Quote:The fact that they have a strong sense of ethics is why they make the changes. It would be bad to not go through and fix problems and potential problems when found.I guess I was just hoping for a little more from our devs then. A stronger sense of ethics. I understand things will always change in an MMO. I have left coh when it became something I didn't care for (ED/control nerfs) and I came back when it was once again something fun (inventions). But somehow purchasing a specific product from the market, having it changed, and not having any option to return said product feels wrong.
Oh and I suspect that less than 10% of the people buying SBE's do so for the proc. Most have other reasons so little will change with their sales. -
Quote:One of us is confused here. The only process in hecatomb is the 6th IO that gives a 33% chance to cause moderate negative energy damage to your targets.Well thats a kick to the groin after spending 2k points on Hecatomb procs for My characters specifically with KO blow and Concentrated strike since I greatly enjoy Kinetic Melee and Super strength. As it stands now because of my desire to have high recharge I'm going to be screwed out of procs with the asinine changes to make the chance to proc based off of modified recharge.
Yeah not happy about this at all and not buying any Attuned Enhancements from the store again at this rate and may have to reconsider giving Paragon Market $250 a month just to show my support with these kind of screw job nerfs to things I've paid for.
There are no other processes in the set. So I'm understanding that your upset that that 33% chance for extra damage will be limited to happening only some unknown number of times per minute after this change? Note it was only a 33% chance to fire anyway a good chance ye 1/3 chance every hit. Nice but .... -
Any sufficiently advanced science is indistinguishable from magic and any sufficiently advanced magic is indistinguishable from science.

They are really creations of magic.

Quote:The amazing thing is that if you don't want to buy something you don't have to spend your points. Wait I'm certain something will come along you just must have.Hell, no.
I dont even forget last time I cancelled my suscription.
What I mean is Im having lots of points that I dont spend lately, and SSAs were not that great so that makes me wonder if I should remain as premium, and pay only for points when I want to buy something... -
I wish to complain about just how hard this policy makes it if you instant change between a tailed and nontailed form. Don't even get me started about going between scaled reptilian and human.

I'm quite certain that there is no movie resembling Dark Shadows coming out. Absolutely certain of it. That other movie that might happen to share a name with it and some character names is definitely not Dark Shadows.

The River wasn't pretty enough cinematography. Far to much shaky cam etc to be visually in the same area as Event Horizon which is a terrible but pretty pretty movie.

Yeah I sort of expected them to jump into their zodiac abandoning the Magus as planned and sailing off into the end credits with ominous music or something. Not that. Very hmm, odd yes that is it very odd for the ending.

Quote:Yes it is and I'm perfectly happy to buy sets. So long as the occasional one is free I don't mind the increased pace of releasing sets if they are charging for it.Just out of curiosity, how do you, as an individual, feel about buying new powersets even though you're a VIP member? I'm not taking sides here, nor will I support either one. I'm simply curious as to how the general community feels about this. Is it justified?
Since they went to FREEDOM!!!! not that the pace of releasing power sets has gone way up. It used to be lucky if you saw a new set with an issue. And so if they charge for that increased pace of releasing the sets I'm all for it. -
Really if you don't feel that VIP is giving you value for it there is no reason you shouldn't drop to premium. Really if that is where you feel your best value is go for it.
That said I've had my account since 2 weeks after launch. And I will be staying VIP for the foreseeable future. But like the Incarnate stuff even though as a primary soloer I don't have lots of access to it. And I love the access to lots and lots alternate characters. Even though I have a fair number of slots available I would lose access to a lot of my characters if I dropped to premium. So for now I'll stay VIP.
But again if you are not feeling that it benefits you don't remain VIP. That is my advice. -
Quote:Well yes I would say any of the Hammer films would be great to watch.Oooo, the two Phibes films are great fun. They may be considered more campy than horror. Actually any UK horror film starring either Vincent Price, Peter Cushing or Christopher Lee (the more the merrier) could be considered enjoyable by the less squeamish.
Sorry, big fan of old Hammer films. -
Quote:Oh yes Ju-On is the better movie of the pair. The Ring/Ringu is a better pair though but even their the Japanese version is better.I just want to state my strong opinion that the Japanese one is a great flick, but the US's remake is not anywhere close and, at least, should be saved for after watching the real one.
Just my opinion, but I wanted to mention that in my reply when I suggested Ju-On.
I highly recommend Ju-On, but I don't recommend The Grudge at all. -
It has been ok but it's main saving grace is that it is only 8 episodes long. I think that is the only reason I have stuck with it. That and they do seem to make some progress each week. Though if they were smart they would all have run screaming for home when the found the guy who had been hanging dieing and coming back to life for months.
If this show had been a full 20+ episode series I know I wouldn't have bothered watching it. -
Devil - Oddly a much much better movie than you would expect based on the premise. It started with one of the creepiest shots I've ever seen and held tension nicely through the whole movie. Kind of a kick back to a string of 70's movies I vaguely remember all involving boats picking up a passenger and ending with a different boat picking up a passenger. Anyway a nice effective psychological thriller mainly set in an elevator.
The Grudge/Ju-On - a US remake of a Japanese horror movie much like The Ring/Ringu are remake and original.
The Others - a nice effective ghost story.
The new Nosfeatu is nice and effective as well.
Season of the Witch(2011) - Some unpleasant bloated corpses here and there but a lot of tight psychological tension on who is right the priest or the witch as they transport her.
There is another one from SE asia I think maybe Singapore involving ghosts but I can't think of its title right now. Actually there is some very good foreign horror films out there. I'm trying to stick to the not to gory types of movies. Hmm, I'll ponder it some more I've definitely seen some but those are the ones that jump out immediately.
Not horror but Dylan Dog is fun. -

Quote:::blink::if i had paid real money to but paragon points to buy this and only then discovered i couldn't use the power set with the character i bought it for, i would not be a happy camper...
Umm Power sets always are for new characters and can't be used on existing characters. What exactly were you thinking this was? It is a power set not a power.

Quote:City of Heroes release back in 2004 predated the trend in having life time subscriptions available on launch. That started in 2006 I think.Don't most MMORPG Games, at launch, have this option, for a little while? If they never had it for this game, wny didn't they? Just curious, is all.
Trust me if you could ever have bought a lifetime subscription for this game I would have one. -
Quote:Oh we have had plenty of issues with no freespecs. It is just that the last 7 or 8 issues have had major system changes which brought a freespec along with them. So the freespec has never been because of the new issue but instead because of the degree of change brought with the issue.I can't recall an issue that didn't grant a freespec, and I can never recall that respec showing up the day or week of an issues release.
I will admit I haven't payed much attention to freespecs in the past year or two since I have so many vetspecs.
That said they have once or twice also given one a week or two after the issue went live when they where first toying with them. -

Interesting, they are playing with some fascinating changes to the backstory with Peter removed from the timeline from the point when the lake broke until the bridgeheads where established. And they aren't hitting us over the head with it. I would go back and have rewatch the episodes with our new enemy to see how Peter interacted in that but clearly without Peter World 1 never detected the Dr.'s Actions as a Fringe event. And of course without Peter the Dr. survived his jaunt.
The other interesting bit is who is working with the Dr. I can't say that I'm that surprised as I haven't exactly trusted that character since first seen and I have a feeling that certain restraining persons didn't have the same influence this time around. Though it does explain the Watchers reference to Olivia needing to die. Though does she need to stay dead? -
