I'm sure Aggy read it, but assumed (as I did) that perhaps you weren't aware of the difference and thought that *all* of the tailors were 'surgeons', because that's the only easy explanation. If you're definitely at the surgeon and paid for the science booster, and still can't do all the size-changing stuff as you should be able to, then it sounds like a bug. :/

Quote:I just make sure I'm up high. If I lag, I've either got enough time to pick and pop while I'm falling, or ... well, you never actually *die* from those falls. When I'm in laggy areas like Faultline, I tend to pop open one of my jet packs first just to avoid annoying lag drop-out-of-the-sky.

Quote:Seems to me the F2P part (which took me a minute to decipher, I assume it's 'Free to Play') is probably the key issue there. Take something with the base possibilities of D&D and make it free play? Even if it's craptastic, you'll get a lot of folks trying it.DDO or dungeons and dragons online was on life support so they merged servers. They also opened an item shop and went F2P but also kept a vip with with paid suscriptions. Not only did it help the game tremendously but it has opened 2 new servers since.
Just saying.

You know, several people were complaining about Kelly Uqua's arc in another thread. Never having played it, I turned to paragonwiki. It seems to me like this arc might've been an early experiment - it seems to have two slightly different endings to the arc, depending on success or 'failure' in the last mission...

What that tells me is that you'd benefit even more from additional RAM. That's the biggest difference-maker in load times.

*cue mad search across Paragon for the blueside equivalent...*

Quote:If you did use 3 pure resist enhancements and bump it well up into ED territory, doesn't that help when hit with resistance debuffs? Granted, I'd rather have the extra set bonuses than resistance I can only use once in a blue moon, but not everyone may feel that way. With a set, you could put in the pure resist, a resist/end, and a resist/recharge. For the sets with two different abilities, you get the equivalent of 75% effectiveness for each one, so 1+.75+.75 would give you the equivalent of 2.5 resist enhancements in the same three slots and end up losing less than 1 percent enhancement value because of ED.
Essentially, you are getting the same enhancement to the power for the same number of slots and then getting 2 set bonuses for free. Not a bad deal at all.
Perhaps they see it as 'working as intended' - figuring that you can get some recharge enhancement without really being able to get it near the ED-level. -
Quote:You can do that? O.OWhy doesn't he just go into options and turn off his name/title? I do it all the time when I want to take a screenshot.
I guess that means you can turn it *on* so you can see your title without having to skim thru all the badges to see which one is highlighted (and invariably accidentally clicking one and setting it as the current badge displayed along the way).
Wow, learn something new every day! -

Quote:You know, I'm not sure what it is but low level dominators seem horrifically squishy to me. I last longer in combat with a blaster. Maybe I'm just doing it wrong. I have an earth^2 dom at around 21/22 and it still seems like all a mob has to do it look at me and I lose half my green bar. :P And I don't even wanna think about my mental/psi dom.I find the 1-2 attacks very useful vs bosses and Lieuts. But if I'm in the mood to solo I play something else to be honest. The melee attacks are fairly hard hitting (for Domi attacks) but soloing her is always going to be a drag.
OTOH, my main blueside is an Ice/Emp controler, and he's a ton of fun, and very soloable. -
The aura should be up full-time, not just when HoE is active. At least that's how most such auras function.

Did you use a 'cleansweep' program? Drivers aren't like regular software, you need to make sure they're completely removed before installing an updated version. Not all driver installation routines do a good job of this.

Quote:Burke isn't giving you more missions because you've levelled up past the level range for his missions. Moreover, you exceeded the level range for the contact he would've introduced you to, so you can't get those missions either. So at this point you need to follow Dechs directions to get into some current contacts.
Incidentally, don't feel like you're missing out on content. When you get a bit higher level you can use the Ouroboros system to 'flashback' to any of the lower level content you missed, should you desire to.
Welcome to the game! -

Quote:This is probably a better mod. I like the toggle idea, but what happens if you get mezzed and detoggled? Boom!I think the best way to do it would be that when you take the power, it gives you a macro button with a fancy picture (like the MM macro buttons). When you plant the bomb, you gain a temporary power with a 10 minute real time duration and one charge. The macro contains a /powexecname command for this temp power, so that a full bar doesn't stop the temp power from showing up s\when you spawn the bomb.
If you click the temp power or macro, the temp goes away, and the bomb blows up. If you don't use the temp, the bomb blows up and the temp power expire simultaneously, 10 minutes later.
On second thought, that's actually kinda cool. "That's right, Captain Fantastic! This is a Dead Man's Switch! If you shoot me, I drop this, and we *all* die! MWAAAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
Oh, ahem. Sorry. -
Quote:And if you go this route but you like your costumes (aside from the blatant rip-off one) be sure and use the costume creator to back them up. It'd be a shame to see your awesomesauce threads get hit with the generic bat because you wanted to save $10.Try this:
Make your costume an obvious ripoff of some Marvel character. Then make your bio a copy-paste of that character's background, but with your character's name in the right places.
Then have a friend report you.
GENERIC'D!
You now have a name change token. -

Laf, I'll try to remember to ask Jim next time I see him whether that actually happened. I just saw him on last night. His wife Shannon is also a fairly famous author and she plays as well.

Quote:Oh, I can believe that it's gotten /worse/.You may be right, but I traveled to and from Cimerora several times in the weeks prior to I17, including just two days before the release and never got stuck. The day of the release, I got stuck both ways everytime. )

Quote:How about 'worst drivers and crappiest video solution' ever instead? You could probably go spend $75 on a cheap ATI card, disable your 'integrated (lack-of)graphics' chipset, and be way ahead of where you were.Able to play fine, but my gfx went from a 1st gen Xbox 360 game to a 1st gen Playstation 2 game (maybe 1, they're really crappy) because of the intel gpu issues.
Worst issue release ever.
Heh, while I can relate to the sentiment, let's not go overboard. We may not want to read all these gripes, but then again, no one is *making* us read them, either. The folks who are spewing venom everywhere might be unrealistic and impatient, but they *do* pay to play as well as we do, and I sincerely wish that their gaming experience will be fixed if possible. -
I'm betting one reason Ultra Mode was released like this, free, and prior to GR, is precisely because they didn't want the expansion to have too much 'new' - this way they roll out UM and get it working well over the next couple of months before dealing with GR.
