Uh... ok.
Mind if I ask why? I mean, if I'm vendoring or deleting an item, it's because I don't need it and being the 5970th Calibrated Accuracy recipe for 1 inf or 900th Gabriel's Hammer does nothing but tie up a slot. And if it's a GOOD recipe I don't need, it tends to go to friends or into the SG base (or, yes, thrown on the market for 5 inf. If someone wants to pay me 350 mill for it, that's their business.)
And yes, I've had recipes up for months at low (under 100 inf) prices that I've ended up vendoring. They get vendored because people DON'T want them.
Not trying to be rude, so don't take it that way. I'm just trying to see the actual point. -

Short answer to the title: No, it isn't.
Long answer: YOU may not like it orhave a use for the power. But people need to quit saying "X power is useless/we can do without it." Some might need tweaking, sure, but not overall revamps.
Yes, even Black Hole and Dimension Shift.
So, instead of making another "X power is useless" thread, why not just ask straight out "I don't seem to use this power, how do other people use it?" -

I don't really have powersets worked up for this, but I'd like to see a blade melee/assault set for Blasters and Dominators. If you're wondering why, there's a Blaster I'd love to make that makes no sense with Devices - I want to say historically, as well as in other games, Archers would often have daggers or short (or long, why not...) swords for self defense if the enemy got too close. I can't make that sort of character now.
I figure that giving doms a copy, adjusted for them, well, why not.
Yes, I know redraw would potentially be an issue. I see playing this as being almost a 'state change' - you're range until they get too close, then you're in melee, clearing out whoever comes too close. And there would be a bit of 'dirty fighting' in here, too.
Just putting something together quickly for blasters:
1. Caltrops
2. Quick jab - minor damage.
3. Hilt smash - Stun, minor damage
4. Stab - Single target moderate damage
5. Build up
6. Blind - throw sand/dirt/whatever you want to call it at the enemy's face, blinding them. (-per, possibly placate chance, -tohit.)
7. Hamstring - PBAOE. A lot like the leg sweep animation, only you go down and spin with the blade. Damage and enemy slow.
8. and 9. Not sure. I know a good, solid skewering with a great deal of damage would be the tier9, and I think I'm missing a little utility - anyway, these can be moved around, adjusted as needed. -
No. I think Concealment or Leadership is probably getting taken more now, at least fo me.

Korilynn:
You have your own solution. You've been using AE tickets to buy SOs, and can't afford or can't see your bids for some salvage filled. Don't do it that way. Use the AE tickets to roll on random common salvage. Use what you need, sell what you don't. I make a fair bit (not rich) of inf that way, listing what I don't need for 5 inf. -
Quote:His warshade guide sucks as much as dark armor.Well, I have what I'm told is one of the better warshade guides available, so I suggest you take a look at that. It'll help immensely with regards to play style. The link is in my signature.
Watch for one of the theme teams that comes up (not the iron eagles, though) and join in, or make one of your own. You'll have a reason to keep going, and since you'll be teamed, any slow spots will go faster. -
That's a big twinkie. (A description I have to remember to use elsewhere.)

Quote:/this. Seriously. If you hate it this much, go away and quit spending money on it. And take golden girl with you.May I ask why you're still here, honestly? It doesn't seem like you actually like this game at all, but you continue to play it out of some sort of sense of spite.
How to enjoy a peacebringer: Don't read the forums.
Serious answer though? Get some help down in the kheld forums to see if there's something you can do that fits your playstyle. You may want to invest more in forms. You may want to use just one instead of both forms. Or you may want to go just human.
If you don't like it afterward, then you don't like it. It doesn't mean the AT "sucks" or anything, just that it's not for you. I don't really like Dual Blades, since I feel like I have to chase combos to be effective, so I deleted mine. I don't like Widows and Forts, so I don't play them. Doesn't mean they're bad, just that they're not for me. It's your $15/month, play what you find fun. -
Hasten is as much a "must have" power as Whirlwind. I have a few characters with it, and no, it's not normally my doms. The ones that do have it, a lot of them have it post-Inherent-Stamina and don't have it slotted past a single recharge, or maybe just because I want SS. I can see MAYBE wanting it with Illusion to get PA up more often, but other than that it's simply "a better prereq than Flurry if you want SS."

Since I know it'll be said:
This is not a complaint about having to PVP for PVP rewards, an alternate way (necessarily) to get shivans or nukes or other PVP rewards. This also leaves the PVP zones in place to PVP,, get current rewards and all that.
There. With that disclaimer out of the way, how about some PVE versions of the original three PVP zones? They've got potentially interesting storylines to put in the zones and one of them (Bloody Bay) even has ties to the "Coming storm" with the Shivans and meteors, but right now they're nothing but empty set pieces. (Really, when's the last time you saw a respectable number of people PVPing in there? Even half team vs half team? And no, farming IOs or rep does not = PVP.)
I don't want to call them coop zones, since there would still be an us vs them feel here, but maybe "equal access" zones would be appropriate. In these, PVP has been discouraged by the standing forces of Arachnos and Longbow (for instance) - there's an unofficial truce, more of a cold war going on. The last superpowered battles brought in a massive response from both sides, so it's just not done any more in those zones - but that doesn't preclude some "behind the scenes" work.
Bloody bay: Find out just HOW the meteors and shivans are tied into the Coming Storm. It's been mentioned but never really gone into, as far as I remember. There's also a potential here for post-50 Incarnate content to return to, with Ouroboros's interest as well.
Siren's Call: It's an Arachnos incursion onto Paragon's soil. There'd be obvious interest on both sides in either pushing this back or extending it.
Warburg: A rogue with nukes. That's a threat to both sides. Again, obvious interest (as well as going more into the "Rogue Arachnos" faction which has just sort of been dumped there without a lot of explanation.)
1. Why do this?
Why not? The zones are already there. They already have CONTACTS. It's extra content at different level ranges. And who knows, having people poke around here might get them interested in looking at the real zones.
2. Why not convert the PVP zones?
Because I don't believe in taking away things. PVP is broken. It needs fixing. That doesn't mean the zones dedicated to it should be removed, any more than bases should be removed because they have issues, or the market should be removed because of the prices of some items.
3. What about PVP rules for powers?
These are PVE zones. They go by PVE rules. The PVP power changes, I think, are one of the big causes for the zones being empty.
4. What about the shivans and nukes?
IF they're awarded, it would be as part of an arc and limited either in power, being non-renewable or some other way. (I believe the devs said they already think the shivans are overpowered, I don't think they'd go for a second way of getting them infinitely.) You may get to play with them as part of an arc (control some Shivans with Aeon's tech in a mission, for instance,) but I'm really wary about just awarding them and having them be repeated without limit. -
People worry about badges in this game?
(I kid - thanks for the warning.) -

It is in the wrong forum, actually, but you're in the right place to start looking at least. I don't know if there's a guide for one here, and you have to check the date if there is, but I'd repost this in the brute forums.

For someone insulting another person and calling their friends "losers," well, do us all a favor. Post your global. I want to be sure to put that on /gignore, as well, if this is "to be expected" from you.
Given what I've seen in various posts you've done versus what Memphis has done, I'd play with him. With the help and guides he's put out here - not a "font of faux knowledge" - I'd expect him to know what he's doing, and the way he seems on the boards when someone's not provoking him he sounds like he'd be a good teammate. You, I can't see even standing next to you in the market as being pleasant. But by your own admission, "it's to be expected."
Yeah, he needs to tone it down some. But you're being juvenile. -
Quote:I don't. Used to see them run constantly. Why? Not because they're fun, typically (though I think so,) but because of the reward people could get speeding though them. Then they went to merits, dropped it to - what, two now? - and it seems nobody's interested even when I try to start one up.Not sure which way you're going with this. I see Katie Hannon TFs starting up almost every time I'm logged in.
Quote:The regular game is the car. The Incarnate Content is the carpool lane. You're required to bring others, or else you're going to get yourself in trouble.
And no, the Incarnate content is not "the carpool lane." If you really think so, it's obvious you have no idea why the way the content is being presented and gated like it is is upsetting to people. If there were non-trial (and don't give me "trial may just mean one person!") content, then maybe the analogy would hold, as you'd get to the same point faster by teaming - much like the rest of the game. -
Quote:... I now want a power that lets me launch an ice tanker at mobs. It's good, but for optimal effect you need to hit the targets with something that slows their movement to the absolute minimum. Otherwise they run out of the effect before maximum damage is inflicted.
That something can be Frost Breath, Shiver, Snowstorm, an Ice tanker, or whatever. But all by its lonesome, Ice Storm tends to make mobs scatter. -
If people need to be 'bribed' to run it, perhaps it should get more attention beforehand. People will run it, yes - then forget it. How many Katie's are run?
Quote:Is this thread for reals? I am all about making people complete tf/sf's or even raids to get certain alpha components. This is an MMO, why would everything be obtainable solo?
Just because the capability is there doesn't mean it MUST be used every single time, or that not using it is "strange."
For what it's worth, after reading the 'plans' so far, as far as I'm concerned the Incarnate system doesn't exist. I have new 50s after last weekend (yay last few levels done,) but I'm not going to bother even unlocking alpha. There's no point to even starting the system for me. -
... also, do you play much else but COH? Or have a particularly large screen to do it on? If not, I wouldn't even bother with two video cards - one 570 or 580 would probably be more than enough.
Water cooling - I'd bet they're using that self-contained unit Corsair and some other places sell, just rebadged.
The SSD looks a little cramped to me at 30 Gb. (Personally I still use decently fast normal hard drives.)
I'd agree Windows 7 Ultimate is overkill. Home Premium is enough for most people. Pro adds a few things that can be useful, but Ultimate, not so much unless you're in a business and traveling around with a laptop you want secured.
Decide if you really need 12 Gb (do you do a lot at once?) or if half of that will do. -
Yeah, took a minute to do that - nothing recognizes that button, even in the keybinds menu.
Ah well. -
Quick question, and I assume the answer's "no" here.
I have a G500 mouse. The side has three buttons - in a "-_-" configuration. The left and right map to button 4 and 5 just fine, that bottom button though doesn't seem to react to any mapping at all (and the software's "eh" with win7x64 and COH.)
Has anyone had any luck mapping this?
(FWIW, I went down what I know to work, just /bind button# "local #" with the # being 4, 5, 6, etc. all the way to 0 (and 10) - nothing responded on that button.)
