I used to use graph paper too, but now I use a miniCAD program for my rough base designs.

The Brute: A ten ton bowling ball on a flat stretch of road. You can push it around, but it takes a while to get the ball rolling. It damages cars and squishes yappy little dogs, but isn't all that impressive. Then you come to a slope in the road and it takes off, picking up more and more speed wiping out anyone and anything in it's path.
The Stalker: a ten ton bowling ball suspended twenty feet in the air. When someone walks underneath, BAM! Then you push it around for a little bit kinda like the brute, except there's no slope to roll down. They did however leave you the crane. You pick it up again, and BAM!
Two fun and valid playstyles, two fun AT's. The brute is rolling cloud of destruction. The stalker is the precision assassin with a ST nuke. Up to you which you like better.

OMG! That bowling ball... it's my wife! -

I've never seen nor been part of a base raid in my 5 years playing this game.

I'm not a big PVP'er, but I really had alot of fun on the Base Raids I've been on in the past. And am looking forward to running them again hopefully. -

We will see, we need more people talking in here though, come on people, don't you want double doorways back!?
[/ QUOTE ]
Oook! I would love to get them back. I have seen a few bases with them & love the thought of what I could create.
I'm just bummed I didn't know about them untill after they were pulled with the pathing.
Even though I'd have to do some major reconstruction in my base to implement my ideas. But I'd still do it!

It sounds like you are refering to the 24 month Veteran Reward. They are the personal base items: Comic Covers.

so does no one have a base that's finished enough to submit for feature ?
[/ QUOTE ]
Oook! I have our 2nd SG base built Arcane style, but you recently featured our main base built Tech style. I suppose I could always post some pics of the Arcane base on the "Coolest rooms" thread.
Plus the interview would be pretty much the same as my last one. *_* -
Using the Cubicle works like a charm for this. Just follow Ad_Astra's insrtuctions.
Here's a pic of our Hazzard Zone TPs with the beacons on the front TP legs.

I agree with most everyone here. Salt Crystals is the dog of the set. Definately check out Local_Man's guide.
Oook! Incredible guide Local_Man! The best I've seen yet. I wish I had seen it waaaay earlier. It gave me alot of insight for my Earth/Kin & Fire/Rad. Especially with your explainations on each power & thier Status Effects. I might actually make an Earth/Rad now. -

Great Ideas.. I'd love to see Undo and Custom Object buttons as well.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oook! Please give me an "Undo" button!
Especially for the occasional "I've got this item lined up perfectly right here... Click... *POOF!* now just where did that disappear to?" moments.
Pretty please with a banana on top even! -

You know, could be an interesting take and have bases available as mission maps..... just a thought.
[/ QUOTE ]
I personally love this idea. A few friends & I have talked about this for a while now. It would make a great map option for the MA. Maybe if they set limits as to the plot size & how many rooms are in the base being used. -

They want to keep charging ahead with new content (to a point that makes perfect sense!), but i am in the opinion that they should fix all the broken parts to show us they back up their work.
[/ QUOTE ]
I totally agree! I am all for new content, but fixing the broken parts of the game should be a key concern for them. Especially things like the CoP & Raids, as there seems to be alot of people interested in these things (from what I've seen in the many threads about this subject anyway) and the amount of time they have been down. I understand that Base Raiding may be back soon. (or is that just another rumor?) But, the CoP being down for 4+ years without a hint of when/if it will actually be back is just rediculous.

Mission TP from Mac pack doesnt work

My mission TP from the MAC pack works just fine. I use it all the time. -
Where's the Event?
I believe "Player Questions" or maybe even "Dev's Corner" would be the proper forum for this subject. -

And there's still always room for jell-o!

Mmmmm... jell-O! Banana flavored? -

I like it stacker, excellent idea! I've had quite a few people watch me build things over the past couple years & get asked a ton of questions as to how I've built certain things. If you need a guest "instructor" for classes I'd be willing to help out anytime I can.

Oook!
To sink items under a floor you need to have a lower floor section available on which to slide the item you're placing. You will want to set your camera angle so you're looking at the higher floor section from the lower floor section. Rotate the camera up/down so that you can hardly see the upper floor. Pick your item and place it on the lower floor section, then slide it under the upper floor section. Once it is placed, you can rotate the camera to view from under the room you're working on & adjust the location of the item.
I believe the problem you're having with the item popping up to the top floor section is when your cursor crosses the line between the 2 floor sections, it pops the item up to the higher floor. That can easily be fixed by adjusting your up/down camera angle while you're placing your items.
I have also found a way to sink items in the floor without having a lower floor section open. You can actually place an item under the floors from the side of a room. It's a little trickier than the dual floor sections but works if you want a room without a sunken floor section or items sunk in every section.
As for the chaise lounges by the pool, that was a little tricky as the operation table is shorter than the floor sections. For those I had to sink a safe under the floor, get it in the right position, then sink the operation table and slide up up the side of the safe. I takes a little playing with, but once you get it, you got it.
Note: You can't place an item under the lowest floor section.
I hope this is helpfull. -

And as it stands now, there are 22 beacons IIRC, requiring 10 telepads
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually you need 11 Telepads for the 22 beacons -
Our current storage setup:
[u]1 Personal Storage Vault[u]
[u]7 Enhancement bins[u]
5 Origin SO bins: 1 for each origin
2 IO bins
[u]5 Inspiration bins[u]
1: Awakens & Break Frees
2: Damage & Accuracy
3: Health & Endurance
4: Defense & Luck
5: Misc.
[u]5 Salvage bins[u]
2 Rare bins
2 Uncommon bins
1 Common bin
Since the Invention System came into the game more people are going for the IO's and just using the SO's as fillers, we've noticed that less SO's are being used. We are currently re-thinking our storage situation. We will more than likely consolidate the Enhancement origin tables & add more Salvage bins.
As for Salvage... even with our 5 bins (soon to be 7 or 8), there almost always seems to be 1 or 2 pieces I need to run to WW's to buy when I get a few recipes I want to make.
My personal vault is usually pretty full of Rares & salvage I'm saving for recipes I'm going to make.
As for keeping salvage & how many of each... that's a tough call. It all depends on your SG's wants/needs. You may be saving up certain salvage to build base items or just saving for particular IO sets. There may be certain pieces of salvage you use more, but someone else in the SG uses different ones.
I'm not a huge fan of the 30 item limit on the Salvage bins, even though I understand why due to hording concerns. But I say up it a little, at least 50 each would be nice.
Commandment #3: There are no more Jolly Ranchers, they're all gone! -

Medium population: Infinity, Champion
Low population: Pinnacle, Protector

"Role playing": Dark corners of Pocket D
Friendly alcoholics: Pinnacle
Try them all, you have the slots already!

<sigh> never any love for Guardian.

cuz guardian is the VIP server and he's prolly never been able to get in to try it out.

Just curious, what makes Guardian the VIP server? I've been there since my 1st charactor. -

Whoa..... how did you get those landing to stick out of the wall like that... that is sweet!
[/ QUOTE ]
Hey hey! Yeah, I used a Floor Safe to get the height, then a Floor Tile to build the landing on. That's pretty much how I build all my floors. -
Just bring back the old base salvage already!
