BUMP and UPDATE:

Its been a solid 2 hours of incarnate trials amongst multiple characters. No crash No fps drops and no graphics glitches. Id recommend installing these drivers ASAP if you had problems in the past with COH and ATI graphics card.
  18. Vinceq1980

    Catalyst 11.9

Before the issue that broke the ati drivers i had a difficult time playing this game. constant crashes every 1 hr, graphics get deformed, fps drops, all until it finally crashes. I could AT MOST run 2 incarnate trials but the second one usually started reporting alot of the symptoms shown above. It was painful doing this.

Now after 11.9 I have so far(since fresh installing the driver 1 hr ago) been playing back in ULTRA MODE with no crashes fps drops or graphics deformation. Ive done back to back to back incarnate trials where usually b/c of the amount of people and powers being thrown around I will crash, but so far its been a smooth and stable ride.

Try it out, but i do believe that ati has fixed this issue with COH.
  19. game was not balanced around IOs, incarnates, blah blah blah.

stop being lazy and learn to plug in whatever deficiencies your powerset has with the tools that are available in the game.

Mezz? get clarion. dont want clarion? buy break frees. dont want to keep going to the vendor for BFs? make a macro to constantly combine the insp that DO drop from all the x8 spawns you are clearing b/c you are a mastermind.

etc etc etc. stop being lazy learn the game and learn to make your favorite toon a +4x8 malta/longbow/devouring earth destroyer. Teaming in fun but roflstomping b/c you built a powerhouse character is even more fun.

and yes /time is ezmode. you dont need provoke when you can softcap yourself and your pets as well as debuff your enemies to hit/damage/defense/resistance/recharge/regen in a matter of seconds.
  20. Since you guys obviously havent realized or probably dont care this post is to inform you that your latest issue broke the lvl shift that was supposed to be granted in incarnate trials through the mastermind inherent supremacy.

Dont expect a fix soon but I figure maybe in a few issues down the road when you have less on your plate you can possibly fix this bug. thx
  21. Wow so YES it has been a while since I portal jockeyed a toon of mine but just last week i decided to take out my newly minted /time MM who by the way just snooze fests steamrolls at x8 diff without batting an eye.

Was I shocked by the constant defeats I got handed to me b/c of these stupid *** mobs. At first I thought ok I was being too cocky and if u just control pets and actually use powers the steamrolling will ensue. NOPE I cant even see the god damn mobs they just blink in and out and whittle me down.

I then took another character and the same thing happened. I thought I had a bugged game since I cleary(having gotten portal jockey on several characters already) remember these missions to be cake.

Again its this whole ignorance to back checking is what really infuriates me with this game. I love this game alot and I do like how inventive the devs are but MAN the levels of ADD they have when focusing on new content then completely ignoring old promises just plain SUCKS. Sorry I know I am ranting but it just boils my blood how they release such a WELL BALANCED fun and active set like time manipulation and DO NOTHING for the one dimensional OUTDATED might as well DELETE this damn powerset called FORCE FIELD!!! whats gonna happen in 1 or 2 years down the line when more powersets are created that will just hand pick the best of other powersets, tone them down a TAD and then release such a set out there to basically mock what the previous powersets cannot do b/c they are focused on one or two things only.

  24. Hamidon and MMs just dont go that well together. Def has no purpose there so pets are exposed to what they truly are low hp one shotable (sp?) targets. I find it best to just use my secondary to assist in taking down mitos or healing up a tank.
