Double Doorways
I most certainly agree.
Sooo. . . which button do I push to make it happen *looks at the big, red "do not push, unless emergency server explosion is needed"* is it that one? that must be what posi means by that right? it translates to "Push this when you want something" right!?
Really, noone else wants double doors back. . .ok, in that case, is there anyway I can delete my post I hate looking like such a fool *sigh*

I want double doors back, I have a base with a double door still in it that I have to be very careful when editing, already lost two other double doors in it.
I also wish that door placement was a little more intuitive than it is right now. I can move a room and have a perfectly viable door location set up in both rooms, but if it's not in the square that the builder wants to put the door, I can't move the room. I've found a way around this by using one-wide rooms to force door placement, but then sometimes moving the other room back runs into more door troubles. It is really rather annoying.

also annoying when you have a fully double/triple stacked room and you suddenly want to attach a new room to it, or move it.. . you often can't because of the check *sigh*
Only thing I can see an issue with implementing double doors is the rooms that have ALL of their sides filled to make the room 1X1 square bigger. . . .but even then you can't put anything in doorways (I would also like to see that changed even if double doors weren't allowed, so we can decorate them, having them so plain is. . .UGH! =])
I wouldn't mind paying for double, triple, quad, etc doors. I mean you can't place anthing in the space and these new doors could cost as much as the defensive rooms to always ensure the cost on the combined room is greater than a bigger room with equal traits. If it is related to raiding then it is our risk as a group to have "dead" zone with no objects and further LOS.

I can't believe I forgot about this, I've been running into this a lot too. I have made quite a few rooms in my new base that have multiple floors, or tons of things all over the walls and above the doorway, and can't add any rooms to any side of them without first deleting everything around the doorway. (I think I have remade the one staircase 5 times now. At this point, I've given up for now and let it as half a staircase until I'm sure about the placement of the room beyond it.)

Oook! I would love to get them back. I have seen a few bases with them & love the thought of what I could create.
I'm just bummed I didn't know about them untill after they were pulled with the pathing.
Even though I'd have to do some major reconstruction in my base to implement my ideas. But I'd still do it!
I have a few things that I would love to use double doors for, opening up into a grand room for one thing. But if I had to pick double doors or being able to decorate said current doorways, I want to decorate or at least put things on the freaking walls, perhaps a banner or two?

Since it seems we only get a very small part of what we want here in Base Construction, it's not even remotely near the top of my list of what I want to see. So if it means I can't have some of the other things we have been listing that we want to get, then it would be fine with me if we never got them back.

As far as I can tell, the easiest option would be for the devs to put in a "1x2 door" room. Doors already have a whole tab, it's just that 1x1 is the only option inside of it.
This could be used for the two primary purposes people want: producing a wider doorway between rooms, and to bridge between rooms that are 2 squares apart and not currently able to be connected directly. (If they're 3 or more apart, you can put in an intermediate room to handle things.)
This is *probably* easier than rearranging the door placement code to allow folks to "chain" or "stack" the existing 1x1 doors. It's possible this would only take database changes, although we'd need to test it extensively.

This kind of idea I would agree with. And as mentioned eariler in the thread, alowing Doorways to have items in them would be nice.

Actually, IMO it makes it easier for the flow not to be disrupted when you don't have the bottle neck, Similar to a completely opened living room/dinning room/kitchen, you just use furnature to "Seperate" the rooms. . .*shrugs* it seems to work.
Thought that is something else I was requesting, the ability to decorate doorways =]

Well for me it is the #1 thing I want, I could care less about water in bases, I am a die hard base builder and the only thing I seem to be missing is my double doorways.
I have my hero base set up with them but the parts of the base I have added since i13 have no love with double doors.

Actually, I don't reall care about "water" either.
I got most of what I wanted when they turned off raid pathing, but what I really want to see is the ability to edit on the Z-Axis and tons more items & textures added to the editor.
If they add double doorways, I will probably use them in at least one base, same thing if they added water. I'm just not that excited about either.
But I'm also not saying "no way" either, since I know some people realy, really want both of these things.

Ok, so really, this is the only feature (that I can think of) that we lost acess to due to the removal of raid pathing. is there anyway that his can be made to be allowed? the double doors look GREAT IMO, and really, what is the worst that could happen by allowing them?
Honestly. . .back when raid pathing was enabled, it made more sense to not allow them then, for the use of bottle necking. . .oh well
I would just love to see a code put in place to allow this =]
