I know I haven't been around much the last few months, or much to be posting on the forums. But Virtue has been my home since the begining. I've meet some wonderful people here both in game and in real life. A couple of you I even have as friends on Facebook. I wish all of you the best and hope to find you in other arena's

I'd like to be able to play some of the VIP exclusive content before it's all gone. But they won't take my money. and it looks like they won't let us enjoy it anyway.

I was just about to reup my sub so I could enjoy some of the VIP content I've been missing while I was off in a Galaxy Far Far Away. I just may anyway get some of it in before the lights go out.

That really should be an option to load that as the shell or explorer. or even better make it function like media center does in windows 7...which I have load as the shell on my media pc >.>

Exe files actually get asociated with a portion of windows called the shell. There are many sites out there on the net that have a reg file in a zip file you can download. There are some nastY viruses out there that change Your exe associiation to them selves to keep you infected and kill you AV. I have the reg file that will fix this for you, I can see if I an get it uploaded somewhere when I get home from working...which is often pretty late PST time, if you can't find it.

You shouldn't have to fix any shortcuts after the problem is fixed

I tried a couple tests on beta with the 11.8s, which consisted of playing the game with only 2Gb of ram instead of my normal 8 in order to see if the issue is being caused by having more than the Max ram a 32 bit system can support. The only thing the test proves is how bad atlas and Pretoria lag with that little memory, I understand now why some people have such poor experiances in the new zones.

But this got the little gerble in my head running and I thought. There is something different about launching the game now with the ncsdoft launcher. And that's I don't have to a prove an elevation of user rights to administrator in order to play any longer. And if memory serves me I switched to the launcher from the updater around 11.4. So I've forced the game to elevate and I'll see what happens. Heres hopping

Running for about an hour and 40 minutes on the 11.8's while on beta before the game locked up...I'll probably be rolling back to 11.4's as well. That is If I want to actually team or do an iTrial or anything

better frame rate with the 11.7s, but I still crashed after I had been playing for a while.

I decided to run a little test of the NCsoft launcher installer on an XP machine with sp3. For this test I am running the installer on a XP Mode install. For those not familiar this is Windows XP sp3 running on a virtual machine on my windows 7 machine.This install of windows is completly bare bones, it actually had no .Net versions installed.

I started with a fresh download of the launcher from the same link that Tex provided. Imidiatly after starting the installer it crashed. I then downloaded .Net version 4 from windows update and the installer continued with out issue. During the install the installer installed .net version 2, after which it launches it's self and does a background downloading test, and checks for updates, then shows me I have none of the games installed.

After which I exit the launcher and change my proxy settings in IE to point to 127.0.0.1 like Tex just pointed out. upon launching the launcher states it's unable to contact the launcher update server.

At this point I'd sugjest that Jawbreaker uninstalles every install of .net and the ncsoft launcher. (maybe even CoH as well) on his system, rebot, install .net v4 start the installer let it install .net v2 and see what happens. Most likely there is some error in one or more of his .net installs

awe...I actually have to sit at my computer to look at it instead of on my xoôm. The flash keeps reloading on me =(

I would sugjest looking at a possible memmory issue. Try running with just one of your DIMMs in place then launch the game see if the same issue happens again. If it does or doesn't switch to the other DIMM and try again.

I had a similar issue to yours a few months back. I tried just about everything including replacing the Graphics Card it wasn't till I tried each of my 4 DIMMs one at a time till I found that one was bad and every so often the system would write or read to it while playing the game and caused the video drivers to crash

Turns out I was running 11.6s. It seems that you are more likely to crash while on teams...especially trials. I had no issues while soloing. I rolled back to 11.4s and have not had any issues. Looks like I'll be waiting for the 11.7s

a side note: i never downloaded 11.5s on this machine >.>

I'm running 11.5 and don't have much issue when I'm solo, while running trials I crashed at least 4 times during one. Also noticed that performance has degraded from 11.4s. Used to have world and character distance at 200% with out issue had to turn them down to 100%. Have yet to try 11.6. I have a 5850 on win7 64bit
