Dark Astoria should be in a constant state of Zombie apocalypse mode... or atleast something similar.
Like other's have said: limitless potential here. I don't want a generic zombie area, we could have all sorts of things: Scientific Zombies from the Council Vs. Banished Pantheon or CoT Zombies. -
Quote:Darth Vader quote made my day. I love you.Sounds good to me. The Fifth have and always will be cooler than the Council (as cool as evil can be. It's like Darth Vader, only with 100% less 'Nooooooo!' and more penchant for outrageous Pythonesue German accents
)
Also, seeing more NPC Nictus in-game rather than the copy-paste Nova/Dwarf/Galaxy/Void combo that comes up would be awesome.
Yes, council need to be less generic. They look cool, fo' sho' and have that cheesy G.I.Joe feel to them, that makes them cool already. More giant robots needed I think. -
Quote:You can say it's better than earthquake all you want but it is -still- Earthquake, better or not. It has a massive rehcrage that makes people ask themselves 'blow my 5 minute cooldown power now? or later?' Dominators had the same problem with domination wwaayy back in the day. They had to juggle when to use it. It wasn't fun for anybody. Liquefy is in the same boat. It's Earthquake, better or not: it doesn't fit in sonic resonance at all. While I do not think the recharge time on Liquefy needs to be 5 minutes, it does a lot more than Earthquake and it does it very well..
EDIT: It seems it does less than Earthquake according to Tex above me. the -def and -tohit are nice but it doesn't do the yummy knockdown as often, which is the beauty of such powers. All the while having a higher recharge.
Quote:If you had to put both effects on the same target you might have a point. Also, an ally who knows how to use it can knock things back into patches or back at the character with Disruption. Yes, Sonic Repulsion is probably difficult to use with a PuG, because most people have trouble typing simple instructions..
Quote:Clarity provides so much more than Dispersion and grants the receiver huge freedom of movement and the Sonic user piece of mind that his team has protection even away from the dome..
Comapring it to Empathy's Clear Mind: It's the same but each set plays drastically different. Empathy's only applying Fortitude on targets while healing, So theres more time in Empathy's (I guess what you'd call) rotation to get Clear Mind in. They also have the endurance to spare quite easily. You could also arguement a mental state of active protection while the sonic player is about passive protection.
I agree. But I'm on a crusade to change Phase powers so I must remain vigilant! Shorter duration with a shorter cooldown would make them much more beneficial. Take a boss out of a fight for 5 seconds: high mitigation. 15 second cooldown. -
Quote:Oh look! The Failtrain is coming to town. I wonder who is going to get on it this time!Without reading any of these post I will just say NO. Half the insp wld hardcap u, even on squishies a tier3 is soft capped.
Seriously, it's beneficial to read a post before posting. To be realistic, if this thread was 17 pages long; you could probably get away with reading just the OP's statement. But we're not even done with page one... -

This thread is now about Praeotorian Epic ATs.
I want to be a Seer! -
I find myself using it less and less but if you ever up your difficulty to where it takes longer to kill mobs, then it becomes extremely helpful. If you prefer to blow through spawns very fast then the time it takes to cast it generally isn't worth it.
It's fairly skippable.
Oh and put something in place of Empty Clips unless your using it as a set mule.
Also, remember that defense stacks better than resistance if defense is already present. I like doing -both- resistance and defense in steamy for this single reason: Your pets who already have defense, enjoys even more defense. This is purely personal so don't take it too seriously, but I'm just throwing it out there that Steamy Mist's defense shouldn't be forgotten. -
Shield Melee/Dark Armor
In all honesty I hate the way MA looks with a shield. It looks funny seeing someone do these fancy kicks while carrying a shield around. Thats just me though. -
Mabye they all just want to say hi and get to know their adversary? Keep your friends close, but your enemy closer...
Unless your a protector bot, in which case just say WAAAALLLL-EEEEE over and over until the audience thinks it's cute..
wait, where were we? -
I cast the awesome power of the Bump! It crits you for double the bump! You are also affected by my trap card, which increases my damage by a whole bump! now subtract that from your life points and pick a move!

Liquefy looks good because your using a subpar set. When you put silver next to copper, you think it's gold.
Notice I didn't compare it to another, yuckier substance. Why? Because Liquefy isn't bad. Infact it is quite good. But it's not 'Z0MG AWEZUMZ' like some other powers out there (Fulcrum Shift, Eclipse, Assault Bot, etc.. all subject to opinion of course) but it doesn't mesh well with otehr sonic powers. Many tier 9's compliment their set as a whole. This power doesn't even fit. It's Earthquake.. only made with sound, in a set that's job is to boost resistance and debuff the resistance of nearby allies. Other sets have odd powers in them too (why is repel in kinetics?) but those sets generally don't feel as if they have been patched together such as Sonic Resonance.
Radiation Emission is a patch work set, but it's a master of none so to speak. It debuffs extremely well all the while boosting surviveability a small margine with it's heal, rez and Hold-aura.
Sonic Resonance is half Buff and Half Debuff. Essentially playing with resistances. Well thats great! some of it's powers don't even mesh well. Including a Ally-targeted AoE Knockback, which is completely counter productive to it's ally-targeted AoE res-debuff and Liquefy. Clarity would be nice, but generally it's not worth keeping on everyone, expecially since Sonic Dispersion already provides adiquette mez protection (expecially since it's a toggle). Sonic Cage is a joke and I doubt anyone would defend it's existance, but that power also exists in Forcefield, so mabye it's a general power that these types of sets get?
Over all Sonic needs some synergy. Something it defenantly lacks. The Knockback is probably the worst offender, an ability that is counter productive to 2-3 of the other abilities and is down right trolling if you put it on a melee character. -
You can argue Villain side: I hate people and love nature. Thus, Hamidon is good and people are bad. I must stop people from progressing etc.
You can also argue a Vigilante side: People are stupid and nature is good. I must protect people as a whole from their stupidity all the while forwarding the notion that nature is king/queen and should always be in charge, not people. So, I shall do whatever it takes to eradicate human error and give nature an advantage where I can. -
Council powerlevels. Very dastardly and sinister. They are trying to catch up to Nemesis in terms of army size.
1 little lowbie isn't going to screw up your mission much. Once you start seeing every enemy Spawn as a Giant Monster though... Bring an Illusion/Rad controller. -
Mercs: G.I.Joe without knowing the other sets are good, thus losing half the battle.
GEEEEE IIIIIIII JOOOOOOE! Knowing is half the battle! -
Mace Mastery hands down. Never Ever say that 'oh I already have some defense, I don't need anymore' More Defense is more Defense. The Shield is absolutely perfect and the AoE Immob seems to be made specifically for Robots.
Go Mace Mastery and never look back. Don't get Tough and Weave, those have lower priority than your epic shield. -
Quote:Who says it isn't stupidly overpowered? My Bot/Storms is the equivalent to having a team full of 5-6 controllers who don't let anyone get hurt. Shame on you for letting my Bot/Storm be so damn powerful! shame on you!Would like to link that topic I posted just before I12 where I suggested storm summoning.
Among the responses were a bunch of posts about how stupidly overpowered it was, an accusation I was trolling, and speculation that some bot must be spamming the board with nonsense. -
Quote:I would say this is a great idea, but if your not Defense capped then in a heated situation you could be interrupted. Then, if you ARE defense capped then your probably not going to need the self heal anyway. Expecially since you have a reliable heal already.More +Rech is never a bad thing. And, the Medicine pool would make the character more versatile, bringing it's weakest aspect, the single heal, up to a respectable level.
Oh, Teleport Ally is a great power if your running TFs a lot with a team. Expecially since you have Super(ior) Invisibility -
considering there are people on both sides fo this arguement, no change should be made. Your acting as if Teams specifically don't let Energy Blast players on their team. Never once has this happened on my main who is a Kin/Energy Defender (of all combinations!). That character has been around since 2006, and not once has a team complained about my Knockback. No, I don't reposition myself. But I also don't purposefully intend to knock enemies all over the place. The biggest problem wit hthis arguement is that it is assumed Energy Blast players purposefully knock enemies in the worst possible direction -every- -single- -time-. Which never happens. If you don't like the set for the knockback then don't play it. Just like how I don't play Forcefields because I find bubbling people boring. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Energy Blast as a powerset; just with people who play it or, in this case, want to like it, but don't like it's mechanics.

So, these tier 4's are not your standard inspirations just with bigger numbers? Sounds interesting. I hope they are rare and have longer durations so I can horde them then sell them.

Quote:agreed.Peacebringers do still need to be buffed so that their endgame performance is closer to warshade performance.
But that's an archetype balance issue. Not a player whim issue.
But considering many of the PBs powers aren't very useful to the AT as a whole, I doubt we'll see much of a boost to their performance besides a slight damage buff. Many of those powers need to be either given additional effects or taken away, and right now, the devs won't do that. -
the biggest problem with sonic is that it's extremely unfriendly to soloers. The shields and -res debuffs are nice. But they literally only work in a team. Sonic Resonance needs a buff. Not for groups, but for soloers.
-
Energy Blast's knockback is good. Even on teams it is good. Any team that whines about knockback must not have gotten out of the WoW mindset of 'just stand still and autoattack'. Knockback provides massive mitigation that you would definantly miss if it was gone.
Energy blast also has great single target damage and decent AoE. It's the average set for blasters and above average for corruptors and defenders who's damage is slightly lower and thus, enjoys the mitigation it brings. -
That icebreaker is really plowing her poop deck.
(im so, so sorry) -
Egypt would be interesting.
Or, perhaps a zone where time is screwed up. Like Ouroboros wet waywire and got a few interesting areas fused. So, You'd have Egypt on one end of the zone then a prehistoric zone on the other. You'd see some interesting combinations.. We need more time travel zones
