I was reminded of the 4th Doctor dropping off Sarah Jane (and K-9).
The cryptic message (getting tired of those, really
) from the minotaur-thing almost makes it seem like the first episode of this season is the final death of the Doctor.

I'm not a big fan of the toe-beaks, knee-fans, hand-shells, head-wings, and axe-backwards bits*. The rest pictured here looks good, though. I'd buy it if it were a regular costume pack. I think I would need 8 tokens to get it now, though, and that ain't happening soon.
* - I like the boots aside from the toe-beak and knee-fan, I like the forearm part of the gloves, I like the helmet aside from the head wings, and the axe is fine forwards. -
Has it really been 10 years? I joined the forums the month they opened up. Unfortunately, between then and beta the processor requirements got bumped to just over what my then-current PC had and I was thus unable to join the new forums and actual game until later.

Indeed. I had a level-bumped SR tank in Beta and found it to be quite sturdy, and that was without the Fighting Pool, the Medicine Pool, or IOs. Even when the RNG would hate me for a bit, I didn't feel endangered.
Of course, I'm sure there are enemies out there that will cause problems (probably Rularuu and Romans, for two), but I also doubt that I'll be facing them more than once in a blue moon. -

It takes far less time to just press a button wherever you happen to be standing. And since I don't typically need to be hopping zones more than once every 3-4 minutes (might as well drop a decent recharge in the base slot) it seems easily worth it if I'm not tight on power choices.

There's really no reason they couldn't be called Arch-Heroes. The prefix doesn't have an inherently negative connotation, after all.

Quote:IIRC, the first section caps you at level 2 and the cap raises in each section (eventually up to level 5 or 6, I believe).I haven't run it yet, does it cap at low-level? Maybe that's somehow interfering with the side-switching mechanic, which isn't available until level 20.
There are a couple of TFs that cap below 20, aren't there? Can middling alignments join those? -
Personally, since their inception I've thought the basic IOs (sans the crafting process) should have replaced the TO/DO/SO system.

Alas, no new Thundercats. Of the rest, the one I really care about I've already seen through the series finale. I keep wanting to like Young Justice but it keeps failing to impress - Targets wasn't a horrible episode though.
So, nothing new for me to watch tonight.

I mainly slot them because I can't sell them. The bonuses are nice, too, but without them I'm more apt to slot Accuracy and Endurance Reduction in the early levels. Deleting them out-of-hand would seem so wasteful.

Quote:I've not paid close enough attention to bother comparing the length of the feet to the length of the forearms (sans slider adjustments), but I wouldn't be shocked to find that the witch-boot-foot was more appropriately proportioned.Of course, if you go by normal human proportions, the ration of the length of the foot to the length of the leg is probably MORE correct in the witch's boot than in the others, but we've been so conditioned for the game's rather long-legged style that it throws us off.

Unless there are recipes that I'm unaware of which allow those unique enhancements to be Invented, they are not really Inventions regardless of how hexagonal and shapely they appear. And they are not part of a set with associated set bonuses, either.

I'm assuming it's a parody of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo trailer? I saw the Swedish movie on Netflix, but haven't seen any of the trailers (presumably, the parody is of the American version?).

Quote:Technically, venom (a toxin typically injected via bite or sting) is a category of toxin (a biologically produced poison) which is a category of poison. Ergo, venom is poison even though poison isn't necessarily venom.Nope, QI disagrees with you. There are two poisonous snakes in the world : IE if you ate them you would be poisoned, that's what poisonous means.
Others have a venomous bite. They inject a toxin into you. That's what venomous means, the creature can inject a toxic venom into you. Bees and wasps are venomous, not poisonous.
If you disagree take it up with Stephen Fry.
Similarly, an antivenom is a specific kind of antidote.
Also, while you could say that someone was poisoned with venom, I believe it would be more appropriate to simply say they were envenomated. -

I thought they were turned into Vampire Vampires - that they still had intelligence, but their appetite went from human blood to vampire blood.

When I noticed that female Barbarian piece was sporting a muscular midriff, the first thing I thought was "I bet Sam'll be happy to see that!".
-
I like the set overall. I wish it had a proper loin cloth. I also wish females got the males' belt. And I wish the Barbarian Ring glove option used two colours to match the shoulder option and belt properly.

I found an Ice/Time controller to be very safe, though soloing was predictably slow. The two PBAoE toggles seemed to neuter mobs quite nicely. The safety would just be increased once Farsight enters the picture.
But I think my Time Manipulation character of choice will be a Time/Sonic Defender. I think the Sonic ring effects mesh with Time's effects pretty well, aesthetically speaking. And, of course, the -resist is always nice.
-
I saw the first half of it. I became skeptical right about when they started talking about Vampires being affected by the zombie virus. But it was shaping up to be a more interesting episode than the Gurkha vs French Legion that preceded it.
