Quote:No no no. If I follow the comments right you play a facinating game of chase the store icon around the screen as it zigs and zags in a frantic effort to avoid your pushing it.So you're saying to use the store, we have to hope the right inspiration drops?
Though reports are that they may have corrected this so the game isn't quite so frantic as that. -

Pity, I liked that Jo and Zoe had to save the day.
Oh and I really like HG. I don't trust her but I really like her. -

Quote:I don't count that as selling powers. They will. There will be a number of powersets that must be purchased, even by VIP's. Of course, selling "powers" is not even close to selling "power", despite the difference of only a single letter.
No really I don't. It's essentially selling a class or a class path in other games. Doesn't really change the games power scale unless the sold powersets are somehow superior to the existing ones.
What I want to buy are cool stand alone powers that let me make big effects on things. Thats what I want. None of the wimpy powers that they have sold in the past like Ninja Run, Or Beast Run, or the Jump Boots, or the pathetic hide power. No I want big things. -

Your choice. I think it has an old copy of umm Virtue on it from the last test. Or maybe they cleared that. Anyway it's your call. If you don't copy a character over you'll need to create one starting at level 1 to test it out. That is unless you already have played on the beta server in which case your characters from the last time are probably still there.

Quote:I know that. But it still doesn't mean that I didn't promptly go and try to login now. They gave a specific time for it to start. (6PM for me in Chicago, I think.)
But I might as well try. Doesn't take very long to load, I've got the beta client on my SSD.Just because they clearly told me to hold my horses and wait until tomorrow after work.... It's always possible, [not likely,] that someone accidentally hit the wrong key and opened it early.

From the main page look at the menu on the left. Click My Account. Then click the download game client link.

A show of hands of how many will try and log in tonight? Even though they clearly indicate it starts tomorrow?
::raises hand:: -
I'm hoping that they do sell powers. Would love to buy some.

Praetoria is available as a starting zone if it is unlocked for you. Then you have a choice of the Galaxy tutorial or the Praetoria tutorial.

Quote:Yes but people would whinge because Paragon sent their black squad armed with sharks that have lasers mounted on their fricken heads to tie them into their chairs and force them watch the ad. After all the free stuff is just like forcing them to watch the ad. ::rollseyes::If all it said was...
[Click Here] to view ad to recieve free in game item.
..and one didn't have to see any ad unless they clicked the link, I'd see no problem with it.
If people don't like it, they just don't have to click the link.
Either that or they would whinge that they don't have the free stuff because by whatever they will NEVER EVER click on the link to see the ad but they should be given the free stuff anyway.
So doing it would ad more forum drama.
Hmm, on reflection more forum drama good. lets go for it. -
Quote:The trick to making a single arc season work i that not every single episode of the season should focus on the arc. Mention it perhaps and show that things might be happening with it yes. Actually spend each and every episode focused on the arc? No.
Torchwood really did work better as an episodic thing. The single-arc season isn't BAD, just that if you're used to the push of plot, this slowdown can turn you off.
At least not unless you have plotted out each episode carefully so that you can make certain they don't drag. -

I've seen that in the competitors product. Watched the ads, the items range from decent to meh and the ads the same. ::shrug::

I'm rather pleasantly surprised by the list. It was a fairly good list covering a broad range of styles and sub-genre, the quality of the stories ranging from decent to pretty darn good. I didn't see anything I would call a bad book on the list. Oh a few not the style I enjoy but even in those cases good examples of the type that doesn't do it for me.
Still I missed things like The People, and The Traveler in Black which really should have been on that list. -
Quote:Don't forget that Pete has a functioning danger sense as well.Well, it would explain why Jinks (or however his name is spelled) can detect lies.
But if Alphas does take place in the same universe then their war won't necessarily go the easy way that is expected by either side. You have weird science and weird artifacts around that can make for very interesting complications. -
Yes you are crazy,
Essentially you are only renting access to the Netflix and Spotify libraries. That is at the core of why they charge you a monthly fee for streaming videos and music from them.
This rental fee does not actually give you ownership rights to any of that material. If you want the video/song permanently on your computer then you need to buy it. Depending on who you buy it from the price can be very reasonable.
Now to get technical Netflix and Spotify pay licensing fees to the studios for any media that they stream to you, thus the monthly fee they inturn charge you. That fee must cover the streaming costs, the storage and network connection costs, staff costs, and a decent profit to pocket.
Now if you are talking about a DVD or CD that you own then yes you can digitize and use it yourself as much as you want so long as you don't make money off of that use, or let the physical version out of your hands. -
I had to help someone with a chrome infection the other day. ::shrug:: None of them are proof versus being hacked. And to my considerable amusement those annoying computer/browser hijack viruses are now targeting Mac's.

The furies are basically a reinterpretation of Pokemon. In this case the furies were captured and bound to bloodlines long long ago. Kind of like pokemon captured and passed down from one generation to the next. If they lived that long.

Quote:Not really. This is basically identical to buying/unlocking classes in other Hybrid games.Seeing as how I just started playing the game (got a full subscription last night), I was curious about what the veterans thought about being able to buy Power Sets when the Market comes online.
Based on my experience playing other MMO's, it would seem to me that being able to buy powers or abilities instead of earning them is kind of a game breaker.
But, due to my lack of experience in this game, am I just jumping to conclusions?
