Shadow Slip

Shadow Slip seems like too cool of a power not to pick up. No more having to use the trains, just jump to whatever zone you want when you want.

How many of you are looking at your builds seeing where you're going to fit this one in or have you just decided that the train is good enough for you?

If and when I respec my warshade next, I'll probably pick it up but I'm not going to go out of my way to get it otherwise.

Just testing it and it's not worth the power slot.

It teleports you to any zone you can go to for your alignment, but has a 5 minute cooldown.

It really doesn't take much time to just take a train.

I'm planning to respec into it, both for concept and convenience reasons.

Right now my Warshade is on the run from his fellow SG mates in the isles. He's even gone to Rogue alignment. It'll be a great power to justify his ability to evade them.

I also play the character "out of character" enough on blueside that being a Rogue is very inconvenient. This will take a lot of the pain out of the travel, and it's not like I'd need to travel more than once every two minutes (Keep in mind the amount of recharge my Warshade has).

His current build is here. I'll be swapping Nebulous Form out for Shadow Slip, so I don't lose anything I make great use out of.

For warshades, why *not* take it? It's not like we're usually horribly strapped for power choices - slots are usually the tight ones. Sure, it doesn't always do anything that you couldn't do fairly easily, but it'll still be nice to take a step out of the 'current zone->ouro->PI' or 'current zone->skyway->faultline' type trips, where the target zone isn't accessible by train. It'll also be nice if you're currently *in* one of those less accessible zones - you can teleport straight to your destination instead of going to ouro or somewhere first. I know *I'm* planning to take it, it's not like I have anything else important to take in the 40s.

My new build is insanely tight... I couldn't possibly think of a way to use this power. Heck, I don't even have room for Super Speed, and I already had to lose Nebulous Form to get everything exactly where I wanted it. I guess it's no big loss though, since we got those fancy, free mission teleporter things anyways. They don't even take up a power choice.

I went ahead and got the PB's new extra travel power, Quantum Acceleration. Hey, it's fast and can hold a LotG, why not eh?

Yeah, that seems worth while, at least you can still use it to mule a useful IO or IO set.

Can't do that with shadow slip, nothing useful to put in it.

I don't have any powers I'd want to give up for shadow slip, so I respecced out after messing around with it for a while.

There's sometimes where I thought it'd be nice to have, but really those times are so few and far between, I'd rather take a power that I can at least slot something useful in.

I guess the power is worth it if you don't have anything you want, can use, or you plan on using the power often. I guess it's just not worth it for me.

What about Winter's Gift Resist Slow?

I know people used to put that in teleport ally.

I can be found, outside of paragon city here.
Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.

It takes far less time to just press a button wherever you happen to be standing. And since I don't typically need to be hopping zones more than once every 3-4 minutes (might as well drop a decent recharge in the base slot) it seems easily worth it if I'm not tight on power choices.

Im getting it because

As a recharge intensive TRI FORM warshade, toggles are generally un needed for the toon, and some attacks are unneccesary, so besides the LOTG mules (Concealment set, combat jumping) and since we also lack a epic power pool, i often have many MANY random powers to pick that due to build reasons WONT be getting more then one slot. This is going to be one of those powers...except ill actually like this one :3

I went ahead and respec'd into it... and it has about a minute and a half cooldown for me--but then again, I have an INSANELY fast recharge build... Not like I'd really need to use it more than once every minute and a half, but wow... with as many TFs as I run, it was a no-brainer to me... Just imagine... finally being able to lead a Shadow Shard TF and going back and forth from the SS to Paragon City in a matter of seconds!

I went ahead and dropped Essence Drain from my build for it, as I never used that power in my attack chain anyway (stygian circle works just fine for heals).

Here's my newly-respec'd current build for AlienOne

I took it on my baby Exalted squid but I respeced out of it. The marginal QoL convenience was not worth the power slot. Between trams, SG porters, Ouro portal and mission teleporter it just didn't offer enough return on investment.
