Quote:Hmm... but doesn't that only work once? If he got his cyborg pack through the Architect Edition already, I don't think he can get Magic the same way.If you purchase the Architect Edition, that comes with your choice of either the Magic or Cyborg pack. Plus the code gives you an additional 30 days game time (which you would otherwise be paying separately anyway). All in all, the total net cost for AE is a negative value.

Quote:well, there's that one, the two in the ITF, and then the several scattered about in the background of (one of?) the future-devastated-atlaspark mission maps. The giant mek-men most recently exposed were a targeting test, I think by Synapse, might have been Castle. One of the power guys / UI guys pet projects is getting the "mass targeting" working so things like Rularuu the Ravager can be made playable: http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/File:CoH_Size_Chart.jpg
I don't think, from an official viewpoint, that we've ever been "teased" with fighting a gigantic Council / Column critter outside of Hess's Task Force in Striga.
(many of my villains on the ITF have wanted to say; "Screw the future, I'm taking one of THOSE for a joy-ride")
And while, yes, there was that one slip-up in the AE. It was giant, and it was a mekman. but wasn't it the wrong mekman? one of the minions made not-so-small? -
Nice.
I hope we get to eventually fight those giant 5th column/council mekmen they keep teasing us with. -
Probably be taking hasten on characters that don't have it, things that don't require much in the way of slotting that I passed on due to tight builds (grounded on my /elec scrapper)... and otherwise probably takin' low endurance cost toggles or powers I can slot global IO procs in.

uh.... dunno? Try taking a screenshot of him next time you see him?

Pretty sure it's more like #4 (Community Chest; Bank error in your favor, collect $200).
It's likely what DumpleBerry said, a while back there was a problem with the database that kept track of vet rewards, many were awarding late or just failing to award. For a few years, the only solution was to have support review your account and manually award them (which often turned into contacting them monthly if the support agent did not also manually set the date for future rewards).
With more and more accounts being affected by the increasingly corrupt database, it seems they took the "nuke it from orbit" approach and started with a new database. Which in most (if not all) cases only knew the registry date of the users.
So, look at the veteran rewards you have, and see if they would be correct based on when you created your CoH account (ignoring any time off). Probably wouldn't hurt to contact support though. -
Quote:Basically - 2 Alignment Merits gets you a recipe of your choice (as opposed to 100-250ish reward merits)Paragon wiki is your friend

Sorry - corrected the link
1 AMerit gets you a random 5 recipes. basically, all the random rolling you could do with 100 merits? convert the merits to AMerits, and the result is twice as many recipes. And you have a better chance of getting something that you can market to recoup the 40mil inf cost of conversion.
Also purchaseable are Purple and PvP recipes (8 and 25-35 AMerits respectively, I believe). -
I made a suggestion regarding this a while ago (short version: provide a legend/filter for the colours in the search window please)... Might be something to bug your friendly neighborhood Dev about. Don't be obnoxious about it, but, y'know; might be a good idea to hammer it in by sending the devs a chocolate box with the legend removed.
EDIT: personally, the only colour I ever remember the meaning of is purple (Team leader), the rest are gibberish if I don't have a legend open. -
I figure on any character I play enough to warrant a respec, probably going to pick up hasten on any character that doesn't have it, the other power picks will probably be used as mules for global IO bonuses like LOTG... maybe pick up something like combat jumping/hover and slot it with a def/end IO.
Don't think we need extra slots for these powers, but I wouldn't argue if we got them. That said, would be nice if we got 5 slots at 50 instead of 3; potentially 6 slot the lvl 49 power pick. >.> -
I think Ishmael is at it again. First, kings row and that underground entrance. Now, the world! Muahahahaha!

Quote:Although, based on what I've heard/experienced with norton&mcafee... that isn't exactly high praise.First of all "YAY" to the op for (hopefully) getting rid of their virus.
2nd, I'm glad you asked this question because I was about to. I use the MSE programs because they got pretty good reviews from the computer magazine review guys. Read in a couple of different mags that it was up there at least with Norton and McAfee. -
Wings, on paragon wiki. Note that most wings require crafting a costume piece recipe, angel+demon require being a 15 month veteran, valkyrie/organic each require a booster pack. they can be found under the "back" section of the costume editor once you have them unlocked.

Oh, it works... but it's a bit of an inelegant solution that doesn't really consider some possibilities, like switching trays for khelds/exemplaring... which a well coded tray lock might solve (allow binds/macros to switch trays, but disable arrow use)
-
I wouldn't mind a lock tray feature... I'd even consider it a bonus if powers couldn't be dragged to/from locked trays, sometimes in the heat of battle, i either hold down the mouse button for too long or just move the mouse too soon. I find this especially prevalent with click-to-target location AOEs like rains; I move the mouse before it registers that the button is no longer pressed, and the power switches location on my tray.
I don't personally consider this a top priority thing, but it's definitely near the top of my QoL issues. -

I've just found, recently, that the RNG hates me the most when I NEED to not miss... "ok, at half heath, but I can take the next mob; just need to hold the hard-hitting Lt. crud. Uh, aoe hold, GO! Oh, lovely it held the two minions but missed the Lt. I can still salvage this! Tree of Life! Seeds of Confusion! perfect >.> The two held minions are now confused and the Lt is still after me!"
It's my own fault for rushing in at half health on a squishy... been too spoiled by scrappers and brutes lately. -
Why not go for that third defensive enhancement? Yes, the effects of ED do reduce the effectiveness of the third enhancement (assuming SO or better), but the more defense you have, the more each additional percent increases your survivability (not so much for resistance, but every bit still helps). Or even a second end redux in your toggles? Especially any of those pool power ones that are a little heavier on the end usage.
I think you may just be overcompensating for Enhancement Diversification. I wouldn't start putting four of any given enhancement in a power (outside frankenslotting and TO/DOs), but if you have nowhere else pressing to spend those slots on, go for the third.
Also, I'm calling shenanigans on the cost of IOs. I looked up reactive armor. Of the lvl 40s, 2 were 15-20mil, 2 were 10-15 mil, and the others were under 500k. And that's not even buying smart. For a number of these, the lvl 39s (~0.2%-0.3% less enhancement #s provided per enhancement) are going from 500k-5mil, a 90% reduction in cost in most cases. Granted my prices are at the "buy it naow!" levels that seasoned marketeers shake their heads at.
And I'll mirror what others have said about inf - at lvl 50, 30 mil isn't much. On a single ITF run, at lvl 50, I get ~2mil from kills alone. Probably near double that after vendoring SOs and common IOs. Then you spend your merrits on a roll, and sell that - if you're lucky you can market that roll for 10-100 mil. -
Quote:For more... targeted help, it might be prudent to look up mid's hero designer, and post the current build in the scrapper forums. My scrapper has regular io's. I don't have enough money to buy the good ones. Most of my attacks don't have any Endurance reduction enhancements. Just Acc's and Dam's. I did slot my up health up to 3 slots. A pal of mine suggested that I buy Numina's colvusence for my health, but there way too expensive. I have the basic slotting in my shield powers. Help!!

Yes, this would work as the pop-up text does mention that your ability to report in is based off your original faction choice.
-
As far as I can tell it's because of the mid-air direction control that you get from NR, hurtle, combat jumping, etc... you used to be able to run against the slope of the war walls with just sprint and sail past the various mobs below. But at some point they changed something that made steeper slopes less walkable.
-
Yeah, as far as I can tell, it just involves going to the other side's (level appropriate) contacts. But it's not quite obvious, as they don't really set you up with anyone automatically, so you either have to look up where they are on the forums/paragon wiki, or search 'em out on your own.
-
Yeah, I only ever found Freaks annoying in the 20-30 range... tanks are annoying then; not enough DPS, mitigation, or tricks to efficiently deal with them. After 30? Free chance of double XP on Lts or higher.

This sounds like a fairly serious issue. And without additional technical information about your computer, would be impossible to diagnose within a reasonable time frame.
Step 1, head on down to the Technical Issues & Bugs forum.
Step 2, read through the Common Solution & Posting Guide sticky.
Step 3, If none of the common solutions solve your problem, read the "How to post" section paying extra attention to the parts about CoH Helper and HijackThis. These two programs will generate a LOT of text that you need to paste into your new post in the tech boards. This should give our tech savvy players sufficient information to diagnose your problem and provide a solution.
Hope you get this figured out... Crashes are never fun.
