Lets talk about Time!
I had my ds/time bumped to 50 on beta (for an afternoon until they deleted it) and I enjoyed locking down all the mobs immensely .
Not sure what archtype I want to use with time yet.
I think anything where I can stack more -recharge and/or slows on targets is going to be a good combination.
My Ice/Time Controller felt very safe, even at the lowest levels. I still want to try a Pistols/Time Corruptor, too.
'I don't like the look of it at all,' said the King: 'however, it may kiss my hand if it likes.'
'I'd rather not,' the Cat remarked.
'Don't be impertinent,' said the King, 'and don't look at me like that!' He got behind Alice as he spoke.
'A cat may look at a king,' said Alice.
I'm torn between a Psy/Time Corruptor or a Time/Psy Defender. Anyone playing [/]time[/] have any thoughts on the subject?
Bots/Time MM is just begging to be a themed Terminator type of build.
Rolled a Time/Pistols Defender, and am loving it. Have only really run a couple of missions and multiple Sewer Trials so far, but with the heal, slows and debuffs I think this could be a Defender that can solo some stuff.
@craggy see me on Union for TFs, SFs (please!) or just some good ol fashioned teaming.
My impression is that Time doesnt actually have a downside.
Its got a LOAD of +rech highest in the game a +30% to other and +50 team
WOW, and I mean WOW....
Its got a heal, -def -res -rech slow, holds....
This set will go up there with the best like rad/kin/dark
Boycott Ncsoft if they close down Coh.
Loving Ninja/Time MM, here. Looking forwards to later on, when I can play with Farsight and Time's Juncture. +Def for us, -ToHit for them.
Fire Control/Time is kind of painful without vet powers in the lowbie levels, but I keep telling myself it'll be better later on. I figure I just need to stick with it until level 32+ for imps. Until then I'll be sucking solo... but looking fancy while doing so.
Time Manipulation looks, at first glance, like it will be a go to set for AV/GM fights. They'll resist the slows a great deal, but it has 2 powers with a significant amount of -regen in them, the first of which I believe is stackable.
I'm enjoying my Time/FIre Defender so far.

I found an Ice/Time controller to be very safe, though soloing was predictably slow. The two PBAoE toggles seemed to neuter mobs quite nicely. The safety would just be increased once Farsight enters the picture.
But I think my Time Manipulation character of choice will be a Time/Sonic Defender. I think the Sonic ring effects mesh with Time's effects pretty well, aesthetically speaking. And, of course, the -resist is always nice.

Is it a bug or WAI that the Defender version of the T9 in Time Manipulation has a much longer recharge than the Corruptor version? I haven't looked at the Controller or Mastermind versions.

I've also been toying with the idea of an Ice/Time controller (Ice one of the controller sets I haven't leveled, have Ice Blast), but figured it would be slow. I'll still probably go with it though.

Was a real conundrum trying to figure out what AT/Combo I was going to make... all that lovely +Recharge just begs me to pair it with a Control set,.. but Defender buff/debuff numbers (and earlier power availability) were calling my name.
So I have had the chance to have a proper look now. Did a couple of TFs (Positon and Syn) aswell as getting the toon to 38. The toon I am playing is Gravity/Time, but it was mostly time I wanted to talk about - hence the thread.
My feedback so far. This is based on memory (as the game is down).
So you have 2 powers that are great on their own, but buff the effects of other Time powers too.
Time Crawl (T1)
This is an excellent power, even pretty good on its own. The slow and -regen is very good. It does have an accuracy check and can miss. When considering the effects of other powers on Time Crawl targets it becomes one of the best powers in the set.
Temporal Selection (T4)
This is cast on a team member. It gives a decent bonus to Damage and Recharge. Currently at level 38 (with 2 recharges slotted) I was able to keep this buff permantly on 2 party members. It also increases the effects of other Time powers on the person with the Temporal Selection buff.
I feel this power is pretty good and the recharge is nice. It seems a little overpowered in that it's so easy to keep the +recharge up on 2 targets however.
The other powers
Temporal Mending (T2)
This is a small PBAOE heal with a HoT afterwards. When the heal hits someone with the Temporal Selection Buff the heal is increased by a huge amount on that target.
Currently I think the heal is far too weak on normal targets and far too strong on targets with Temporal Mending.
Times Juncture (T3)
Another great power. Its an Aura (like Steamy Mist) that does -Damage -ToHit of all enemies in range. The radius feels like it is in a great place. I have no problems with this power at all, and is one that you should try keep up at all times.
Distortion Field (T5)
Slows all enemies instead and gives a chance to hold on Time Crawled enemies. The slow effects dramatically reduces incoming damage on large groups entering the field. Definitly a great power and should be used when possible.
[u]Time Stop (T6)
A single target hold. It's stronger when used on enemies with Time Crawl. Not much I can really say, its a Hold
Far Sight (T7)
I love the defence buff to the team this provides. I feel the numbers and the recharge are just right.
Slowed Responce (T8)
Targetted AoE -Def, -Res. Stronger when used on those with Time Crawl. It's a very strong AV *** kicking power. Not had the chance to use this much though, but fantastic on the uses I did get. I am very annoyed that it's so late though. It would have been better as T3/T4 imo.
Chrono Shift (T9)
Crazy power on a 6 minute cooldown.
+50 recharge to the team for 90 seconds.
+15% instant End to the team
+End recovery for 30 seconds.
+Heal over time for 30 seconds.
It's pretty damn good, and the only power that I think "Damn, this animation is awesome!!"

For Distortion Field what is the change for the hold.
Time Stop (T6) A single target hold. It's stronger when used on enemies with Time Crawl. Not much I can really say, its a Hold |
For Time Stop does it buff the length or the mag of the hold? Does it also increase the -regen debuff?
Hey Carnifax.
Q:For Distortion Field what is the change for the hold.
A:Time Crawl greatly increases the chance of the hold happening. From what I have seen so far, it does not increase its length.
Q:For Time Stop does it buff the length or the mag of the hold? Does it also increase the -regen debuff?
A:The magnitude. I totally forgot about the -Regen and -Heal from Time Stop. Currently I do not think that it increases the -regen debuff, but I can't confirm yet.

Yeah, I usually opt for safety over speed anyway, and I did roll one. Level 7 now, things going very smoothly. The prospects of having two ST holds and Arctic Air/Time's Juncture both running (assuming I can manage the end) intrigue me.

I made an ice/time controller (I'm RPing the time as water, which is working out excellently) and I love it. I would never solo with it, because offensively it's just awful, but the control and mitigation it offers are wonderful. Time Stop means I can hold a boss quickly without waiting for Block to recharge, and Distortion Field and Time Juncture are adequate replacements when ice's long-recharging controls are on cooldown.
The only thing I've noticed is that a lot of the powers feel redundant. There are so many slows that I rarely need to use the immobilizes in ice, and I don't really need Shiver because the slows in time have secondary, more useful effects as well. I'm only level 25 so I'm not sure how Glacier will factor in.
I expect that the set will peak late-game with AVs because of all the debuffs, so I'm excited to level up more and see how it goes.
Also, Temporal Mending is a fantastic power. Popping a HoT before a fight means there's much less pressure for me to keep mobs locked down, and with a couple SOs the heals are almost perma.
So, the first thing I did (as I am sure many others) was made a character with Time Manipulation character.
What is everyones thoughts on this Powerset so far?
My thoughts
-End seems pretty managable, even early on.
-The slows are great
-Distortion Field is awesome.
They are of coarse only initial reactions, and as I work on the toon I hope to build on some more detailed discussion over the coming weeks.
