    Origins

    So... I´m sure people have already made comments about it but heer it go again anyway.

    I believe that chosing an Origin should actually mean something to a character, rather than just being a question about wanting to use a Nemesis Staff or a Blackwand (when you can use them, of course). On Comics the Origin makes all the difference...

    - Mutants on Marvel are feared and hated. Most of their main story arc work around this concept...
    - Magical users can affect things nothing else can... Superman as an example is vulnarable to 2 things: Kriptonite and Magic. That should be true to us too, as Rikti are said to fear magic.
    - People who rely on Technology to get powers may end up without batteries. Spidey tends to get in trouble with his Web-Shooters on the most hilarious ways. (Even tought he is not the perfect example as he have powers from a Spider bite too)
    -Natural heroes have their own problems in dealing with other supers... You have to outsmart them, because you can not defeat them with only your "powers". That´s how Captain America and Batman work, and both have fought some legendary battles.
    -The Science guys are mostly geeks... But you will run to them whenever you need to know exactly how to close that dimension rupture you accidently opened...

    I mean, they´re DIFFERENT from each other... Not the same thing with a different small litle power that you probably never use again after you reached level 10. I´m not saying they should do any drastic changes to gameplay, but they could at least make some use of the Origins story wise at least.

    New ATs please

    Yeah, I would rather have some new EATS than ATs... Like I`ve read somewhere that once there where talks about Coralax being an EAT. That would be kind of nice. An Incarnate EAT maybe? That would be just awesome... I would like to see something Unique, rather than a combination of otehr ATs as people have already said above.

    Yeah, I know... They´re on Freedom, have a toon on it even tough I barelly enter Freedom... But even tough I can speak some English there are still words I don´t understand. Now think a 13 year old with no language knowledge trying to play. I had to help some of them already...

    Hum... Not that sure about a Libray Pass but I certainly would like some way to get to Cimerora through teleport. I´ve been trying too get Daedalus arc for that.
    I don´t mind the walk, actually I could really "Walk" (toggle power) all the distance there. What bothers me are the loading screens. Whoever have played with me on Justice might now how I HATE loading screens... It takes forever from one loading screen to another. Most of the times I try logging the first time I won´t be able because game freezes on loading screen and then I´m back to password...
    My computer is not that modern or powerful, and I couldn´t even figure out what I have to update so the game works better, so until I get a completely new comp (what won´t help any time soon) I´m stuck to the game as it is...

    So, well, I would appreciate a TP to Cimerora... That would turn at least 4 loading screens into just one. But that´s me...
  7. Hum... Well, as said Going Rogue will fix that for us, in the "open world" discussion.

    And PvP in this game totally sucks... I totally suck in PvP in the other games I´ve tried, but the system on this one is outrageous.

    For the PvE with PvP on stuff... Have you tried to get Shivans when people who actually desire to PvP are on the Zone? That´s extremely annoying... And would be that way with whole world open to that. Flagging is terible too (check the combo explanation on the other post).

    WOW is that big for several reasons, most of them commented on one post or another around here. One of them nobody tought about is because the majority of some servers are made from asian teen nerds that have no social skills on RL so they spent ALL their free time in the game. Have you (generic you) bothered to check how many Chinese and Indian people are in the world? (BTW: I don´t think ALL people from those country are like that or that ALL WOW players are like that either... I´m no hater. And sadly I was a teen nerd with no social skills until i graduated from High School... lol)

    I think a server merger with Eu could turn out to be interesting... But would create some more language problems. Some people have trouble learning english, and I don´t think they would have fun being ignored because they don´t speak it..

    And on other hand... English is not my main language, but I try my best to write properly.

    Just to finish, to put some enphasis on it... PvP in CoH really sucks.

  10. Hum... Coming to think of it, a muscle slider certainly would help on making a strongwoman. Agree that on She-Hulk type that would fit well enough. But when I said what I wanted I mentioned Giganta in Golden Era. Google it and check it out. :-)

    Face customizing would be awesome too... But I guess that is way too difficult too. After all, how long did we had to wait for some new faces to come around?

    More "back" stuff would be fun... Like weapons, backpacks, gas cylinders, thorns and stuff like thta. Capes only are kind of lame.

    Someone said on another thread that the old missions should be revamped, with the new ones becoming the "live game" while the older ones could be placed at Ouroboros... I actually would enjoy that, as it would be fun to run Calvin Scott TF. Specially with him becoming a main NPC again on GR.

    Underwater?

    Underwater really seems cool, but only if well done... A WHOLE underwater world would be too much, but one where you have to cross water distances would be fun I guess. And there would have to be some kind of explanation for them to breathe underwater...
    For powers to work, maybe just the melee based ones? It would be quite odd to see Fire Blast or Storm Summoning under water...

    On the other side... How about Water Based powers? That would be cool too. Water Controling or Water Blast could turn out nice...

    I want to use shark-repelent against Mako! It would be awesome on a STF.... LOL

    And about the Aquaman stuff... Riding sea-horses and aquatic telepaty = lame. Harpoon in the place of hand in a gladiator style armor = DA BOMB.
    Wonder how exactly a Atlantean (or wathever Namor was) explains having wings on it´s ankles that makes him fly... Why the heck do the Submariner needs to fly???
  12. So, on de children aspect... I know we can make some toons look like they´re younger, what I meant was children in the game itself. Like rescuing children, or even running around in the city (if there´s restriction due ratings on the first). It´s just so we know there ARE children, you know. As it is it seems people just appeared full grown up.

    And on the new skeleton for new bodies... The huge model already exists as a male, it would just have to be somewhat modified. And for the fat guys I believe they could around the huge models too, if going for the really fat ones. Not sure how to solve on the "beer-belly" ones, as it would mess up with the clothes too...
    I know it is NOT easy, but it is something that would be nice to have around, and as they´re working on the graphics engine as we speak for the Ultra Mode...

    Ah, a new tought... How about female type henchman? Would be fun some personalization on that too..
  13. So, not really sure where these stuff where last talk about because I couldn´t really find them... That way I decided to open this new thread and see what comes around.

    I´ve been running around Paragon for more than a year now and there´s certainly stuff I miss seeing in the streets. Not that they woul make a huge difference in game play, but would certainly be fun.

    1. Fat heroes/villains. Yes, I want make a chubby hero! Come on, there´s some fat NPCs but they are very few in general. Why can´t I make a toon like Blob or Kingpin? Or even a beer-belly crime-fighter? That way some of us fattys can get the "feel" of being heroic...

    2. Children. No, a child is not a small adult. Ask a Pediatrician if you want. The only kid I can remember to see on this game was that baby New Year, and it´s a really creepy kid I must say...

    3. Huge woman models. Like strongwoman types. Think Giganta (from Wonder Woman), specially in the Golden Age.

    4. Animals. Cats, Dogs, Birds and the like... It would be fun to fight a Rabid Dog as a lowbie and maybe a Dinossaur as I get higher in the food chain...

    5. Animal faces and body parts. We can with some work make Bird-like or Gorilla-like toon, but would help a lot to have specific parts for that.

    6. REAL claws. As someone put before (sorry, can´t recall who did it) "think Sabretooth, not Wolverine". I think that can be done with a "glove model" if realistic hands are too dificult.

    Those above are all graphic issues I think, just to improve way the game look... Have BABs sais anything about it that I didn´t find on the forums?

    In the gameplay itself we certainly could use both more begginer content and high level content, as when you hit 50 with a toon there´s not much to do besides hit 50 with another... And let´s face it, for people who have played for long time (or suffer from altitis like me) the early game content have become quite boring. But that we see everybody complaining so...

    Just my five cents... What everybody think of it? And what are the thing you guys miss in this beloved game of ours?

    BTW: English is not my primary language, so be kind with mistakes. ;-)

Since a Kheldian merging with a human seems to be permanent until the death of the human part, what happens when they are pulled apart? What would happen to the human host if the Kheldian part was killed off? They pulled Altered Umbra out of Lars Mendelson, and they were Shadowcatcher no more... And Lars Mendelson seemed to be quite troubled by what happened.
    On a second question... When a Human/Kheldian have children with another human what´s the result? And if they both are part Kheldians? Can part of the Kheldian powers pass to the child?

  18. And how about Mind Over Body (Psychic), Charged Armor (Elec) or Temp Invulnerability (Power)? Are all those a waste of power choice? I´m not seeing anyone say anytyhing about these.

    I´m starting to think Psychic is the best idea, but am not yet sure... I´ve played Energy but was not completely satisfied. What you guys think?

    I actually enjoy flying and it fits the concept of my toon, so I kept it. Probably could work it out with Hover only... But then I could only trade Flight for Tatics, but not get Veng
    Your toughts?

    [EDIT] Also I could change the Impervious Skin enhancement for the Status resistance one... Have both...

  21. So.... Do you know about this stuff that we have to guess the right colors?
    I found at ubber-mega-closed-secret alfa (comes before the beta) that if you match the colors on the powers AND the auras you use with your /Regen with the ones in the Dev´s favorite comic hero (that was found out in a secret pool made long ago...) you get a 5,375% BONUS in it! Imagine you with all those fancy colors AND a bonus! All those other care bears with -20% will be so jealous, hum?

    Now, what part of "joke" people don´t get that there has to be a smile on the post?
    And the above wasn´t even funny, just plain absurd....

    But speaking of things in the horizon, there is not any planned date for Going Rogue yet either, right? All we know is that it will be SOON™...
  23. As excited as everyone, after alll that teaser is just awesome. But... Man, I shurely hope they do this right... I´ve been around just for around 8 months or so, but I´ve seen LOTS of wrongs. And if they keep messing up as they have been doing, I´m worried sick this game is fated to die.

    Some food for tought, so you can be positive that people WILL leave if they get upset.
    1. ED = lots of pissed of players left (ok, this one I wasn´t even here).
    2. PvP nerf = death of PvP community
    3. Issue 14 = BLAME THE PLAYERS! leading to bans and lots of old hardcore players losing faith in the game and leaving

    Now, with 2 major competition games just in the corner CoX won´t be the only Superhero MMO around... If the marketing team messes up again, releasing a product that people aimed so high in expectations different from what the player base desired... Well, I feel bad for it but CoX will be history.

    I´m trying to see how can I get more influ (not very good at that) on it so I can buy the purples... With those 10% of recharge I could make A LOT of changes as I spent several slots with recharge...
    Hum, I tried to get the procs at the lowest (and affordable of course) level possible. But if I bring the bonus sets down to the 30s won´t I be losing too much bonus? I´m still not used to how exactly the numbers work, ED confuses me a lot.
