  1. You may need to uninstall nTune. If it is doing similar things to what the Riva Tuner and EVGA Precision tool did, just turning it off or disabling it didn't resolve the issues.

Also, something is blocking CoH Helper and preventing it from accessing the registry settings and showing them in the log. It could be COMODO or Avast blocking it.

Finally, you have an inordinately large number of programs running. With your limited memory, that can't be good for gaming.
  2. Do you have the NCSoft Launcher set to close once it launches the game? There are reports of memory leaks with leaving the Launcher running in the background.

Something else you could try would be to regularly type /unloadgfx or /reloadgfx in the chatbox.
  3. When you run the NCSoft Launcher, are you right-clicking it and selecting Run As Administrator?

You can also set it to Run as Administrator on the Compatibility tab of the shortcut's Properties.

If you read the entire post, you will see that the OP did indeed claim that it is a scrapper. One sentence claimed it to be a jumping off point for the imagination, but in another sentence actually wrote that the OP now has a pistols scrapper. See the quote at the end of the post.

If you read it, then you either skipped a sentence or misunderstood because the OP actually did write that they now have a pistols scrapper. See the quote below.

If the OP had instead written something along the lines of "and finally with the introduction of Time Manipulation I have something close" then I wouldn't have bothered replying at all. The problem is, the OP actually claimed to now have a pistol scrapper and there is no such thing.

That's not me putting words in the OP's mouth. That's not me misinterpreting what the OP wrote. It's what the OP actually wrote.

There was a message at the top of the forum saying that I couldn't post unless I was VIP and when I tried to post anyway I got a message that I didn't have access or something like that.

I couldn't get in-game support, tried to post in the Tech/Bug section and wasn't allowed, so I re-subbed in order to post. I was going to re-sub eventually anyway so that wasn't a big deal. If other Premium players are able to post I'd like to know why some could and some couldn't. There's a glitch somewhere.
The original plan was that only VIP's would be able to post on the forums. However, enough players made valid points that Paragon Studios listened and began investigating ways to allow non-VIP's to have limited posting capabilities.

I know for a fact that non-VIP accounts can post in the Gameplay / Technical Issues & Bugs forum since I've posted there on my other account. Actually, it was in response to another non-VIP player's questions about posting. Our Community Manager even posted in that thread as well with some clarifications about what they were trying to implement, although it was a bit vague as they apparently haven't fully ironed out what they are going to be able to do.

It's possible that when you tried to post it was before they started trying to implement those features or it was before they had gotten that section set up for non-VIPs to post.

EDIT: It is also possible that they have again made some changes while they are trying to see what they can implement. My Premium account has this message at the top of the forums:

When I get to Gameplay / Technical Issues & Bugs I can start a New Thread. The legend at the bottom of the screen says that I can post replies but I get error messages when I click New Reply. I also don't have the Quick Reply box at the bottom of the page. In Player Questions it now states that I can't make new posts and can't Reply to posts. Since they haven't announced the formal decision on what they will be allowing and are likely still tinkering with the vBulletin software to give non-VIPs limited posting capabilities, anything could change between now and when they formalize the decision and announce it on the forums.

Nope, because that would violate the forum rules and the mods would come in and lock the thread.

Of course, that would shorten the new arguments.

And the lesson learned is: Oh well, you don't get debt during zone events and since they are announced on the forums, Facebook and Twitter in advance of the event it is relatively easy to avoid it and if you missed those announcements the red ADMIN text will tell you what zones to avoid.
Fleshed out that last sentence a bit.

Didn't you know it had already been decided that this is useless set?

You should read more threads so you are better informed.

Then you would know it is clearly worthless since it doesn't outperform Super Strength (especially KO Blow).

An obscure character from Bomberman 64 would probably not be recognized (especially given the stylistic differences between that game and this one) as long as the character's bio didn't reference (or even hint at) that character's backstory, but you never know.
Actually, they've had the "no infringement" rules in since the game launched, even before the Marvel lawsuit. It was even mentioned in the original Prima guide with a cute little cartoon about Neo and Wolverine clones. The Marvel lawsuit just brought more attention to the rules that were already in place. That's one of the things that helped them in the lawsuit in that they already had rules in place telling players this was not allowed and had a policy to remove the infringements (Generic costumes, generic names, wiped Description and Battlecry, etc.).

The severely limited ability to communicate in and out of game might turn off some players.

Yeah, I know they play for free, but that doesn't mean they won't spend money in the shop.
And if they spend money in the shop they are no longer Free players but are now Premium players and have different restrictions. One thing they gain as soon as they spend any money in the shop is the ability to use tells.

Currently, I know that they are able to post in the Gameplay / Technical Issues & Bugs forum and I believe they are able to post in the Player Questions forum as well. Those two sections alone are some of the best help resources any player can get, whether they are Free, Premium or VIP.

The Help channel is only limited in that it is specific to that server. That is far more reach than Broadcast, Request, Local, Team or anything other than a global channel or tell has. Well, I'm not sure about /ac since I never use it and don't have it on any tabs.

That memory usage looks rather high to me. Is the memory usage that high all the time, is it that high when you are playing CoH, or is this something else? How long had it been since you had shut down the computer completely or rebooted?

A few things in the CoH Helper catch my eye. I'd recommend turning Ambient Occlusion OFF completely as it is known to be resource intensive. I'd also recommend turning Bloom OFF as well and lowering the World Texture Level to High.

It might help a bit to reduce the Maximum Particles to somewhere around 25050 from the current 50000.

Those of us used to looking at HJT logs already know to ignore things like the O10 entries for the unknown file in the Winsock LSP and the file missing entries.

I am a bit curious about the 2 RIFT entries in the Running Processes section. Were you playing RIFT when you ran HJT or is this some extraneous stuff that RIFT leaves running even when you aren't playing? If the game was running, that could possibly account for the memory usage I noticed in the CoH Helper output.

And I'm skating on thin ice in this post. If I get much further in I'll have to click the Report Post icon on it and make Zwafflemonger fall out of his chair laughing when he sees who reported it.

It showed up before that for me. I got it once on the weekend a few weeks back and once a few days ago.

From it happening the first time, I knew that I only needed to exit the game completely (the launcher is set to close as soon as the game launches) and then restart the game.

I haven't done any street sweeping since Issue 1 or 2 maybe. And that was in Boomtown with SG members. We rolled through everything in our path. It got old after a while.

I've never done the old sewer run.

I'm not a big fan of radio missions. I'd rather do missions from a contact that tell a story.

I preferred getting the initial contacts and running their missions for the stories. And then getting introduced to more contacts and running their missions for the stories. And contiuing that way through to 50.

I don't think any of my characters have followed the exact same contact chain, even among my several Technology characters. I always vary the contacts even if I have the same starting contact.

And I like running it that way, so I'll continue to do it that way.

And no, I haven't done the new sewer stuff either and don't plan to.

I see a rather glaring flaw in your post. Scrapper =/= Corruptor

HP, AT Modifiers, Damage Scales, Defense, probably more I'm not thinking of ...

Not to mention that Scrapper Primaries are Melee Attacks and Corruptor Secondaries are Ranged Attacks.

Trying to equate the two is rather absurd.

I cannot begin enjoying the value of those points until after I spend them. So there's a period of months between the time I paid my money and when I can begin enjoying the benefits of what I purchased.

If I spent the same amount of money now instead of earlier, I would be given the points etc immediately and I could enjoy the value from now forward instead of having to wait several months.

Since I would have months more time to enjoy what I purchased, I would have months more value.
I'm going to address those last two paragraphs that I bolded. I believe you have misunderstood how the points when the points will be awarded

Picking up from your later post, you paid in March. At that time, Paragon Points did not exist so you haven't been receiving any until Freedom launched. When the monthly billing date rolls around, you will get your points (unless you were in the group with a billing date that fell between the 1st and 11th, those will be awarded the 11th of this month and on progressively earlier dates until it lines up with the correct billing date by February).

You aren't having to wait until your renewal date March of 2012 to get those Points. You will get them awarded on that billing date each month. If you purchased an annual subscription today, you wouldn't get all of the Points front loaded. You would still get them on the billing date each month.

Their original plan was that they would front load either the Points or Reward Tokens (I can't remember which) for multi-month subscriptions, but technical issues are preventing that from happening so they have changed the plans based on those technical issues. You'll still get the points each month on the billing date and the Reward Tokens each month. You won't have to wait until your subscription renewal date.

There is a difference between what the terms Billing Date and Renewal Date mean.

The Renewal Date is the date that your subscriptions renews and charges your Credit Card or whatever payment method you have set. It is usually expressed and calculated using a Month/Day/Year format with each one being significant to the calculation. This could occur 12 times a year for monthly subscriptions, 4 times a year for 3-month subscriptions, 2 times a year for 6-month subscriptions or 1 time a year for 12-month subscriptions (including the 12-month + 2 bonus plans they've offered at times).

The Billing Date is the same date each month and it is the monthly anniversary of the Renewal Date. It is usually expressed and calculated using a Day format since only the Day is significant to the calculation.

For example, if you paid a 12-month subscription on March 15, 2011 then your Renewal Date is March 15, 2012 and your Billing Date is the 15th of each month. The 15th of each month (Billing Date) is when your Points are awarded.

Continuing that example, if you paid a 12-month subscription now, on October 7, 2011 then your Renewal Date would be October 7, 2011 and your Billing Date is the 7th of each month. The 7th of each month (Billing Date) is when your Points are awarded. However, since it is before the 11th, it may be that it temporarily awards it on the 11th and then subsequently on earlier dates until February when it would be back to the 7th. But we don't know if that was only for existing subscriptions or how new ones would be handled if they are before the 11th of the month.

Hopefully that will clear things up for you and some others.
